Thanks for sharing your story man! I wish more creators would talk about this stuff because everyone is dealing with something similar. I burnt myself out getting to the point where I quit my day job to go full time on youtube. And then i burnt myself out again trying to keep up with lofty goals and constant self-comparison to other creators while having a busy life and 2 young kids. It's an all you can eat pie contest and the only reward is more pie. If the main goal is tied to number of videos, views, money, growing faster, or receiving more recognition than other youtubers etc. it's never going to have a healthy outcome. So now I set goals that include those things to a lesser extent (for example, I need to make money to support my family), but I focus on more positive goals like creating more entertaining and quality content instead of pumping out videos I burnt the midnight oil to get out the door, being happy and unstressed day to day, being present with my family, leaving enough time for myself, covering topics I'm personally and creatively interested in and not just what will rack up the views, having fun etc. What is the amount of videos I can reasonably create in a year while still achieving those things? Usually it's a lot lower than I think and that's ok. It sounds like you've got a lot of stuff going and you've already achieved success and have a super-engaged audience that will stick with you, so be kind to yourself!
I appreciate the kind words! Thanks for giving a little insight into your life as well! I'm actually disappointed that more people don't share their real experience. For me, this video and the year of life behind it was never meant to be a "whoa is me", it was honestly meant to address the 100+ comments, DM's, emails, etc. related to me not posting at the same level. Funny enough, this is my only video with negative subscribers gained hahah!
I can attest to the burnout... It never hit me hard but I felt the pressure for sure, especially filming and editing for 2 channels. The thought of going full time sounds like winning the lottery, but at the same time I think it would consume me worse than having a career and doing this on the side.
I'd love to chat some time!
Damn dude that was some ride. That said, in every ride we grow which i'm sure is exactly what you've done! Do you first, because in the grand scheme of things, none of that garbage matters. You'll find that out when your sitting where I am at 60 years of age. Looking back on all the BS i've endured, it didn't matter!! The only thing that matters is YOU and YOUR FAMILY! Keep on Rocking my brother!
I appreciate the kind words man!
Bro! You need to give yourself some grace man, you s got a lot going on, and 26 videos which means a video every other week is pretty damn good, especially for people like me who are still learning to smoke, I’ve learned a lot from you videos, you’re doing a great job! Hope you see this comment
I appreciate the support! I'm glad to hear that my videos have helped! This community is why i keep doing it!
You took UA-cam to a whole new level right there. Your content is fantastic not just because you have food images that make me drool on my laptop or because your content is so well crafted, but because you are authentic. I hope things for you continue to be on the up and up.
PS - Traeger is getting delivered this week after my Masterbuilt meltdown of 2024. :)
Thanks for the kind words
Came to your channel for help assembling a grill, but left as a true fan of yours! All I want to say is, keep kicking a**! You have a strong team combined of family, friends and followers behind you! 💪
Thanks for the kind words!
Keep your head up Andrew! You’ve worked your tail off to get to this point.
Its been one hell of journey, but its been fun! Sure a couple bumps in the road, but they are water under the bridge at this point!
It's great to hear that you're in a much better place. I'm sure I speak for a lot of your subscribers when I say that we look forward to you providing us with more awesome video content. May God continue to bless you!
Glad to hear you made it through those rough times. I just found your videos of the masterbuilt 800 after I purchased one. I've watched you build yours and knew what to expect when mines was shipped to my house. I thought dang that's a lot of pieces to put together 😮. And I also knew I was going to need someone to help. I could've had it shipped to the store but I wouldn't have received it until this week. Having it shipped to my house it came in a couple days. Also I could've had them assemble it for free but I wanted it sooner. I look forward to seeing more videos I know you're very busy juggling all sorts of obligations.
Having just gotten my first smoker last summer, your channel has been an invaluable resource for me to learn and enjoy this new passion I've found. I appreciate your commitment to your viewers, but just know that even when you aren't making new videos, your channel is helping a lot of people like me. Best wishes to you for good things ahead.
Glad to hear that my videos have been helpful! I appreciate the support!
Glad to hear that you are in a better place. Yours is one of a few channels that I will check out when I need to know how to smoke something. You are very good at what you put out there so please for our sake as well as your own keep them coming.
I appreciate that!
Reaching out buddy, I understand how challenging it can be to juggle a job, family, and your UA-cam creator pursuits. You're doing an amazing job, and I admire your dedication.
Thank you again for recommending the Masterbuiltit's been a game-changer for me! Best BBQ I've purchased and I run that and a Komodo Kamado plus some Aussie made flat plates.
Since your workplace noticed your incredible talent in creating content, it surprising that your company hasn't tapped into that potential for their social media. I'm not sure how big they are, but I think you could elevate their brand. My Two Cents.
Hang in there, and remember that your hard work doesn't go unnoticed! Family wise, UA-cam Family wise or Work Wise.
Glad you’re back! I learned a lot from watching your videos. From recipes and techniques to help getting my first real smoker. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us.
It’s going to be a good year!
You do you. I'm proud of you. Family, work, hobbies and a passion for figuring things out is what it's all about.
I appreciate that
I just subscribed to your channel before I saw this video, and I'm definitely impressed with your channel, I'm also impressed with this video and keeping it real with your subscribers, keep up the amazing work and don't quit!
I appreciate the support!
I’m ready can’t wait!!!! I have the 20X42…….can’t wait to see you teach me more ideas to try on it!!!
Thanks for the update and for the insights to your personal self! I’m looking forward to more vids when you have time. No rush
I appreciate the support!
Glad you made it through… your show is the first show I started with… keep up the great work buddy 💯👍
I appreciate the support!
Awesome. Thank for the insight on your life. I love your work and will definitely watch them all. You do you and take care of you and yours. Love ya dude.
I appreciate the support Keith!
Man, I get it. Life is insane and I'n glad you're doing well. We all go through our ups and downs. 26 videos isn't anything to sneeze at. It's impressive. I can't wait to see what you have cooking in future episodes. I have a back log of your recipes I want to try.
We will have to get together this summer and make some food!
@@AndersonsSmokeShow 100%. I did a couple pork butts today for pulled pork and it was pretty great.
Glad everything is back on track ❤️
Unfortunately life gets in the way of fun stuff sometimes, but you are here, stronger than ever, you are human, that isn’t a failing.
Keep making more for us to enjoy.
Love & peace 😊
I appreciate the support!
Congrats on the grind an making it happen. That’s part of the American dream, and being self employed. Been there an I’m thankful for it. No I’m not a social media company, I’m a home builder. But I have went through the grind for almost half my life now, 18 years.
Brother, you have no need to apologize to your audience. You're extremely busy and your heart's in the right place. You're a lucky man, so ease up on yourself and enjoy life!
Just want to say I loved everyone of those videos and whatever happens god bless you because you deserve it thanks
I appreciate that John!
Thanks for all the great videos in 2024. And I can't wait to see the Lone Star videos.
HELL YEAH!!! LET"S GO! I'm new here, by the way. I seen a couple videos, and I was hooked. Then I seen this video, and was blown away. I'm already excited for the things to come from ya.
Pure class act! I am a new subscriber and I have really enjoyed watching and learning the content you have already posted. I am also really looking forward to following and watching your future videos. Please keep doing what your doing and posting awesome content!
Wow! I wouldn't have thought that a youtube channel about grilling would be a conflict of interest with what we do at work. Back in the 90's I used to do a side job building control panels for my Dad's company.I did that for about 12 years. I even reported it to the company and they never investigated me. I guess that just means you're doing such a great job that they took notice of you. By the way I've loved working with you also.
Yeah it came as a shock to me, but it is what it is. Water under the bridge at this point!
It's been a pleasure working with you as well!
Glad you were able to navigate through the speed bumps of life, seems like you're on solid ground and ready to hit the 24-grill season full on. Always liked your approach to cooking and the format of the channel. Like others on here that have commented, your no BS and technical approach is what I look for in a channel. Good luck and can't wait to see your first cook on the new smoker...
I appreciate the support!
Hey man, I've followed you for a while, ever since I got my Camp Chef ~2 years ago. You're my first go-to when I'm trying out a new recipe or technique, even before I go to Meat Church's channel.
But one of the reasons that I've always loved your channel is how genuine you are. No stupid gimmicks, personas, no phony personalities, none of that, you're just a good guy who wants to share his passion with others.
Really appreciated this video especially. Just straight talk about your experiences - the good, the bad, everything in between. Keep up the fantastic work, and I'm glad that you're in a better place.
Thanks for the kind words, and for the continued support!
I was one of those subs that watched and put to use your oven ribs. Thanks!
Glad you're back Bro! You were missed, I think your's was probably the very first series of video's I ever watched when I started my smoking journey. Cut yourself some slack, life moves fast and it's not easy to keep up let alone stay ahead all of the time.
Appreciate the support Tim!
From a guy with a full time job and a full time biz on the side... I feel you. Before bookkeeping and a lengthy drive time, I am a solid 72-76 hours a week. Every. Single. Week. Not having a contest with anyone, just sayin that I can relate. You being so open and forthcoming is remarkably admirable, but your apologies are unnecessary. You are pretty awesome and I will stay tuned in. And so will all the guys I send your vids to.
PS... my PB cabinet smoker just died for the 3rd time. Was eyeballing the Mammoth and the XXL Pro. Goin with the pro I think. Just gotta get the scratch together. Dont think I can swing a Lone Star, sorry to say.... they are nice though.
Stay awesome.
Its a serious grind!
Glad that you got through everything ok man love what you do and love the channel
I appreciate the support!
I'm sorry that you went through rough times... Maybe it's a good thing that I didn't notice that you went through a rough period in your life and I also didn't miss content, so don't feel bad about your subscribers! You did bring video's that really got me on my way and I thank you for that. It's sad that a corporation needs investigating the extra activities assuming there wasn't a noticeable degradation in your career work. I just hope your life is back on track and 2024 really offer you the fruits of your labor without harassment from whatever third party. Keep on smokin'
Well you are a far more successful UA-camr than I am, or ever will be. Simply because you have ambition. I have career too. I have no ambition. UA-cam is just a hobby for me and I treat it as nothing more than that. I’ve had my channel for over seven years and I want to quit everyday. Yet, the enigma is I also want to continue it every day. 2020 was the worst year of my life. Two hurricanes destroyed my home and my wife passed away. I lost a house and a spouse in 6 weeks time. I wanted to join her. I almost did. Yes I was that low. YET, this UA-cam hobby saved me it helped me and fellow UA-camrs reached out to me. It gave me something else to think about other than tragedy. So I won’t quit it, I consider it daily, but I won’t quit. It gives this lonely old widower man something to do.
Thanks for sharing your story Andrew.
You are one of our favorites! We watch and always enjoy your excellent videos, and use some of your recipes. THANK YOU and all the best for the remainder of 2024!
I appreciate the support!
Keep your head up dude. You are working your ASS off. You need down time, you need to give yourself some grace and most importantly you need to be gentle with yourself. You have persevered through a challenging year and came out strong. 2023 was bad for me, lots of death around me of friends and coworkers. Dealing with PTSD and some pretty severe depression.
In the grand scheme of things, we are alive, tomorrow is a new day and today already happened. As long as you keep doing the next right thing, you should land on your feet. Keep making good content, keep cooking and if you don't love it.. it's not worth doing. Life is too short to do something you don't care about and doesn't make you happy.
No matter what the UA-cam algorithms tell you, people support you.
I appreciate the kind words and for the ongoing support! Cheers to 2024!
Glad your doing good
I enjoy your shows
You really get to the meat of the action
And this is a high compliment coming from a Louisiana Cajun Beer brewing Chef
You have some damn good recipes keep up the good work
I appreciate the support!
What a roller coaster ride! It's good to know you have taken some much needed "me" time and you've got your life back on track. I'll look forward to the videos, whenever you post them.
I appreciate the support!
Been loving the content since I started watching some time ago. Keep up the work. Your recipes and reviews are good content.
Thanks! Appreciate the support!
Being up to your neck in smokers and little room , can be a blessing or a curse but I see you are over coming that and sure you will continue to put out top notch videos. As for seminars , I wish Camp Chef would hold one here in Calgary and have you as a guest speaker. Cheers and good luck.
Yeah it’s a challenge lol! I appreciate the support!
Keep up the grind and thanks for sharing your behind the scenes life!
Thanks for the support Tyler!
I'm happy to hear things are looking up for you👍😊
I appreciate the ongoing support, and look forward to the spring and summer!
Glad to hear you're coming out of that rough patch. Best of luck in 2024!
I appreciate the support!
Man, a video every other week is fine. Don’t beat yourself up about that. I follow a few grill/barbecue channels, but one of the things I love about your channel is the occasional indoor BBQ video. It’s nice that you mix it up and, while I enjoy firing up the grill or smoker, I have made some damned fine ribs in a crockpot!
Wow! That is a lot for one man! All I can say is I’m sorry it was rough. I just figured you we’re too busy to do videos at certain times. Never even thought things we’re not exactly great. But, we’re still here, in your corner and glad you got it all worked out. I feel like you put out great videos! Get the videos out when you can! And thank you for doing what you do. Take care.
I appreciate the support!
Hey buddy…it’s really something you opened up and shared this with your channel family! You do a great job and thanks for everything and concentrate on you and your family first
I appreciate the support!
You're the reason why I started smoking with my Camp Chef. I'm a changed man because of you! I get nothing but rave reviews from my friends because of what you've taught me. Take a deep breath and refocus. You got this, and thanks.
I appreciate that! It's great to hear that my videos have been helpful
Take care of you first. The channel is great and if you only did a couple of vids I know I wouldn’t mind. As long as your good that’s what matters.
I appreciate thatI appreciate the support!
Can't wait, thank you!
Thanks for everything you do! Appreciate it!
I appreciate the support!
Hey my friend I'm glad your back love your channel just keep on grilling 👍
Thanks! I appreciate the support!
Brother, everybody has years like that all you can do is push through believe in yourself and make the next one better
Thanks Mark!
Hey your amazing! I can only hope to be a able to do half of what you do! Keep grinding! Your videos have helped me make some very tasty meals.
Thank you for all your bbq content. I look forward to all the forthcoming content.
I appreciate that!
Appreciate you, man! Keep on, keep'n on!
I appreciate the support!
You're awesome man, I'm actually impressed you got 23 videos out with everything you had going on. You're incredible at what you do, can't wait to see what you produce in 2024. As always, if there's anything I can do let me know.
Cheers to a new year, and a new set of goals! Thanks for the support Damon!
Glad all is ok. Love your videos. Just remember, family first.
Thanks! I appreciate the support!
Wow! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾GOD bless you. Praying that you succeed too. Aloha from Hawaii🌺🌴🌸🤙🙏🏾🙏🏾 Came to your channel to learn how you cook CHICKEN THIGHS? This is the SECOND video I have viewed so far. I am impressed with your “upfrontness and honesty”. 6/25/2024. Could you do a video on hamburgers on the grill?
Awesome update. Can't wait for more videos. I always look forward to them. Have a great 2024!
I appreciate the support!
I had just said the other day that I haven't seen anything from you for awhile. Glad to hear everything is OK and looking forward to your new content! Would like to ask if you have any input on the new indoor smoker. Seen it was finally made available to the general public. Strange though that it was put on sale within a months time for 200.00 off. Any input? Take care and get to smokin' would ya?😅
I saw a couple over that past years... not sure what to think. I remember sitting on a plane with Mad Scientist BBQ talking about his experience with one and I dont think it was bad.... but I think in general I'd rather just do it outside
I’m glad you got the rough stuff behind you brother.
Me too! Thanks for the support Richard!
Thank you for being transparent. Life happens to all of us. Im glad to hear it wasnt more serious. Im actually making you rupdated oven ribs next week. The point to that is, people are getting alot out of your content.
I appreciate the support!
Super empresed with your videos, watch a few several times. Because of your videos, just used your link to order a PG24. Thank you! Keep up the excellent work!
Thanks for the support!
Sounds like you are back on the climb up. Best wishes.
Thanks Steve!
Hang in buddy, your always my go to for everything I'm smoking...
I appreciate the support!
Gotta love corporate America! lol Glad you got your head above water. Now the big question....where are you gonna hang that silver play button when you hit 100k!? :)
Oh, I’ve given that so much thought! So much that I’ve decided that I’m going to purchase a second one 🤣
@@AndersonsSmokeShow wait! That’s a thing!? Oh hens yeah
No idea how much they are, but you can purchase additional. Not sure if that’s for more bragging rights, or for creators that are teams 🤣
This video got you another subscriber. Thanks for sharing.
I appreciate the support!
Just found your channel and subscribed and have been enjoying it as another engineer who also likes making real BBQ
I appreciate the support!
Didn't realize you were going through a dark period, but glad you got through it. Try to keep it all in balance.
Water under the bridge now. New year, new goals!
Happy to hear you’re in a better place now!
I appreciate the support!
I wondered what had happened. Rock on and stay strong.
💪🏻💪🏻
Sorry to hear you had to go through all of that! Your channel was huge for helping me choose my first grill and get started in this hobby this past. Happy to hear things are looking better heading into the new year! Looking forward to more recipes to try on my Woodwind Pro!
I appreciate the support!
Glad you're doing better man!
Thanks!
Greetings from C Falls. My buddy Brandon just got me into your channel
Welcome neighbor lol! Brandon C?
@@AndersonsSmokeShow yep B Collins. I work with him
@@AndersonsSmokeShow got me a pit boss 850 so learning through your channel different things
Kudos to you for trying to multitask all these responsibilities!!! 26 great quality and educational videos are much better than 100 poor and pointless videos that someone else can produce. This is where quality is so much more important than quantity!!
Hope you have a great 2024!!
I appreciate the support!
Family and sanity is priority! Your core viewers/followers will always be here for you
I appreciate the support!
Hey, life can suck. But, when you bounce back, you are tougher. You're the reason I bought a camp chef pellet grill. Trust me, you are doing fine. I'll keep watching your videos for sure!
I appreciate that! Hope you’re enjoying your camp chef!
Hey man sometimes you need to focus on you and your family, and 26 videos last year isn't anything to sneeze at! Keep on doing what you love and what makes you happy!
I appreciate the support man!
You're doin' fine. It could have been much, much worse. Enjoy life, every minute of it because you will never pass this way again once it's all over.
I appreciate the support!
Life is always going to happen until it doesn't. Respect.
I appreciate the support!
A video every other week whilst holding down a full time job, and running another UA-cam channel is just fine. There's no way I could do it!
Quality is much more important than quantity!
It’s a legit challenge to manage all of it! Crazy part is that I’ve been doing it for a while, but this year just introduced some significant hurdles. I would agree though, quality over quantity any day
Glad you’re not going anywhere ! I rely on you a ton for my own cooking ! Best wishes in 2024
Thanks! Appreciate the support!
Chin up and hold your head up high Anderson! Life throws so many curveballs. Stay resilient and positive. Me and many of your fans greatly appreciate you! Jeremiah 29:11

Everyone goes through difficult times and it seems like difficult times are what is to come in this day and age i subscribed to your channel because I felt you are an honest person and have some good recipes with that being said find yourself and then come back to be the best you can be here is to 2024 😎👍
Thanks! I Appreciate the support!
Wow
Met you outside of mister brisket in cleveland hts . I hope all goes well . If your selling a smoker, let me know!!
Heck yeah I remember that! Did you ever get a new smoker after that one caught fire?
your yard is huge. you can fit a lot of pits back there. i have over 18 right now in my yard. 30 in my garage, and 7 in my house lol. do what you love. dont cheat. or take short cuts u be ok..
Haha my wife would kill me
Take care of yourself, Andrew. No job or side gig is worth losing your mental health. Many content creators need and take a hiatus from time to time. If it gets too much, do it. We’ll be here! 👍😉
I appreciate it, thank you!
Let's get some more XXL Pro videos before that Lone Star comes in! There's still next to no content out there for it and you ain't looking back after you get that LS. Lol
I'l;l have more on the XXL Pro soon!
That's outrageous! What could possibly be the conflict, you work a veggie company.
Hahahahahah!
I dont see it as your fault. The company dose not own your off time.
They could have investigated you with out saying a word by simply watching your content and seeing your content did not reflect on your professional life.
I think its truly sad youeve been guilted into giving up what is a fundamental American value. The freedom to pursue happiness. Unless You're an engineer for a rival barbecue company, its not reasonable to see any conflict, i would see the opposite the company should celebrate you doing something that reflects well publicly on the driven employees it hires.
I enjoy your vides im a proud 980 owner. You explane things well and keep things interesting.
Henry Ford understood a happy worker is a productive worker snd brought us the 40 hr work week . Todays corporate America could take a lesson and understand they dont own our free time. Im watching your stuffed tenderloin while making this response. Ive done something similar for years with skirt steak. Thanks for sharing some of your personal life with us. Keep up the great work.
Hang in there man. Your vids are great but may be time to move to a warmer climate.
It would be nice! My dad and brother are here, so I don't see that happening any time soon
Absolutely nothing to apolize for. You do you
I appreciate the support!
I want to see the show where your dad bosses you around and you guys drink margaritas that'll be a good uplifting family show thank you can't wait I got baby back ribs in the oven boy I'm hoping they're as good as they look boy your recipes great thanks
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Appreciate the content but don't "pour everything" into things for everyone else. Save some for yourself and remember all of this should be fun.
I appreciate the support!
Sometimes there's just not enough time in a month but I tell you what you can do with one of the smock groups. You can let me have one
I know.... hell it's already mid february lol
26 videos in 52 weeks? 1video every 2 weeks, not bad and juggling life outside of you tube. Give yourself some credit and family time as well. Good job and good luck
Hard to believe but I made like 70-80 my first year while flipping a house hahaha. Talk about burnout! The truth is, those weren't even remotely the same production level as what it is now, so not ever comparable
I had no idea you were doing so many things outside the BBQ channel. It should be getting easier to film the content the more you do it.
Yeah.... It's a curse and a blessing!
How's that old Forrester 10 yr?
That was Wild Turkey 13yr
