    Josh, thank you for doing this video 👍🏽 I’ve been wondering about blackwashing forever but wasn’t quite sure where to start.
    You just made it seem far less intimidating than I worked it up to be in my head, so now I’m gunna go buy supplies and give it a go for the first time!
    Wish me luck, LoL! 😁

    This may sound complicated but it’s not. The best way to make that man bat perfect is to make a mixture of red, light purple, brown and white paint and LIGHTLY apply it to the inside ears and both sides of the wings. Trust me it makes the figure so much better

    Black wash gives it a whole new look and some dry brushing as well will make this thing really pop as well.. turned out awesome!!!! Going to be repainting my swamp thing I got in recently can’t wait to see how it turns out.

      What's dry brush exactly? Sorry for the stupid question but I'm doing my first. Just literally do a dry brush with paint?

    • @Grave24
      @Grave24 2 роки тому

      @@thedonofthsht76-58 it’s we’re you dip your brush in some paint then wipe it off on a paint brush till you have barely any on there then lightly go over areas of the figure like if you did a liter brown on the fur it would contrast with the dark and the pop of light color would stand out there a tons of painting techniques as well online

      @@thedonofthsht76-58Dip brush in paint and wipe the majority off with a paper towel. Lightly go over the area you want to paint and the tiny amount of paint left on your brush will stick to the raised spots giving you highlights.

    If you go too dark with the wash and it dries completely, you can still remove the raised paint with a Magic Eraser- just be light with it.
    Works great.

    Did Testors stop making the black wash both createfx and wood stain?? I can't find it online either directly or other places like Amazon. One online store had it, but it was priced at $119.00 for a 2oz glass bottle.
    Is there another alternative that works?? Thank You.

    As someone just getting into custom painting figures, this video was super helpful! But one question about the sealer.
    Does the spray on sealer have any side effects on the figure's joints? Like tightening them up or anything? And does that mr super clear sealer help protect the paint well enough to handle the figure without ruining the paint, or should one not touch the figure too much even with sealer applied? Thanks!

    Now a stupid question from someone who never does any painting like this: do I need to start with any kind of primer?
