It's unfortunate how much he was held back by reliability. If not, he would've been able to challenge for more wins and crucially Verstappen himself. would never have happened. it was clear from when Kimi announced he was going to Sauber that Charles would be the one to replace him, considering his performances and the fact he was the junior that ferrari were putting everything on
I think by 2018 he knew max was going to get preferential treatment aand he was shuttled back to no 2 driver like mark Webber before him was the deciding factor and the car rule changes to breaking systems was his downfall because even in the Renault he was beating Norris and Saintz in an inferior car and even Norris has said when he had a car to his liking he was great
I was never a huge Badger fan!!! But Redbull dropping him WHEN: Horner is fighting multiple fronts. The best Designer has jumped ship. Max has one foot out the door, and EVERYONE thinks they are gobshites!!! ........I know.......lets get rid of one of the most loved drivers on the grid!!!! Lets add the PR team for their list of FK ups!!!
was nothing to do with PR. He has been beaten soundly by Tsunoda this year, and you have Bearman who is only 5 points behind him despite doing 2 races all year
They are just a drink company doing their business and clearly know what they are doing. Public could just leave them alone, they are not going anywhere.
@@stibblr I agree, just saying that getting rid of the smiliest driver on the grid is not helping their already unlikable image!!! Lawson is the best choice!!! But Sort your image out first!!! No?
Ricciardo basically never won a GP with the best car. Huge kudos to him for that. He was mega in 2020 with the yellow Renault. The move to McLaren ultimately fucked him, combined with his loss of focus trying to live a celeb life. When he tried to get back to his old form, the ship had sailed. A shame.
Another Newey OTP driver. If Vettel was fan of infinity downforce, Daniel was king of late braking, braking with tremendous confidence. One of reasons why he still successful in Renault that PU fits with his driving style and also suggested that one of reasons fallout with Red Bull was that he was against Honda, despite Renault reliability woes. After transfer to McLaren his weakness was at full picture. Prime years 2014-2016 narrow hybrid turbo cars, when cars were nimble.
I wonder if you wakes up everyday wondering anything more meaningful than someone wishing himself beaten by same teammate forever everyday he wakes up.
I honestly doubt it would've changed much. He just fell off as soon as he got to mcclaren, and he didn't exactly set the world alight in RB either. I just think he's slightly washed up. And theres no way he wouldn't have been beaten by Verstappen every year anyway, well maybe not every year but as soon as the had a Championship level car.
I’d put Monza ‘21 in last. Norris would of overtaken him but was given team orders to hold position. At least the other wins he didn’t have to rely on team orders.
He beat Verstappen on the start, he controlled the race. Even If max and Lewis didn't crash he still would've won, even easier because Norris wan only close thanks to the safety car. If Norris and Daniel fought, there would be a high risk of bottas overtaking them.
I hope he gets a chance in another high class racing series. IndyCar, WEC or such
Weirdly, I can see him thriving in WRC
NASCAR suits him the most i guess

The only race I've ever watched in person, was China 2018. One heck of a race. One heck of a performance by Danny Ric.
I still think that Ricciardo's best race was the Monaco win but maybe thats just me
Lando most definitely did not "decide to hold position" because he couldn't overtake him.

I swear he had more than 8
He deserved more, at least
It would've been 9 had his pit crew had the tyres ready at Monaco 2016
And 10 if he wasn't punted by Stroll in Hungary 21
and 11 if Red Bull gave him the right strategy in Spain 2016

Deserved more wins but Redbull at the time only could get the odd win or when Merc slipped up. Shame

Tbh as someone who didn't get to see the the 2014 season I don't really get the absurd levels of hype for daniel.
I missed watching Hungary 2014 live, and I wasn’t even mad. But attending a close relative’s 100th birthday party doesn’t happen every day.
