Mark Robers compliant nerf gun was hyper-optimized for metal (an isotropic material) and single cut manufacturing (micro manufacturing) so it wasn't surprising at all that repeating it exactly in wood proved to be extremely hard, or that the place it failed wasn't in the flexible parts but in the rigid corner. I think a slightly re-designed version with symmetric bows that arc freely through a central pull shaft could make a functional wood nerf gun that is just the right mix of simplicity and craftsmanship to be worthy of your store.
