    This is my go to ND filter for run n gun! 5 stops is s bit limiting outdoors, but it's a price I'll pay to have good color quality!

    great review and illustrative visual examples... meanwhile Nisi offers a solution for a stronger "version": a 1.2 stop add-on ND filter with their swift-system; but you also can use any other nd-filter with 86mm crew thread (which of course is not so fast). 👍👍👍

    I noticed that it’s really hard to use the hood with this filter, the edges stick out way to much.
    That’s the only problem I found with this filter.

    Thanks for your video, very useful. Can you tell us out of your experience how long does these batteries last for continuous shooting 1920 by 1080 50p? Please

    Nice review and great footage as always! I can however not recommend this filter, especially when using it on multiple cameras. It is impossible to align the filter! Ideally, the black dot should be centered on top for best polarization. No matter how I screw it on, it simply won't align. There is a noticeable color shift from blue to yellow when rotating the whole filter in your hand and the position of the black dot is crucial.
    We use a Simmod VND which has a second ring that holds the filter in it's optimal position. And it has no color shift whatsoever.

    Hey, great video! May I ask if you tested the filter on a wide angle lens and if so how did it perform in terms of any vignetting please?

    Have you, or any of your colleagues/acquaintances used SinghRay ND, or polarizers? I've used their grads and fixed ND, snd they are truly excellent!

    Hi, thanks fo share this interesting video. Allow me 2 questions please:
    1) I have to put the Nisi True Color VND filter on a Leica 12-60mm (lens of 62mm thread for GH6). How much larger should i buy it to minimize vignetting? I will use it ONLY on this lens.
    2) I need a sharp VND filter, I read Nisi is not so sharp compared to other VND filters. Is it true?
    Thanks

    You have 95mm NiSi filter? Did you use adapter 82-95 for wide angle 16mm on rf 15-35mm ?

    This is very helpful thank you. Really need a 3 stop ND for this weekend, so quite timely. When you say no Cross polarization, you don't get the "X" from this variable ND? Thank so much.

    Hey! Hope this message finds you. So I mainly shoot portraits/weddings but will be switching towards hybrid to Filmmaker. I have the RF 85MM F1.2. I only own 1 camera. Would it be smarter to switch 28-70? Thanks for the reply.

    Gibt es auch keine Probleme mit der Steigung des Gewindes beim 28-70? Ich musste mit großer Verwunderung und viel Diskussion mit dem Support feststellen, dass zB der Mistfilter von PolarPro nicht auf das Canon 28-70 passt weil die Gewinde unterschiedliche Steigungen haben. Wäre glatt n Thema für n eigenes Video!

    Hi!! I have been using a Tiffen Variable ND and am looking for an upgrade, but not because of any color shift but because when there is a lot os sun light the image gets SUPER washed out compared to if I remove the filter. Is this an issue with all variable NDs?

    • @weigertj
      @weigertj 2 роки тому +1

      Hi! I also had a Tiffen and it had the problem you describe. It gave a washed out image in some parts of the frame outside in many situations and it had a very strong color cast. For me Freewell was an upgrade, which is much better. And it looks like Nisi might be even better.

    • @cralwar
      @cralwar 2 роки тому +2

      i think its an issue with the multi coating, to prevent flaring and loss of contrast, my guess i Tiffen has upgraded their tech as thiese newer brands, i have several brands and the tiffen definitely has a less efficient coating , slr magic is the better of my bunch , but this Nisi really seems to maintain the contrast in difficult situations, and fits the 28-70mm f2 with th 90mm filter thread

    • @damiencooper
      @damiencooper  2 роки тому +2

      I think it is a problem on all glass you put in front of the lens. The image gets a bit washed out on the Nisis but not that much

    • @AndresArosemena
      @AndresArosemena 2 роки тому

      @@damiencooper Thanks man! I always have that doubt. I would love to see a comparison on that kind of shots. I would hate to buy an expensive VND and find out there is almost no difference in that.

    • @AndresArosemena
      @AndresArosemena 2 роки тому

      @@cralwar Thanks Fred. Yeah my tiffen makes a HUGE difference in contrast compared to when I take it out. Sometimes when shooting events and there is a lot of sunlight the image seems so washed out that I just take it out and close the aperture a lot, loosing the gorgeous bokeh but making the colors and contrast look better. Do you know if there is a site / review that compares that situation with different VNDs? If I was in the US I would just rent a bunch and compare, but over here I would need to buy them online and I don't want to spend a ton of money on VNDs just to see which one works better in sunlight and then have a ton of them sitting on a box.
