Hand wash in a bucket with hot water. Rinse and repeat then hang it up to dry. Also carbon filters remove the stink of weed. Only needed in flower!! So only hook it up when needed.
Some plants begin to smell early in Veg, depending what strain, but it's all personal preference and if you want your neighbors to know you got some gas ⛽️ growing
Thanks for the video. I have one comment on cleaning the round metal air filter: It seems wrong to air blow the dirt in the direction of the normal air flow. When cleaning I would think you would want to force the dirt and dust in the opposite direction of the intake flow.
We blew air in every direction to try and get the most dust and particles out of the cartoon carbon filter😅
vacuum first
I thought about it at 1st but decided to just blast the filter to see the dust
Can the metal filter be clean
you can but not simply with soap and water and isn't really worth the risk in my option, rust, mold, clog, charcoal piece clumps up.
@E.J. Growers Journal what do you suggest then I just don't feel like buying one at the moment I would like to use the ones I have a little bit longer
@saint85 how old is yours? usually, they last from 6 - 24 months depending on humidity and temperature according to manufacturers. But it doesn't hurt to vacuum, brush, or blow the extra dust and debris off when you can to extend its life longer.
Will a dirty carbon filter keep it from getting your rent to the right humidity?
Yes as it will be forced to work harder, imagine when you drink a milkshake with a thin or clogged straw 🤔 it's a big struggle. Hopefully this helps ❤❤
I soak mine in Oxyclean for 4 hours, rinse, then scrub like you are doing
It seems to work best for me by hand. I might have to try for technique next time
😂😂 so u could've just left it in with the fan if u think boring it is cleaning it 🤣
I could have but any bit helps make your product run optimal and so much dust was removed by blowing the filter
