Tim isn't just talking about performers/writers here, he's talking about everyone who uses any kind of social media.
I agree, people are getting fake off of cancel culture, blm, alm, these staged loyalty test, TikTok challenges etc, that even people who are shaming comedians are get their 15 minutes.
@@L8bloomer_Audi And it cuts both ways. Conservatives and the religious are just as quick to humiliate and cancel others in their tribe as they are liberals or those outside of their religion.
I'm an extreme left liberal, but I refuse to identify as "woke" because too many people (again, conservatives/religious included) can't laugh at themselves and take things out of context, missing the larger part of what's being said. Offensive words and comments/jokes are often used as a way of shocking the audience into seeing how ridiculous certain ideas of racism, homophobia, ageism, feminism, religious intolerance, etc. really are. They aren't meant to be taken literally.
Of course, there are people who use offensive words and express offensive thoughts specifically to hurt others. The best response to that isn't to silence them, but to use your own voice to ruthlessly speak out against those thoughts and ideas.
A final thought: Free speech is misunderstood _way_ too often. It only applies to government censorship of words and ideas. It doesn't apply to social media, privately owned stores and venues, public places, etc. Nor does it mean you can say anything anywhere you want and not be challenged or denounced. Freedom of speech is not freedom from criticism.
Not a favorite of Tim's for me visually but cute. He is pretty clear wearing the "short pants" that this is not a mature conversation. It's satire which is always a particularly sarcastic medium.
Tim just this week was posting about still having major problems from getting Covid. Takes him twice as long on his running to go the same distance and he says his singing is really hard to do now.
