    I LOVE that you're using old hollywood women as examples, it brings such a timeless element to the topic of beauty.. so many of our current trends are made for artificial bodies too (the sportwear trend really requires breast or butt additions with tiny waist etc), so going back to old hollwood is more helpful since the bodies are in their natural state and not drastically changed by surgeries or extreme workout/diet regimens.

    I love how Ally emphasizes the fact that clothes don't have a type - it's all about the details and what you incorporate into the outfit. Unfortunately a lot of people who strictly follow Kibbe emphasize that "head to toe" look and that you always have to wear strictly clothes that are meant for your type, which i think is ridiculous.

      Aly understands it's about the "essence". Some of the looks other people follow strictly look like halloween costumes. No one is exactly the same, it makes more sense to use your type as a guideline and inspiration, rather than a rigid rule. Aly is the best on this subject! 👌

    I just realised that Faye Dunaways look in Bonnie and Clyde is one of my favourites on me. I didn't realise it was because I am a dramatic. Makes so much sense now. Thank you for doing these reviews, Ally! I felt like a weird giant in my clothes for a long time but since I understand how to work with my body instead of against it I feel better and better :)

    I love how naturally beautiful Faye Dunaway was back in the 60s. I truly love how they put emphasis on her natural bone structure, a groomed arch, and athletic frame. Her long and short skirts are balanced with her long legs are show off her ankles. She just looks so pouty, sweet and classy in one go. It's just my opinion but I think too much makeup competes with her beauty.

    Dunaway is beautiful and fabulous! She obviously has had a ton of plastic surgery. I think it changed her natural beauty-wish she had a lot less surgery; I don't think it served her well. She is an amazing actress though. I think her Chinatown look is her best look and fits her Dramatic type perfectly. Ally great video, but I think you are remiss not to discuss her Chinatown look. Also a very iconic look for her.

You showed a shot of Faye with a large leather bag under her arm and a Tyrolian style hat which from another of her iconic movies, 'Chinatown' that came out in 1974. The setting of the movie was late 1930s Los Angeles which was a very different era stylewise from the early 1930s in the American Midwest. I'm sure there are more of her looks from that movie online. Cheers!

      She's SN for sure, she look tall and also can carry enlongated lines very easily. However for a long time she wore pretty much gamine/SG lines. And she looks great as well, but SG lines are not native to her body. Like her essence (the delicate and frily stuff) go well, but not the lines chosen.

  • @EbruErbash

    Masterclass as always, spasipo. Faye Dunaway and I share one secret: We have this beautifully elongated face with a well shaped, strong jawline but our eyes are relatively up high positioned on it, which means that the lower part of our faces, below our eyes looks longer and bigger, while the upper part, the forehead narrower. And her hooded eyes look narrower to her face too. So you need to open up these eyes and look bigger BUT also lower their positioning DOWN to make the face more proportioned. Well, she always emphasize lower lashes in her make up, uses tricks to open her eyes by bringing down her lower lashline (see her 60’s bw photo w/ JP Belmondo. being the most extravagant but always the same effect). She also looks better with her straight brows which add to her face this horizontal width and cut it to look shorter -rather than these higher, upwardly rounded or arched brows which are the golden standard for most faces; such thin trimmed brows make her look older too. We may also notice that in her hairstyles too: She doesn’t cover her forehead or always uses diagonal parts, lines not to shorten this upper part of her face. And now these eyeglasses can make you a sense: Referring to your video about it, Yes, these are the faces these pilot glasses are made for. You notice well that her glasses are ovals but always downward, dropping the eyes position down and covering more places on the larger down part of the face. These oval frames mimics also her jawline and accentuates her structure, her own frame.

      @@ninna11 I thought about that too, but what caught my eye was a picture of him in a suit on a beach, and his hair was curly and tousled in the wind. @ninna11 3 роки тому +1

      @@beebikinis oh yes I agree with you. Facial hair really didn't suit him. I never thought about it but it's really classic feature. Jon Hamm is contemporary dramatic classic and he looks much better without facial hair. Soft Classic and Soft Natural look alike a bit to me. Since you really understand body types could you recognize one of Milos Bikovic? I'm thinking he is Soft Natural or some Classic. He is 6'2'' (188 cm).

    • @beebikinis
      @beebikinis 3 роки тому +1

      @@ninna11 I'm still learning, especially typing men 😄 Milos' face reads very Yin to me, but he's also very tall. I don't see much width that's required for Naturals. He suits facial hair, and it brings out even more of that softness in him. I'm not sure how height affects male types, but since he's sharp and romantic at the same time, a bit narrow, without being a Dramatic, maybe he's Teathrical Romantic? He even has a natural beauty mark. I think his best looks I found are TR; in both pics he has a double breasted suit with intricate details. One jacket is velvet (luxurious), with a silver tie (sheen), with a red pocket square (detail) and he also has a row of cufflinks (jewellery). In the other he has a petrol shirt layered with a tie, the jacket is light weight fabric (romantic) and at the cuffs there's a silver lining (sheen, detail.)

    • @katemaconeil7087

      I think your vertical line gives you already a lot of information about « how to dress ». Short vertical line = short lines and cropped clothes, Long vertical lines = longs lines (pants, coat, skirt, dress). Medium lines is basically knee length skirt, jackets that stops at the hip bone, pants that stops at the ankle.
      Another thing that can help you : do you look better with tousled hair or sleek/neat hair ?
      The first category is gamines or naturals and they look better with mix and match/ separates clothings. The second category, romantics, classics and dramatics, looks better in head to toe ensemble and monochromatic looks.
      These are some « practical » tips inspired by this system but if you want to find your type I’d say your bone structure is the most important (like said earlier). Because classics can wear soft or dramatic classic without it look to weird, same things with all the types.
