User-friendly and adhesive-free method to securely attach a silicone orbital prosthesis for a patient with failed osseo-integrated implants in the bony orbital rim. Custom silicone orbital and eye prosthesis created by dual certified practitioner. Certification is required in clinical anaplastology, ocularistry, orthotics/prosthetics or maxillofacial prosthetics to perform this. At Medical Art Prosthetics there is no method we have not developed or employed to assure success for our patient. Male status post orbital exenteration has complete confidence in moving and talking with his orbital prosthesis. His orbital prosthesis is inconspicuous and secure without bone-anchored osseointegration Vistafix implants and without adhesives. Here we are verifying that our patient can remove and replace his prosthesis in a predictable manner. This secure attachment of his silicone eye prosthesis to a silicone insert formed to perfectly fit his orbital exenteration cavity allows super simple, care-free prosthesis management and cavity hygiene. Osseointegration implants are not always successful in the orbital rim of irradiated patients. Patients status post orbital exenteration following treatment of rhabdomyosarcoma, mucormycosis, or other orbital tumors or those having complicated enucleations may opt for less invasive types of orbital restoration.
