i only vaguely know of dylan's actor from other things (he was in the new halloween movies iirc?) but this game has made me appreciate his line delivery so much - dylan is probably my favourite character so far, and a lot of that is because his actor knows exactly how to read his lines in a way that makes him likeable. it's very easy to fuck up the snarky comedian type of character, but they got the perfect guy for it imo
The funny thing is that even if Jack chose the bag the first time Emma would still be dumb enough to open that attic. She was anticipating death and thats what she got
@@JadenAllen It makes me curious as to what would happen if he chose to "down" rather than up to the treehouse. Like how did nobody notice Nick slowly healing? He was essentially dead when he was 1st attacked. By the time the other guy gets to him to save him, he can speak coherently and stand on his own AND keep a jogging pace through the woods. When he is back at the fire, I thinks his wounds are only superficial at that point, and it's mostly shock at that point. Once he is in bed, he is just laying there chilling, talking to abide like he isn't missing 3 organs and 6 pints of blood.
true. i thinks the actual actors face, plus model, plus movement the actors do play a huge role on how a mocap will turn out. if u have really detailed micro movements in your acting than u are a good actor, but maybe not a good mocap actor cuz theres more that can and will glitch out. thats just my theory
@@smol.TomatenSuppe ooh this theory makes a lot of sense. It explains Max's face in the beginning too I think, he has a super move-y mouth. Kaitlyn does more with her eyes/body movement than her mouth/cheeks.
I swear, Emma's mouth is too freaky to ignore. It's like if they tried to animate The Jokers mouth and slapped it onto a character in another universe.
agreed. there is something really off-putting about her lower jaw/mouth that i cannot ignore. it's all i can look at when she's talking. glad it's not just me, it freaks me out.

You clearly don't know much about these games and you're literally reading too much into what could happen. Sometimes the games give you the total opposite.
The scene where Dylan gets his hand cut off is definitely one of my favorites. It's not so much the gore that makes it my favorite but Dylan's reaction to getting his hand chopped off. He had gotten bit (more like mauled lol) and he knew that his hand was going to get infected because of Nick. His decision to tell Ryan to amputate it was incredibly smart in the moment. I also find it very impressive that he was able to make that kind of decision with how much stress he was under. From looking through the comments I've seen so many people ask "why was Dylan not screaming his head off? He had just gotten his hand sawed off!" Though that is a possible reaction for some people getting an improv amputation Dylan was under extreme stress like I mentioned earlier. Coupled with the pain Dylan's brain most likely went into shock to protect him. That's why he seemed incredibly calm and even started laughed after. When people are in shock don't really feel any pain so thats also probably why he didn't start screaming bloody murder. My favorite part about the scene though is when he realizes that he just got his hand amputated. His reaction seems so genuine as if his voice actor went through the same thing. Many kudos to his voice actor, who did a beautiful job. Anyways, with the shock fogging up his brain he gets confused wondering why Ryan chopped off his hand when he practically demanded him to and then he says "well that was a bad idea" like getting your hand chopped off is comparable to getting into trouble for being too mischievous. Again many kudos to his voice actor and the team who wrote the script for the game and everyone else who worked on this amazing game. (Sorry for rambling lmao this game is one of my all time hyperfixations)
MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD: What kind of pisses me off about Sean’s playthrough (it’s his playthrough and everyone plays different so I really can’t be mad) is that Dylan would’ve been perfectly fine if his arm wasn’t cut off. All that would happen is that he wouldn’t be able to kill Ryan and the police officer and the missing female counsellor (I’ve forgotten her name) later on in Chapter 8 or 9 when they’re in the family house. I’d imagine another werewolf would take his place, maybe Mr Hackett, and I’m fairly sure Nick gets locked in the basement by the hunters and Jacob gets locked with him, so it can’t be him. I completely understand the hyperfixation. I’m the exact same, and I wish my patience was better because I could easily play this game 100x over with how many different routes there, especially with different achievements like letting Emma get bitten (but not killed) on the island, Jacob can go to the island later on and find her after the curse is lifted.

Im curious now if it'll be any different if he searched the bag, and the zipline premonition, will it be a QTE or of Emma used the zipline somehow she'll also die anyway 😂😂 wait mever mind i continued watching and he used a life Lmaoo
Well I didn't expect that too, I believed there was a monster behind the door but I thought she'd have a fight with him not die instantly. Also makes you stronger mentally, you become calmer and don't panic easily when you're in danger, allowing you to deal with it better.
It's actually very intelligent of Katlyin to give Abi the notebook. It's something she finds comfort in, something that will keep her focus and let her body get vitals like breathing under control and they end up with a better idea of what "thing" they're looking out for. Smart.
I love how they see a humanoid figure that doesn’t at all resemble a bear and they are just like, hey have you guys seen those bears? They are faster than normal bears and they can run on two legs, must be super bears. Definitely 100% bears.
And works after how many times in the water...??? Also, where did she pull her phone out of... she was in nothing but her underwear and already over by the island when Jacob left her... did she swim back for her phone and then keep it out of the water as she swam back over to the island...???

ngl, I like Dylan's character, he has a strong intuition regarding things and composure while dealing with things around him which are great traits to have in survival situations. From the start, when he saw the camera footage in the office, I have noticed that he has been a good skeptic about the situation while others like Ryan gave him really vague reasons ("could be bears?" lol) to let things go. Even when he saw Nick's infection he had a great reason (and simple might I add) to suggest amputating it which was dismissed by others.
@@regan3873 It may not be far fetched but still Dylan had some uneasy feelings regarding it being used for something else other than tracking wild animals since he specifically asks "why hide this behind a closet when they are just trailing cameras" (not an exact quote but yeah) which was dismissed as nothing by Ryan
@@ruchirachoudhary5339 to be fair, it could be for catching poachers and the reason it being hidden could be so that if the poachers notice the camera they can't find the tapes in the room. (Sorry if the wording was confusing, I'm tired af)
@@CJTower. Yeah its possible, anything is possible. My point was simple that Dylan had an intuition that the cameras aren't for simply poachers or just "bears" he got a weird feeling and questioned it. Intuition simply means a gut feeling, something can be logical and reasonable to other eyes, but highly intuitive people get a different feeling in their guts, like spidey senses
omg i just realized the cabin that abi, kaitlyn, and nick went into is only unlocked because emma kicked the door down! this game has all sorts of helpful lessons, like breaking and entering will help your friends escape monsters
but because they broke it down before, abi, kaitlyn and nick didn't distract the monster by trying to break it down and that's why dylan lost his arm!! jack can see the consequences of his actions on the paths, it's rly mind blowing how one little action affected a lot!
Jack in the Quarry: Okay, everyone, let's think rationally. I don't want anyone to die Jack in Until Dawn: THAT'S IT, I'M GONNA SPIN AROUND AND POINT AT SOMEONE AND WHOEVER I POINT AT, I'M GOING TO SHOOT... except for Ashley
The hunters keep acting creepy yet they have every chance to just act normal. "Oh yeah, the blood will keep them werewolves off ya." "Don't worry, we're just trying to kill the infected people, not the normal people." "The economy is trash." "I would like to announce in this cabin that I do not want to kill anyone."
That's Supermassive's writing. They always like to make the mysterious characters who turn out to actually be good guys in a way seem really creepy and evil in a sense. That's exactly how the Wendigo Hunter in Until Dawn was portrayed until he was finally revealed to the characters.
It does kind of feel like they're forcing to have 2 main villains too much to keep player's on edge and engaged, but it's way obvious that the hunters are red herrings. Watch this series end and me be wrong about it though, would be funny if I had to ate this comment afterwards lmao
Dylan is the type of person you need when stuff like these happen, he knows how to help and immediately says to cut his hand before it spreads. Being able to not pass out is something, but being cool with it and having the strength to crack jokes is something else.
He also fucked up the radio call and was so anal about the phone call in the cabin that he could've made it in the time before the power went out. Asian chick is badass until someone half confident comes along. Ryan is a douchey teacher's pet with a chip on his shoulder. Nick is a chicken shit, but infinitely MVP...until his bravery gets him killed. Short chick is more likely to run on you than help. Emma is so annoying and loud that I'm surprised the whole police station couldn't hear her 50 miles away. And, even if Jacob was responsible for stranding them, Emma was leading him along and even says herself she was trying to make him jealous. She played on his insecurity over his relationship with her. And hurts someone who was real nice to her and supportive of her bullshit hobby. This circles back to Emma dawg
I didn't think I'd like Dylan as much as I do, but him and Kaitlyn are definitely kick ass in stressful situations. Maybe that's why so far we haven't seen them together much during shit hitting the fan.
This is what I believe gen z would be like in a horror game. The sarcasm, the phone call anxiety, jokes when people are literally dying. It's so good!!
I genuinely love Dylan, and his actor is nailing it. I hope he doesn't die... p.s. "herd of bears?" "yeah, I've heard of bears" is one of the best fucking lines. This game has had some genuinely funny moments.
I love how the game’s like “Yeah, if you open up this trapdoor, Emma’s going to die a horrible, painful death. Just to let you know.” And then as soon as you do, that’s exactly what happens. Like, “Told you so.” At least it was honest.
They did that in Until Dawn too. If you as Ashley choose to separate from the group in the mines and follow "Sam's" voice to a trapdoor...and then are curious enough to actually open it, a wendigo pops out and rips her head off because...why on earth would you do that. 🤷🏽♀️ If I was a Suppermassive dev I'd make a "Dumbass" achievement pop right there. 😂😂😂
In most horror movies...going up is all ways bad isn't it. I actually couldn't tell if he was serious or not because he said it so serious like. It's like...So the psycho killer is chasing you, to the left is a door outside. To the right are the stairs. You could probably run up, close the door and trap yourself in a room up their. Or better yet, hurt yourself pretty bad from jumping from upstairs down to the ground floor in a final gamble to escape. Then again, the other option of go into the dark creepy woods is also bad. xD
also when the same situation with the same outcome appears in Until Dawn it was the game devs testing to see if you 1. played the first game and 2. learned your lesson about not opening trapdoors in a horror setting XD
54:42 The way the creature is first startled when it catches sight of Ryan was well done. Just like what a lurking wild predator would do if it knew it was being watched. I love that tiny detail.
Dylan: Why did you do that? Ryna: You told me to??? Dylan: Fuck that was a bad idea I love Dylan so much. Jack I am crossing my fingers that you keep him alive he is an absolute GEM
I feel like with the theme that this game is going your pfp and name are awfully sus... U a werewolf, hiding in the disguise of the comment section? :'D
No one seemed to notice, but at 49:05, there are claw marks. In the first episode, there was a crow almost in the exact same spot at the radio station and Abi yelled at it. The old lady says "where the crows go the wolves will follow" and coincidentally, a wolf is there.
Where the wolves go, CROWS will follow. Because wolves are hunters and crows are scavengers so of course they’ll follow to pick at the bones of what’s left
"Where the wolves go, the ravens will follow" Ravens and wolves have a really neat relationship. Some Ravens will hang around wolf kills and be allowed to eat from it too and some Ravens will grow close to particular wolves and even play with the pups.
@@ctorres236 Actually, it does go both ways, I believe. Crows are known to lead wolves toward prey or carcasses too tough for the crows to get at. It's a symbiotic relationship.

One of the cards makes the fortune teller recite “Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night…” which is a quote from “The Wolfman” (1941). It was a nice touch.
I really love the balance between Ryan's stoic demeanor and Dylan's emotional responses. Ryan's systematic approach works excellently for the intense situation but sometimes you just need to scream at someone to chainsaw your hand off before you get infected.
Emma: "I will die a horrible death if I open this trapdoor!" Jack: "OKAY" *proceeds to open the door and die a horrible death* Man, the devs knew what they were doing lmao
I cut an artery on my hand once and it only started to hurt after about an hour. I'm not sure to what extent this would hold true if I chopped my arm off with a chainsaw, though... Being in shock is one hell of a drug.
I wonder if the each character is associated with a different card. Emma picked up the temperance card, and it seems most of her choices have been about tempering herself, holding back and thinking about her actions instead of doing too much. The strength card is obviously associated with nick, “what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.” Strength can both be used to hurt and protect and a lot of his choices have reflected that too, choosing between more caring or aggressive options. Dylan picked up the hermit, and a lot of his choices have been between being unsure and questioning himself, or being confident and determined. I could be completely wrong and overthinking it, but I wonder if the survival of the characters is determined by whether they follow the upright or reversed meaning of the cards they seem to be attached to.
I LOVE this! I don't care if it's in there or not but this is such a cool concept in general?! Like, the cards can only predict so much (I know that's not how actual Tarot works but still lol). And, I can totally see that being associated with the choices they make.
@@dynamite508 Oh! Yeah you’re right. Although she was in the vision of the card. So was Nick with Strength as I recall. So by that logic I’m probably wrong about Dylan being tied to the hermit, it would be Jacob instead. As I said I could be wrong. I haven’t even played the game, but there are some interesting patterns in the choices I’ve seen for each character.

Yeah your right. But it’s Interesting to be skeptical about it because of the phone line going down thing since it was as if he lied about the phone line going down since it conveniently broke down as he was using it, plus when him and Dylan were in the radio shack he didn’t say anything about the monster he saw out the window.
ok, but, if he knows about it, why would he be okay with everyone staying outside INCLUDING him? i honestly don't think he's in on it or knows about the lycans specifically... and if he does, he's slightly more of an idiot than i believed
@@jessieqk12 1:23:30 in part 1 this far in Mr. H has already pulled Ryan into his room he'd already told Ryan that the stories scare the kids and he gets these calls. The car isn't starting and he looks at Ryan and tells him he's right and Ryan says "What?" Confused.
In the very beginning, when you're wandering through the woods as the girl, you come across a "cage" that says "Silas, the DOG BOY" and a bit later it talks about the mother, who now wanders the woods, looking for her son and she'll "turn you into him" if she catches you alone - the spooky story. The fire that destroyed the caravan obviously had this fortune teller woman, who may be the ghost/mother, but Silas was definitely a werewolf on display when he turned under the moon. If Jack remembered this bit, he'd have a lot less questions. Maybe it'll come up again later as a reminder.
I think we are all glossing over what I'd consider to be the most important question of all... Where the hell did Jacob store that memory card from the camera?
Emma: "Should I open this trapdoor and die a horrible death?" Jack: "Well, now that they said that, I have to open it. Spooky monster up there!" Emma: *opens trapdoor and geta killed by monster* Jack: *surprised Pikachu face*
My theory: the two "werewolves" are actually Mr. Hackett's children. Thats the reason why the hunters didn't just kill them. After all, they most definetly have enough fire powere to do so. (After finishing the video its less of a theory now)
I think it’s Hackett and Thackette the brothers from the picture. Edit: because to me it doesn’t make sense that the officer would want to leave so fast and that he didn’t want his children to come to the camp. Or at least one of the brothers and the other is the guy from the opening.
@@gertskook SPOILER (kinda? It's about Ian, it's just something Jack didn't find yet, I guess maybe later in the game he can still get the dialog) Ian was supposed to be the mascot of the camp, it was a sheep, the sheep was killed by the werewolf at the start of the story, you can see its body with Laura when she is exploring the basement right before Max gets attacked, and you can find some papers saying that the sheep mascot Ian didn't get to camp due a fatal incident or whatever
one more, idk but : Ryan is actually maybe related to all this werewolf thing, What is Mr H knew that Ryan is like that and therefore he always calls him in private and talk to him, Lile that one time in the starting.. Ryan also sometimes seems suspicious, Like in the start of the game, he was sitting in the basement listening to that podcast, The basement inside which Max was killed.. he also insists dylan to not touch or go into the secret door back then (When they discover the camera room) But again, that could be to built up suspicion on him, like, if he were a werewolf, why doesnt he turn into one also his calm composure in contrast to the aggressiveness of the werewolf(like nick) And so far, He is helping the rest, but... idk man, There ks something weird about him, lets see
Jack: "Nothing bad has ever happened to anyone going UP in a horror movie." Me: *Thinks about all the horror movies where people run upstairs instead of outside to escape the killer...*

Ngl you can blame so much stuff going bad on Jacob being an arse and chosing to not tell anyone what he saw/heard...
Yep. All this because Jacob couldn't cope
MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD:
What kind of pisses me off about Sean’s playthrough (it’s his playthrough and everyone plays different so I really can’t be mad) is that Dylan would’ve been perfectly fine if his arm wasn’t cut off.
Dylan: “do I look like a doctor?”
Dylan 3 seconds prior: “I think we should amputate.”
Was he wrong though?
I’m an EMT with quite a bit of med school under her belt, (so technically also not a doctor) but he’s 100% right. Black meat means necrosis, and that will MESS YOU UP. I’ve seen everything from larva infestation to blood poisoning from letting (primarily) leg tissue die.

ngl, I like Dylan's character, he has a strong intuition regarding things and composure while dealing with things around him which are great traits to have in survival situations.
I agree about the other examples (amputation instincts), but the trail cams actually being for wild animals isn't far-fetched at all.

Every time they say it he goes back to talking about it lmao

“nothing bad has ever happened when someone went up in a horror movie”
Emily: went up a fire tower and fell into a mine full of wendigos
To be fair, he said movie, and that was a game :P
@@forkets86 yeah you right
There was exactly one wendigo in the mines. All of the others were in the asylum.
See the problem is that she fell down. She was fine in the fire tower.
You right
i love how awkward Dylan and Ryan are it's just great
It is very relatable
I really love the balance between Ryan's stoic demeanor and Dylan's emotional responses. Ryan's systematic approach works excellently for the intense situation but sometimes you just need to scream at someone to chainsaw your hand off before you get infected.
Emma: "I will die a horrible death if I open this trapdoor!"
Jack: "OKAY" *proceeds to open the door and die a horrible death*
Man, the devs knew what they were doing lmao
*shocked pikachu face* who could have seen this turn of events-
I knew it would happen it was basically the same as Ashley’s death in Until Dawn. I chose it the moment she said it would kill her
The troupe of, if you tell someone straight to their face exactly what it is, they won't believe you.
@@waffler-yz3gw you're straight up looking in the comments before finishing the video wdym???
To be fair, Her death was very very satisfying 🤌🏻
I love how nonchalant Dylan is while and after literally having his hand and wrist chainsawed off
shock n adrenaline will do that to yah lol
Wait, something horrific happens to Dylan? Yay!
I cut an artery on my hand once and it only started to hurt after about an hour. I'm not sure to what extent this would hold true if I chopped my arm off with a chainsaw, though... Being in shock is one hell of a drug.

47 minutes in and I nvr thought I would get a spoiler. Little did I know, I was too foolish
Oml I hope you’re right. I love this theory :)
woah i absolutely love that theory. that’s just such a cool concept :))
Except Jacob got the temperance card not Emma
@@dynamite508 Oh! Yeah you’re right. Although she was in the vision of the card. So was Nick with Strength as I recall. So by that logic I’m probably wrong about Dylan being tied to the hermit, it would be Jacob instead. As I said I could be wrong. I haven’t even played the game, but there are some interesting patterns in the choices I’ve seen for each character.
“Nothing ever bad has ever happened to anybody who went up something”
I guess Jack doesn’t remember the tower falling in Until Dawn 😂
not all was bad when the tower fell matt got out of a toxic realationship
SPOILERS - though it’s been like 8 years now
If I remember correctly Emily died when the tower collapsed, and for a moment we were finally at peace
@@Kierbear101 only mattcan die during the tower scene emily dies 2 chapters later
My thoughts exactly
also abi when she went up the tree
Jack: "If a character dies, so be it. Whatever happens happens. It's part of the fun"
Jack, 2 minutes later: *Restarts scene because Emma died*
Well, he meant "if character dies after player fails some qte sequences". Not "right after one choice without fighting".
To be fair, I think the lives system was a surprise to him, so he was probably like "eh, why not" and decided to take a chance.
to be fair he only took the bad choice thinking it would make more content, but that was the opposite.
He didnt know he had an option. Think he meant he wouldnt keep a save file b4 each decision or something lol
Its hilarious that his girlfriend already played the game, which is the ONLY reason the life system is even unlocked in the first place, as like a new game plus.

"is Ryan in on it" meanwhile: at the beginning of the game Mr. H tells Ryan's that he is Right about the podcast story and that's why they need to stay inside. Ryan isn't in on it but he has heard the stories.
Mr. H did not tell Ryan that he was right about the stories
That "herd of bears" bit was written really well I couldn't stop laughing when it happened. 54:06
Right?!?
Yeah I've heard of bears
dude wants to study quantum physics but has 1 braincell, i love him
That entire rambling monologue of him asking for help on the radio had me laughing so hard

The real mystery here is how in the hell did Emma still have her phone after swimming across the lake to that island?
Prison Pocket
Probably just had it in a swimming baggie in her bra
@@lonestranger1939 that’s wild bro😂
And which pocket did Jacob put that memory card into?

Why did he upload the new episode but then its not there anymore ?
I think we are all glossing over what I'd consider to be the most important question of all... Where the hell did Jacob store that memory card from the camera?
Up his arse
What memory card?
His ass

Emma: "Should I open this trapdoor and die a horrible death?"
Jack: "Well, now that they said that, I have to open it. Spooky monster up there!"
Emma: *opens trapdoor and geta killed by monster*
Jack: *surprised Pikachu face*
i was literally about to type something similiar to this on the comments section and then i noticed that and i was like "welp, there goes emma"
In the last episode you seen something moving over on the island that she went on
My theory: the two "werewolves" are actually Mr. Hackett's children. Thats the reason why the hunters didn't just kill them. After all, they most definetly have enough fire powere to do so. (After finishing the video its less of a theory now)
And sadly Lauren killed the girl. I wonder if the cop is the brother. And who was Ian ? That is still a mystery too
Is…is that even a theory anymore?
Ryan also sometimes seems suspicious, Like in the start of the game, he was sitting in the basement listening to that podcast, The basement inside which Max was killed..
he also insists dylan to not touch or go into the secret door back then (When they discover the camera room)
But again, that could be to built up suspicion on him, like, if he were a werewolf, why doesnt he turn into one also his calm composure in contrast to the aggressiveness of the werewolf(like nick) And so far, He is helping the rest, but... idk man, There ks something weird about him, lets see
