They always end with a banger. "We just have 1 more thing to show you!" Words that have you burst with excitement. This time they showed us a game that not only did we know about, but also the game that should have opened the event. The show was an utter disappointment. So sad.
What's worse is that Sony is investing more than half their budget into live service games and has more than 10 live service games in development which could have a detrimental impact on their single player output this generation
I personally understand this and I am not too worried. PS4 had some groundbreaking PlayStation single-player games but their line-up has never truly focused on multiplayer. They want to dive into that market without sacrificing how great their single-player IPs are because hate it or love it, live-service games bring in major money and PlayStation needs it. I don't think the output of single-player will diminish but I do think we'll see more indie single player games
E3 2014-2017 was definitely one of the greatest moments in gaming mainly cause how PS4 was really the last console to have a graphical impact so seeing the games they revealed were genuinely so hyped.
It's exactly as you're saying Robin. The Showcase wasn't bad as an event but as a PlayStation event. PlayStation wasn't here whatsoever. Imo our expectations were not crazy at all expecting naughty dog, blue or suckerpunch. We'll see what the future is holding i guess!
It was embarrassingly bad. Only 3 first party games and two of them had a CGI trailer. Considering how this was the first showcase in 20 MONTHS and the first showcase that’s at least an hour long (or more) in 3 YEARS, it was embarrassing.
In opinion this is what happens when you SHILL! for a corporation and not wanting competition. That showcase just showed fans that Sony is not afraid of showing you how complacent they can get as market leaders. That's why it's suppose to be our job as gamers to keep them on their toes especially when you go up on price for your games. This showcase was basically a reap what you sow to the fanbase. I also believe it could've been a Jim Ryan move here to still try to STILL!.. convince the CMA that Sony won't survive if that ABK deal goes though and he is not afraid to take it out on gamers because he feels as though they aren't going anywhere because all they have to do is drop a trailer and the brainwashing begins again. Until people wake up this is literally a warring. People better express their feelings with their wallet's because Sony doesn't care about the words. They will care if those sells drop that's how you get a corporations attention. 👀
By far the best of the showcase for me. It literally showed gameplay, a thing this showcase lacked a lot. Not to mention, the game seems to still be in early development and they were confident enough on showing anything even if there is no release date on the horizon. Alan Wake 2 was something that I've been waiting as long as DD2 so I'm super hyped that's coming this October.
I was expecting things as well and I was extremely disappointed. Spider-Man 2, Alan Wake II and Metal Gear Solid remake were the only good things. But I feel like we should have seen more PlayStation Studio games.
Yeah, this showcase had no excuse to be this mid, especially after waiting for 1.5 years. If it weren't for Metal Gear Solid, Spider-Man 2 and Alan Wake 2, then I would have considered this the worst showcase Sony has ever demonstrated.
Assassins creed mirage is just so funny to me. Everyone complained that AC games where all the same , so Ubisoft switched to RPG AC games. Then everyone got bored of the RPG games , so they just go back and make an old AC game and people are happy. UBISOFT ARE LAUGHING 😂😂😂😂
The show , felt like some1 fart on my favorite food , lots of good 3rd party games ,0 interest in 1st party ....even when spiderman was showed up,i was like meh its spiderman. i hope MS teach Sony a lesson, because we need a golfclap to the face.
It was very sad to see the new direction for Sony. All the games we got were from Shawn Laydens leadership. Jim Ryan's PlayStation is very different and I'm not excited at all. We will only get 3 single player games for the rest of this gen, that's unacceptable
Robin I think Playstation is distracted, that Q Lite handheld, VR taking priority over first party, live service games, and an investment into cloud gaming tell me they have lost the Playstation identity completely. Unless they are holding back stuff on purpose, they dont seem to be aggressive at all or care about flagship first party bangers as the face of the company
VR taking priority over first party? Um, lol no. I honestly wish they were putting more focus on VR because they just seem to be leaving it to third party mostly.
You can't be "aggressive" with video games, they're either ready to be shown or they're not. Jim Ryan and exec talk saying things like that is just fluff language, just like "taking full advantage of the PS5". The secret sauce for games is manpower, that's it. All this other stuff you're listing just very typical of a company look to expand and diversify it's revenue streams in order to rake in more. After releasing three games in 2022 (H:FW, GT7, GOW:R), they're out of gas. Pretty much almost all publishers are struggling with releasing enough games per year, which is why Xbox and PS have been acquiring studios/publishers like crazy. Even with those acquisitions, it's still not enough as we've seen with Xbox and now with this showcase with PS. We're soooo far away from being able to make a game in 18 months like 2 generations ago
IDK either man. I'd like to say I've got no clue what they're doing but then again maybe they are good business decisions. At the end of the day, PlayStation is just a company that wants to make money. Project Q could actually be intended only for a really small audience but sold at high profit margins and therefore be a product worth designing for them. Whereas most of us just see something that serves no use to us whatsoever. Does that make sense? But I can sure tell you that I generally agree, most of what they're doing doesn't appeal to me personally at all atm.
@@RobinGaming The thing is that project Q and whatever weird gadgets and hardware they're doing doesn't really hurt anything, it's all separate departments. It's just unfortunate that the optics make people believe that they're focusing on other things because there's no games. But let's be real, all those PS studios employees are ALWAYS working on games no matter what other branches of PS and/or Sony are doing. But still, pretty please PlayStation, I want to see the shiny pixels sooner rather than later 😭
@@xavierarial24 Hit the nail on the head. Despite my disappointment, we did have 3 big first-party games last year so I'm not upset that things are taking more time and I am glad were not getting games announced 2-3 years before they release
Some claim they’re holding more big announcements back, but we’ve been saying that for 3 years now. I’ll believe it when it happens, instead of a “next time” mentality
Yeah, I would like to think that most people tune into a ps showcase to see what ps studios are going to reveal, same with Xbox and their studios. But there was such a heavy focus on 3rd party games that the entire showcase felt hollow for me. Why they even bothered doing a showcase, I’ll never know. And I hate seeing CG trailers and the fact that 3 out of the 4 1st party games shown had CG trailers was insane. Waited almost 2 years for this
I wasn't expecting Ghost of Tsushima 2 because I feel there would have been some teases or leaks about it before a reveal so that wasnt even in my head for the showcase but Factions 2 was for sure a lock for me and... nothing. I didn't hate the showcase because there was games shown Im interested but the lack of PlayStation exclusives was very disappointing especially after it being so long since a showcase.
I only really cared for Dragon's Dogma II and Sword of the Sea in this showcase because they showed what looked like actual in-game footage and look the type of thing I am interested in. I want to get excited about MGS delta but they only showed a CGI trailer and I can't get excited about fake CGI trailers. Again Dragon's Dogma II looks intriguing. I personally care very little for Sony's recent first parties as they're mostly always Western developed games which I am so sick of with the homogenous game design in the West.
Dragon's Dogma 2 showed what fans of the first game care about, that is gameplay. The game will be a delight to play, because despite being a fantasy setting, the art style of the IP aims for a more grounded/believable world, so even if there is magic and fantastical creatures they try to compel this more "realistic" depiction of said creatures and spells. It will be an incredible game if you want a RPG with action-oriented combat from people with expertise in games like Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, and Monster Hunter series.
Unfortunately not sure if you've heard it, but the main reason we didn't hear about TLOU factions is because it's more or less been rebooted, as Sony thinks they can't monetize it enough in it's current state.
Jim Ryan’s bird hair was a little bit fuller in the showcase, pointing to the fact that he filmed in 2022. So whatever he said there didn’t translate to the trailers that they pulled from the showcase. They made him look like an idiot because he looked like he was impressed with that slate of games. But in reality, we’ll soon get to see how the bird hair is actually doing in 2023.
More power to them! Idk what makes you think I'm "hating" tbh. I'm just giving my honest thoughts about all the games shown including AC. I promise you the franchise is not on my mind outside of that.
I'm honestly shocked by how many people are falling for the Phantom Blade 0 trailer. It screams fake to me and it came out that the game only started development last year. I feel like we've seen many of these oddly high fidelity game trailers out of South Korea and China only for literally none of the games to actually release.
Congrats, Robin on moving to your own apartment. I made this decision in the end of 2021 after my 30th Birthday. Luckily I have some very good friend who helped me and now we are even neighbours. My life changed for the better since then. I assure you it will bring your personality and life to the next level. Happy for you! 😊
The living Legend is back! What a trash show! Allan Wake 2, GHOSTRUNNER 2. Mirsge looks like trash I can't stop playing GHOST OF THUSHIMA on lethal eith my Duelsense edge the combat is GOTY
Oh Robin you musta recorded this before Naughty Dog’s Neal Cuckman came out and said the games having setbacks(people think it gonna get cancelled). Sony is to comfortable right now and there eyes on mostly live service is not what we loved Sony for. Single player gamers are about to suffer. In regards to PlayStation exclusives. We’ll be lucky to get 1 or 2 tops a year. Than mostly live service trash. The live service push is going to fail mark my words.
The expectation is AAA single player games, ideally being surprises e.g. new killzone or infamous. And I wouldnt wonder is the last of us mp gets canceled in favor ot Lou 3
The number of major game releases and especially their quality has gone down considerably in recent years. I attribute that to this list: - The number of live service games in development - The length of time it takes to make new games - The gameplay length of new games (every new game seems to be 50+ hours) - Constant remakes and sequels instead of original IPs The gaming industry used to work by creating a large number of different types of games with, in modern standards, reasonable budgets. That way there was a lot to show and everyone has multiple games to be excited about. But now with all the points listed above, we only get one or 2 interesting big games a year and I can't see that improving in the future.
We witnessing the downfall of Sony.. I know Redfall just happened BUT lbh.. Xbox gave players THREE games BEFORE Redfall and have Starfield and FMS coming AFTER that.. And thats known BEFORE their showcase.. Meanwhile PS hasnt given us a SINGLE game to call good or bad and after having a showcase for a hr plus I cant give you ONE PS studio made game releasing in the next TWO YEARS.. If Xbox sticks the landing on thier showcase ima be honest im selling this PS while people still willing to pay 800$ even though we have NOTHING coming but the 3RD Spiderman in 5 years.. Team green im otwwwwww 😂😂😂
You're really delusional if you think there's not much more to come on ps5. I remember a time when ppl complained that a game takes too long from the first reveal to the release. Now ppl complain that nothing gets announced before its near of being finished.
@@rare_form That's not the thing and honestly I'm tiered of capping for PS.. It's ok AT BEST.. ALL games have been remakes, remasters, and continuations.. What your TRYING to push of basically "PS just not trying unveil games early" bruh they revealed Wolverine the year AFTER the games Xbox announced in 2020.. We talked shit to them but scream our excitement for Wolverine and rise of Ronin and a BUNCH of games that aren't even gonna release.. They do mess up MORE than Xbox at this point.. After I looked at it PS released Ten games this gen Xbox fourteen.. Redfalls the ONLY game that scores below a 86 meta.. We clowned Xbox players cause "they were happy to play old games" on Back compat.. As we paid 70$ for Demon Souls on back compat and CELEBRATED it.. We clowned them for having 3 AA games and NO AAAs in 2022.. Meanwhile it will be OVER a year from GOWR to Spiderman 2, we literally accepted WORST but tryna laugh at Redfall.. Bro I ain't playing NOTHING but COD and 2k in like 2 years on my PS.. I'm tired of acting like Xbox so trash when they getting SEVEN games before we get one.. And the ONE we're getting is again the 3rd Spidey in 5 years.. I'm over it seriously.. Starfield looks fun af and so did HiFi Rush and I LOVE Age of Empires and they released it on console.. All these games come this year plus that new Forza looking WILD good.. If that showcase hits I'm over there.. Spiderman 2, Fairgame$, and Concord isn't gonna have me stuck to PS if Xbox has Starfield, Forza MS, Avowed, Fable, and Hellblade 2 in that SAME window.. Hell we in the twilight zone cause Xbox has 90% single player games coming PS has 90% MP games coming..
@@ktdagoat1289 I am not worried. I'm sure they hold back because of the Activision Blizzard Deal. But I get your point. There wasn't really enough games on playstation and xbox yet considering we're almost 3 years into next gen
How did they betray fans?? Because you play as Abby?? Because the lgbt themes?? I personally loved last of us 2 just as much as part 1! The whole idea that the game switches perspective half way through was genius! Granted I was also shocked when it happened but when they explained the story and the why…. It all made sense! One persons hero is another persons villain! Actions have consequences. One has to cope with them.

Definitely didn't "hate" the showcase because, ultimately, I did come out of it with at least 5-6 games on my to-play list that weren't there before, like Phantom Blade Zero and Cat Quest. Though, after some thinking it through, I ended up giving the showcase a 7.5/10. It was enough to barely pass but at some point, we need a better distinction between what qualifies to be in a "PlayStation Showcase" and what qualifies to be in a "State of Play." This has always been something that bothered me tremendously since SoP's inception. I don't mind giving space/time for 3rd party studios to come in and show off their games but when you label an event as a "PlayStation Showcase" then I'd expect that the things to be presented have some sort of benefit to being a PlayStation ONLY gamer, whether that be the hardware (which came in the form of the earbuds and handheld, the latter of which will be DOA guaranteed) or software. With the games, specifically, I don't think it's unreasonable to EXPECT PlayStation 1st Party Studios to be present and not just the newly acquired ones. If Haven/Firewalk can get a pass for showing up with a CGI trailer (as well as Insomniac at the last showcase for Wolverine) then what's to say that Bend, Naughty Dog, Asobi, Sucker Punch, Bluepoint couldn't do the same? I mean, just one teaser from any of those 5 or whoever was left could've held most PlayStation people over until the next showcase, which might supposedly happen again later in the year. Last but not least, to touch on the "benefit to being a PlayStation ONLY gamer" part again, I'm referring to the likes of having a game being either console or full-blown PlayStation exclusive or maybe giving players extra perks (quests, characters, etc.) for getting the game on PlayStation hardware instead of on PC/Xbox/Switch. This should be the bare minimum for having your game being included in a "PlayStation Showcase" imo. If you're going to bring the game to other platforms w/ no real benefit to getting it on PlayStation and you still want in? You can have a spot at the next "State of Play" instead. Easiest solution though? Just leave SoP to 3rd party and indie games that aren't exclusive in any shape or form to a PlayStation system (VR2 included) and use the showcase to highlight your big hitters.
wolverine or Spiderman and that's it sucker punches only made one game and that was naughty dog isn't making anything that doesn't involve last of Us bluepoint does even make their own and probably never will and the other guys literally made modern God of war let's just face it PlayStation has no game
i think us gamers need a reality check. games are just going to take long and longer to make has time goes by has people demand everything to look better. well except for insomniac they seem to be wizards. starting to wish they stayed with ps4 graphics and just used the extra horse power for stuff like more npc to make the worlds feel lived it. so games come out faster
Crazy how every generation, often at the start, we get some example of a game that is the best of its kind and you may not ever get anything better. Assassin's Creed Unity was one of those games, nothing since has tried to one up the formula of urban interaction.
Sony for years now goes down the wrong path. Getting greedier and greedier, people are tired of the life service model and they go all in. what do you expect from business people with their infinite growth...
Not gonna lie, i was expecting the freedom of Web of Shadows of the black suit in the new game. But at least it was somewhat decent, the other games though, sheesh what a shitshow
Interesting. I didn't know there was a difference between showcase and "state of play". I thought the show was actually pretty good! No silly talks and marketing BS. Trailers, gameplay, etc Overall there were 4-6 really solid games. I did like the partial focus on VR2 and that they are not dropping Support immediately after release.
There's soo much hype behind "Showcases" because theyre suppose to be the digital counterpart to your traditional E3 Press Conference. The idea is to show mainly 1st party content with a complimentary side of 2nd and 3rd party content to fill in the gaps between big 1st party news drops. "Showcases" are suppose to be a look at the broader future of PlayStation (A look at the 1st party lineup releasing within a 2-5 year time period). "State of Plays" are supposed to cover more 3rd and 2nd content than 1st party content but usually cover games typically releasing within the near future (6 months to 1 year). In terms of PlayStation-owned studios it was a pretty big letdown. It should have been labeled as a "State of Play" then expectations wouldnt have been as high
Gaming is getting worse and worse in each upcoming generation similar to every other entertainment medium. I was seriously thinking about picking up a PS5, I even have the money and a high end TV already (LG C1), but this will probably be the first generation i will skip unless i see any incentive. Almost 3 years in and like only 5 first party titles and none of them holds any candle of staying power, it's quite embarrassing. Never mind how long it takes to develop games these days or the amount of dysfunctional products released.
@Outlawfly I have a ps5. Seriously it's pointless lol The 60fps on Ghost Of Tsushima feels great but other than the framerate, it's pointless. The ps5 doesn't have any exclusive games.
I completely agree with you about Assassin's Creed Mirage. I have seen a lot of AC fans who love the original games get excited for it. I remember I did the same thing when they showed the gameplay of Origins and saw all the positive reviews. I got so disappointed when I played that game. I decided it was going to be my 10th and last AC game I play unless they return to its gameplay and story roots.
I hope that game pans out well. While I enjoyed Odyssey, Origins and Valhalla just didn't hit the mark for me. Even Odyssey was disappointing as an 'Assassin's Creed' game. It's been beaten to death but they literally do not feel like assassin games. You're practically a bloodthirsty warrior with the ability to crouch. Here's to hoping Red and Mirage turn out well.
Bro when I seen the start of the Spider-Man 2 trailer whenever it had started in the woods my heart was beating for another upcoming uncharted game showing up. I was so hyped bro but unfortunately I was wrong😅
Days Gone 2 would be nice and I think we’ll eventually get that.. Or at least another Syphon Filter.. However it’s hard to ask for much more than Ghost of Tsushima
I expected a little bit more but I sort of knew a lot of studios are attempt new things and building up 2nd teams so I never had sky high expectations.
Unfortunately i doubt it will happen, Facebook bought Ready at Dawn the developer of The Order 1886. And i think it was a week or 2 ago that some insider told that Ready at Dawn was hit with many layoffs.
The good: spider man 2, Alan wake 2…. The meh cause other events already showed stuff: ff16, street fighter 6 The bad: mgs3 remake because it should be an mgs1 remake instead!!!! FFS! Having played and beaten mgs1-4, next to 4, 1 is the best hands down. Big boss is overrated! Give us mgs1 remake damn it! Also no updates about kotor remake, a lack of updates about silent hill 2 remake but that may come later cause Konami does their own things like capcom and square enix, and lastly no updates on ff7 rebirth but as just said square does their own stuff too and their last one was all about ff16…..
On the MGS thing, it has been confirmed that it's a joint project between Konami and a large part of Virtuos Studio's (the latter is famous for a lot of ports and support on large projects, Horizon for instance). Think of them as a group kind of like Bluepoint, but from Singapore.
16:00 They surpassed everyone in 2001* with Max Payne on PC. Every game that hasn't required a mouse and keyboard since has been a disappointment. They convinced me to buy accessories for my Dreamcast. *Anyone attached to a console since then is a fanboi.
1. This would've been the best State of Play ever instead of the worst Showcase in years. 2. Why even have a Showcase bow if you still haven't got anything special to show? 3. The "We need a shooter to compete with the market. Let's throw all we got on the wall and see what sticks" Showcase
I personally hate the "state of I lay" spin you fanboys have givin it since sony did a lot of lackluster ones. If you gonna announce a presentation ,live, it better be some amazing stuff. Nobody wants to watch some Indie studio trailers, thats never good enough, leave that stuff for summer game fest
I remember death stranding trailer and I thought it was cg but it was this good looking! Nothin beats 2015 or was it 16 with god of war, last guardian and death stranding
Why is everyone so negative? This showcase was great, marathon looks amazing, the blade 0 game looks incredible, Spider-Man ofc and MGS 3 remake. Those are huge eye catching announcements. Stop crying about nothing being announced. If nothing was announced, maybe it’s because they are working on it so it can be great and it’ll be announced soon. Be patient. I can’t imagine you don’t have anything to play in the meantime
I disagree that CG trailers don't have any value. I think developers just use them wrong. I think in the cases where the nature of a game is a known quantity, we don't need anything more than a CG trailer. For games that are brand new, like Concord or Marathon, nobody knows anything about what these game are beyond the generic descriptions of them. These games require CG trailers that demonstrate the gameplay concept, even if those concepts are subject to change. I know a LOT more about Fairgames than I did Concord or Marathon. It might not be my cup of tea, but I have a pretty good idea how it plays, and certainly a better idea than the former titles.
Gaming in general is in a rough place. PlayStation is still doing better than a lot of the competition but that's not necessarily an excuse. Spiderman 2 absolutely shocked us all though if we're being honest 😍😍😍
I missed the showcase cuz I was working but I checked out the trailers after . I was impressed by alot of those indies . I always hear Skill Up saying most innovation today comes from indies . It made me realize I need to start paying more attention indies . I admit sometimes I only pay attention to the AAA stuff and I miss out on a lot of the Indue titles.
It makes me sad and a bit irritated because you'll see a plethora of people just shitting on indie titles or double A games, especially for smaller showcases that were never meant nor expected to have triple A announcements. It's a bit hard to even tell if most of these people complaining about these games are trolls or children who haven't played anything outside of triple A games. I don't personally play a lot of indie games because honestly I find most of them to be unpolished and not fully realized concepts but I still appreciate them. Some of my favourite recent games were indie titles and a lot of triple A releases I've played in recent times were, while good, derivative of each other.
Playstation probably thought all those live service games they had in development from their newly acquired Studios would hype people up. Then they should have least showed gameplay from them. And not just CGI trailers. For me i thought it was an all right showing, because i thought some of the indie games looked cool. But can understand the people there are disappointed
They REAALLYY better not bring Uncharted back. Neil already ruined my love for one game series, he's not going to ruin another. Just let it rest in peace ffs, it doesn't need to come back.
It was a good show if you like 3rd party games. But not if you like playstation exclusives because it did a bad job showing the future of playstation studios.
I liked it, it wasn't an E3 crammed into an hour event everyone expected, but I liked SM2, and loved some of the new titles like Phantom Blade and indie titles that look like proper gaming fun. And not to mention the highlight of the show; MGS remake.
The games wernt the problem im sure many of them will be good the problem was most of them was 3rd party on Xbox and lack of first party games and gameplay for new ips after almost 2 years of no shows was disappointing
We are getting helldivers 2 this year prob the only good looking multiplayer Sony game. If only they waited to show these games till they could show out like hell divers 2
I was really hoping to see what Factions 2 looks like but now I don’t think it’ll even show up at Summer Games Fest. I think they’ll unveil it on June 14th to mark the 10th anniversary of the original PS3 release.
Yeah I realized it after looking up some footage for the video. Never even was aware of that! Still doesn't change much about the uselessness of the trailer unfortunately 😅
They always end with a banger. "We just have 1 more thing to show you!" Words that have you burst with excitement. This time they showed us a game that not only did we know about, but also the game that should have opened the event. The show was an utter disappointment. So sad.
Agreed

I miss E3 2014-2017. Sony is neglecting first party single player games. It was why they won last generation
E3 2014-2017 was definitely one of the greatest moments in gaming mainly cause how PS4 was really the last console to have a graphical impact so seeing the games they revealed were genuinely so hyped.
And now we learn that Naughty Dog's live service game is mired in development hell...

Yeah, this showcase had no excuse to be this mid, especially after waiting for 1.5 years. If it weren't for Metal Gear Solid, Spider-Man 2 and Alan Wake 2, then I would have considered this the worst showcase Sony has ever demonstrated.
It is the worst, by far, maybe only 2006 was worse
Assassins creed mirage is just so funny to me. Everyone complained that AC games where all the same , so Ubisoft switched to RPG AC games. Then everyone got bored of the RPG games , so they just go back and make an old AC game and people are happy. UBISOFT ARE LAUGHING 😂😂😂😂
Thats how it goes haha.
Factions absence was glaring
That showcase was unacceptable we need ANOTHER showcase!!
Some claim they’re holding more big announcements back, but we’ve been saying that for 3 years now. I’ll believe it when it happens, instead of a “next time” mentality
Sadly... It ain't coming..
@@Nero_PR yeah I’m sure, I loved dark arisen on PS3 and replayed it when it came to pc. I thought it still held up. I’m looking forward to it.
I am waiting for FF7 Rebirth and Persona 6. That's all I am looking for. Got none of it.
Unfortunately not sure if you've heard it, but the main reason we didn't hear about TLOU factions is because it's more or less been rebooted, as Sony thinks they can't monetize it enough in it's current state.
Came here to say this, happy to see someone else has.
It's really unfortunate, and I wish it wasn't the case.
Looks dull. 😂 Look how soul less Snake on that trailer. HOPE KONAMI wont F this up. BUT we're talking about Konami here😂
Jim Ryan’s bird hair was a little bit fuller in the showcase, pointing to the fact that he filmed in 2022. So whatever he said there didn’t translate to the trailers that they pulled from the showcase. They made him look like an idiot because he looked like he was impressed with that slate of games. But in reality, we’ll soon get to see how the bird hair is actually doing in 2023.
Dude, maybe people just love assassins creed like you love uncharted. Entitled to your opinion course, but why so much hate?
More power to them! Idk what makes you think I'm "hating" tbh. I'm just giving my honest thoughts about all the games shown including AC. I promise you the franchise is not on my mind outside of that.
Lol Sony wont feel sorry coz they dont care about their customers
Not Sony, Jim Ryan doesnt.....
I'm honestly shocked by how many people are falling for the Phantom Blade 0 trailer. It screams fake to me and it came out that the game only started development last year. I feel like we've seen many of these oddly high fidelity game trailers out of South Korea and China only for literally none of the games to actually release.
Jim Ryan he needs to go
Seems Factions might get cancelled
So that answers that
factions i definitely not coming this year and honestly, i wouldnt be surprised if it gets scrapped entirely.

Will probably not watch another showcase live ever again and just look up later if anything interesting was shown.
I attribute that to this list:
- The number of live service games in development
- The length of time it takes to make new games
- The gameplay length of new games (every new game seems to be 50+ hours)
- Constant remakes and sequels instead of original IPs
The gaming industry used to work by creating a large number of different types of games with, in modern standards, reasonable budgets. That way there was a lot to show and everyone has multiple games to be excited about. But now with all the points listed above, we only get one or 2 interesting big games a year and I can't see that improving in the future.
Could not get into Alan Wake, seemed so repetitive I just gave up. Don't see what the hype is for, is the story really that good?

I'm super curious to see how TLOU2 will affect the next games sales numbers
How did they betray fans?? Because you play as Abby?? Because the lgbt themes?? I personally loved last of us 2 just as much as part 1! The whole idea that the game switches perspective half way through was genius! Granted I was also shocked when it happened but when they explained the story and the why…. It all made sense!
Jim Ryan is the Don Matrick of playstation and he will destroy the company if nobody stop it.
Interesting. I didn't know there was a difference between showcase and "state of play". I thought the show was actually pretty good! No silly talks and marketing BS. Trailers, gameplay, etc
Overall there were 4-6 really solid games.
Game development is getting so long that I think even though they try to stagger their releases, devs can't show anything in the off years.
The ps5 is pretty much a ps4 with the capability to play games at a better framerate. The games aren't there.
CGI trailers should be banned completely 😎

Plucky Squire was a highlight for sure!
AC Mirage looks exactly like AC Origins. Really embarrasing for ubisoft that a 9 year old AC Unity is superior in graphics.
