Great job, really clear explanation - thank you!
Thank you! It looks like it’s just what I need to play along with recorded backing tracks dropped into Garage Band and HST the FX/Amp out to a powered speaker or headphones!
Nice playing 😇
@Arriba7losque7ladran Hi, I didn’t ... sorry
I prefer it being wired instead of wireless. Latency would likely be better. This would be perfect for me! Ive tried to record some bass stuff and send it to family but I cant afford any equipment and not easy to get a quality recording on a cell phone. It would also be the perfect way to document ideas in the moment.
I love it 😉
How well does it cope with recording distortion through an amp? Does the quality of the recording sound decent? Also is it compatible with other apps/programs other than garage band? Thanks.
I purchased the go guitar a while back to use with my Samsung android. Im Really enjoying it as I had a very hard time finding something that actually worked for android. I can't use the device for bandlab or anything like that but it works just fine using an audio recorder.. the problem I am having is that I have not been able to get it to do streaming for UA-cam or Facebook live videos.. I'm not even sure if this device is capable of that. I have my own effects so the built in effect thing from apps like deplike or GarageBand doesn't matter to me. . If anyone out there knows or has any tips please comment below. Otherwise I'll probably just return it. I've done everything i know to do..
It's a great unit. Just doesn't suit my purposes.
Great comment... Very curious, did you ever find a solution for streaming with this device?
Is there a simple way to connect a laptop that plays music to this system so that I can play along to a song? While recording on my phone? I can connect the laptop so that I can hear the track, but I can't hear my own playing...I am playing a Roland TD17 Drum module, thanks for any assistance you can offer!
so whats the expected latency?? im planning to use something like this for learning using an app and the app I'm currently using (Yousician) will also tell you if you play the note early or late, so it's kinda important for me not to learn bad habits like being 20ms late or early, that there is as close to 0ms latency as possible
Like the Garage Band, what app I must use on Android to turn on monitoring? And if I use a mixer, how do I turn on monitoring?
So you can’t plug it into a cab direct, you need an amplifier that could be say a powered mixer, guitar amp or powered monitor etc. another dumb question..could you play thru this device into garageband on your ipad and then send the audio to a bluetooth speaker..or would there be latency issues?
Daer Ellie
I have an Yamaha APX-700 electroacoustic guitar. Can i plug it into this product? Thanks.
Bought it and it works well with headphones but I dont hear the effects coming through my guitar amp or I hear it much fainter than the clean sound and this tends to be counter productive for live recording as i have to turn the gain high resulting in a lot of noise...what am I doing wrong?
I like this device. What would be the best app to use for effects and recording on Android?
But does this work for video? Meaning can I use this and my phone camera pick up the audio while recording video ?
Does it work with acoustic guitar (with a preamp)?
Hi there!
Can I use this for streaming -- Instagram Live specifically? Do i need to have a DAW app running in the background, or no?
Hey! Was just wondering if you have used this? I’ve just bought one to do live streams from a record player and mixer. Hopefully it works ok
Now that's a device, I can have the guitar sound from my amp recorded to my notebook (via a recording software which I will not mention here, not necessary), so what I gotta do is plug my guitar straight to the GoGuitar, plug my amp to the GoGuitar as well, and plug the GoGuitar to my notebook. And I can still use headphones if I wish to? If I can do that all with this one device, then people you are brilliant.
Will bias fx 2 work with this ? the iOS version
It’s 12/7 2021 and i see this on sale at sweetwater for $9.99 - NOT A BAD PRICE!
Hi, can I use it with a Huawei Tablet Android and with Amplitube 4 too? Thank
you! ;-)
Is it posible to get audio Recording from a mixer to the go guitar? Is it like iRig? Thank you!
I couldnt make it work and their Customer Solution Recording and Broadcast Specialists wont help at all
Can i use the head phone input for microphone?
Wow interesting...
#silGUITARlessons
Thanks
Just got one. I get THRU to work but no effects at all come through when using a usbc adapter to iPad for ToneBridge. Need some tips/help.
Not sure I am on right site. I'm trying to transfer setting to the same unit just a new one. I can't find to find. Thankbyou
If I play music from an app on my phone like Spotify or Amazon Music, can I hear it through the headphones along with the guitar to play along with the music?
Hi Don, yes, in iOS you'd run those apps in the background and they should keep playing while you record the guitar using our Go Record app or Garage Band.
Can i use garageband in the background and simulteniously see chord paper from ipad file
Can you use a mic too with that device?
When you speak of a dongle can you give me the specifics? Are you going into a new iPad that has USB-C and what are the two ends of this dongle thank you.
Where can I get the small stand you are using for the Helicon? Thanks
Did you ever find a stand? didn’t seem like anybody answered your question.... I was interested in the stand too
I am also interested.
It would be very nice if you showed us how it records as this is the main task of this device ...? it's nice to see the amps simulation but not very useful.
Trying to hook up my GO Guitar Pro.
When I open the app, it shows just one amp, and speaker, and 4 pedals. When I try to add other pedals or amps, it ask me to “connect to TC Helicon Hardware” I am connected to the GO... what is the problem?
Its a con, you can only get the full features with go-guitar pro, unfortunately I fell for this miss-advertised product also.
Thanks for all the comments folks, too many bad reviews for me to consider buying.
How we connect d keyboards to go guitar mam
Does not work. Turns my headphones into a microphone when I follow these instructions.
Please explain how this happen so I can move on to record music. Is it a cable issue?
Please can this work with the mixer?
Yes
Is it stereo mini jack
How is it receiving power from the phone via the TRRS 1/8” jack?
The same way your headphones do! The system is analog so the power needed for Go Guitar is minimal :)
It will work with windows just not with TC-Helicon guitar rack software which is only for IOS, also you have to buy the go-guitar pro if you want all the features. Very unclear in all adverts, feel like I've been conned.
I am using two apps: tonebrid_ge and deplike. Someone tried with amplitube? , I tried but doesn't happen
whats the difference between go guitar and pro
I was looking for a device which I could use to record clear sound from my amp into my macbook or phone. I was excited to find this one at such a low price but I got discouraged to read that it doesnt work from a lot of reviewers. I guess it was too good to be true lol. if you've had success with the go guitar interface do let me know or lead me to some other low budget alternatives.
Does it work with android?
Which apps are working with this?
Any Mobile DAW that gathers signal from the headphone jack (or lightning port on iOS)
@@tchelicon does tat mean you can't stream with that thing?
@@tchelicon Not direct connecting to lightning port, for this you need an extra (expensive) adapter
@@tchelicon I just got It delivered thids morning. Using android, no apps compatible from TC Helicon. The only alternative found is Tonebridge, which offers dreadful latency. Please, any suggestions before I send It back and ask for a refund? Thanks in advance.
Why if it's a good device Tc-Telicon stop production ?
telling about android support - no info about it at all. usb type-c to 3.5 jack adapter support? digital, analog or both? what apps can you use with it?
Check out the Blender App, available for Android on the google play store! bit.ly/2SLCcDq
TC HELICON blender is a differnt device...
@@tchelicon can i connect it to a condenser mic?
@@ck-ck We don't have any android support right now because of inconsistencies with latency across Android devices. If we could guarantee the experience across all phones, we would have an app out for it now, but we won't sacrifice poor user experience. We're working on the issue. There are some apps for iOS, like Guitar Rack, Go Record, and more coming.
@@karkon479 You can connect the Go Vocal to a condenser mic, but not the Go Guitar or the Go Guitar Pro which have an 1/8" input and a micro USB input, respectively.
Hola.
Funciona en android?
I bought one. Says it works with Windows, so that you can connect your guitar to your PC. IT DOESN'T.
Agree, i mentioned this before up here, the TC-Helicon website also still says they have all kinds of software /app's that work with this device but those app's are non existent ..
I bought this 2nd hand (new condition) but everything that goes through it sounds completely distorted :(
*and the headphone port doesn't work
Can I still hear the sound in the headphone even its plug to an Amplifier?
Doesn't work for me
sadly go guitar cant unlock tc helicon ios app/guitar rack
Yes a con, no mention of this in any advert. Rip off
But, can i use it with Deplike (only effects with my own amp)?
so this one dont work on laptops
I've plug it in my desktop pc, but i cant get the sound out. I have a few software amps installed but nothing.
Are you plugging the Go Guitar into the Microphone Aux port on your computer?
@@tchelicon you know it's not really working
@@tchelicon The device works well on my Android phone (using BandLab), but not on my windows 10 laptop. On laptop I've tried it using BandLab and Audacity.
How can i connect it to the pc?
@@canariosr6131 you cannot
How can i connect it to the pc?
I want to know about the same...?
@@jamesjudsontantepudi3871 Bad news. It doesn't work with Windows.
not at all...
It will work with windows just not with TC-Helicon guitar rack software which is only for IOS, also you have to buy the go-guitar pro if you want all the features. Very unclear in all adverts, feel like I've been conned.
The headphones don't work when I'm recording on my android phone only when I play back. What am I doing wrong?
I just got it and am having the exact same problem. I'm using a Samsung s20 fe 5g.
I have an Android phone but thought I may be having problems because it's a Huawei, but have established that's not the reason and it should work.
Can you use it for pc/laptop
no
@@ck-ck On the site they said you can use it on mac and pc as well. The TC Helicon Go Guitar.
info: iOS-, Android-, Mac- or Windows mobile/desktop
@@RoyPetrie how can i connect It?
@@RoyPetrie thi is wrong, you cannot this version to a PC, there is no usb connector /port on the TC-Helicon GO Guitar.
@@ck-ck It will work with windows just not with TC-Helicon guitar rack software which is only for IOS, also you have to buy the go-guitar pro if you want all the features. Very unclear in all adverts, feel like I've been conned.
Is it support ASIO drivers?
Nope, aso drivers are windows , so PC , drivers, this device does not work with your PC, just iOS devices using Garage band or amplitube.
the app shown in this video is not available, seems to be in beta testing still, so why not finnish that app first ?
Documentation also sais it is usable for PC, but how? It does not have an USB connector ...
Hey there! There is a micro-USB output on the back, which you can use to connect to your USB input on your computer! And the Blender app is available on the google play store ( bit.ly/2SLCcDq ) or App Store ( apple.co/2GDnfwE )
The Blender app works with the Blender device, not with the GoGuitar device. The Blender app uses Bluetooth, the Go guitar device works trough a cable device on iPad annd other iOS platforms.
There is no usable PC-software from TC-Helicon for guitar either,....
TC HELICON no not on the normal go-guitar, maybe on the “pro” but not on the shown device
Now the Guitar rack ios app is available, but no joy, it does NOT recognize the Go-Guitar device , all amp’s and effects remain locked, so more broken promisses from TC-Helicon....
@@ck-ck We never promised that Go Guitar would unlock Guitar Rack. We never once mentioned the entry level Go Guitar with Guitar Rack. Only USB devices can unlock the Guitar Rack. That's a technological barrier. If apps could identify products by their 1/8' input then we absolutely would include it. We felt there was a market for people who needed something incredible simple. Plug-and-play, which is what Go Guitar is. The Go Guitar Pro requires more set-up and gear. I do apologize that we can't unlock Guitar Rack with the Go Guitar.
Did all you did ..and nothing ! Do I need to buy super expensive headphones in order to hear the kind of sound you have in the video?
Same here. Pass thru works but if you try fx, nothing....
She has her guit-tar
Can I play live music in Facebook with this somebody can tell Me
I have a huge distorted latency..
I can't hear me playing while I record...but I hear what I played when I press play
Well, but the headphone jack isn't an input...😊
"Makes my electric guitar sound like an electric guitar" (3:56) - LOL there's a sales slogan for ya! Nothing new here, IK Multimedia's iRig has been doing this for a few years...
Lol - go easy on me ;-) These products are the first of many that are introducing a new and exciting vertical for us - mobile music creation! -Elli
@@tchelicon Sorry Elli, this is the internet, there is NO going easy on anyone... :)
But TC Helicon is doing it at a quarter the price of the iRig
@@LoganGratehouse and for seemingly better quality as well
@@LoganGratehouse Yeah exactly what I thought!
You can talk and you can play ;)
Helo
Android has 54% of the mobile market, while iOS has 44%. Not including Android in TC Helicon apps, and not being clear about that in your promotional materials, is not only misleading, but completely irresponsible. As an Android user who bought this product, this video is useless.
also you have to buy the go-guitar pro if you want all the features. Very unclear in all adverts, feel like I've been conned.
The App shown in the Video Is just Garage Band, an App by Apple that has no affiliation with TC Helicon. You can literally just use any App you like.
side note: Garage Band is iOS exclusive but that still makes the product usable on android and has nothing to do with TC Helicon. It’s a Software by Apple.
Headphone output does not work and there is huge latency between input and output. Don't waste your money.
@Arriba7losque7ladran the irig is the safest option
very misleading, most pedals are locked unless you purchase go guitar pro, this video says nothing about that!
Make it wireless and you win. For now it's very annoying device with a lot cables. Useless...
Nice idea! I'll make sure that gets submitted in our community feedback!
Then it will increase latency...basics of communication network.
What a rip off don't buy. You need special software and hardware, too. Don't buy.
Pretty obvious who the target market for all this TC crap is...
Not obvious to me who would want this.. but not for me.....
I have the TC GTX and I like it.
What about Android Apps connectivity. The majority of the world uses Android. This review is limited about the TC Helicon Go Guitar.
What's the Latency on an Android phone and which version of Android is compatible also is required.
