I was diagnosed with cancer in my eye when I was 8 months when I had surgery to remove my eye I was 1 years old... ever since I was 1 years old I been living with a prosthetic... it was hard growing up n it still is n I'm 22 now it's still hard for people to accept me. But I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. These girls are beautiful with prosthetic eyes n seeing these videos makes me feel beautiful as well
chelsea aguirre Hey Chelsea, I too had cancer in my eye and had it removed when I was three years old. I'm eighteen now and I know it's scary that people won't accept you for how you look or just even by the fact they know you have a prosthesis, believe me, but hey forget about them, the important thing is that people should love you for who you are not by how you look, if not they are not worth it.
Thank u Priscilla lora lately it's been getting better . Growing up and going to school was the hardest but I admire your words . It's Amazing To Speak WITH SOMEONE WITH the Same issue
hi ladies!!! im a little late, but i also have a prosthetic eye (: i also lost it when i was 3 .. idk how lol .. haven't asked my mom and im 15 now.. i know how it feels to not be accepted and always getting weird looks.. i know... it sucks so damn much.. im afraid of never finding love :( well... yah... haha i would love to talk to you guys since y'all pretty young .. my ig is "esmeralduh.24"
I'm 19 and I was born blind and one eye + lazy eye. I got a surgery when I was in the 3rd grade that was an attempt to make my eye straight or straighter. It didn't work and I ended up developing glaucoma around middle school. (Also I understand your struggle growing up with mean kids, I'm sure that y'all have learned to just keep the ones who don't judge you around)
Anyways the glaucoma is painful and I can't see out of it anyways. How is living with a prosthetic eye? Should I get mine removed?
Taylor's prosthetic eye story has been viewed over 100,000 times! If you haven't seen this video we encourage you to do so.
We are so proud of Taylor's tremendous display of courage and thoughtfulness to help others. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
You're beautiful. You're amazing. You're one of a kind. Only an idiot would fail to realize that.
holy crap. i thought the real eye was the fake one for the first 1 minute of the video!! thats pretty realistic looking lol
My retina was detached shortly after birth, I'm a lot older now, is there anything that can be done for me?

I lost my right eye at the age of 8 and I don't feel confident about this yet as I'm not sure if I will be able to move my eye
Hey I'm 13 year old Sam, I was also born with Microphthalmia. I still have two eyes but my left eye has no vision and the eye socket is always shut. So it looks like I'm always winking theoretically. I was wondering if I get a prosthetic eye will it make my eye look normal. What I'm trying to say is my left eye is shut, is that because I have Mcrophthalmia or is that another issue. Will the prosthetic make my eye open up also? Another thing I was wondering, with the prosthetic eye, will it look where ever your working eye looks? Example: If I look to my right, will the left eye (in my case) follow? Anyways, thanks so much, I've been really insecure about myself lately and I just want to feel normal.
Sam, thank you for contacting us. You are not alone in asking these questions. Generally speaking, a prosthetic eye is designed to replace lost volume; promoting normal facial growth and soft tissue support. In the case of microphthalmia, a prosthetic eye, or scleral cover shell, can be custom fit over the eye to restore normal volume and retain natural eye movement. If you have any more questions and would like to speak to a Board Certified Ocularist, please give our Los Angeles office a call at (323) 462-6004. An ocularist can address your individual concerns and suggest potential solutions.

Very!
My eye was removed 30 yrs ago. I don't know if Ocular Prosthetics existed at another location back then, because at this location, it was G. Danz & Sons, and shortly afterward, it became Ocular Prosthetics. Over the years, I've had several prostheses made here. They do an AWESOME job! The staff is friendly, warm, very understanding, and I even got to see inside of the "lab" once (lab, or whatever they call the area where they make the prostheses). Their work is awesome, because the prosthesis comes out super lifelike. People can't tell I'm wearing one if I don't tell them. Thank you, Ocular Prosthetics, and thank you, Stephen Haddad! :)
Im 15 and im from Croatia, Im sorry if I mistake in grammar. As I said Im 15 and before 8 years I had an accident. Now I got disease called glaucoma. I dont know how much time would I have my eye, but if I lose it who guarantees that I will get prostethic eye ? How much does it cost anyway ? Please answer and help, where should I go to get Prosthetic eye ?
Matija, thanks for contacting us. The best resource for these questions would be your eye doctor. They will be able to refer you to an ocularist in your area, if you are in need of a prosthetic eye.
If you would like to speak further about traveling to Los Angeles, California to be seen by our Board Certified Ocularists, you are welcome to e-mail us at info@ocularpro.com.

I have a half prosthetic eye too. I had so many questions no one could answer... I'm so glad after seeing this video. My life has been changed forever since this and now people don't look at me funny. My only problem is when I look to far to the left or right or up or down, my prosthetic eye doesn't move with my real eye.
wow ..i also had that experience where people just used to stare at me and it was making me uncomfortable ..but now i havent changed my prosthesis but it had changed me ..lol ..gbu..!
it looks way too real than my real eyes..people always saying that i am wearing contacts on because i naturally got big eyes..i don't hate it tho..i love my eyes but i don't really randomly say it XD..or maybe i did
Is it possible to wear a colored contact on a prosthetic eye? (For purely cosmetic purposes -- to help boost self-esteem for a teen girl)
+Vanessa Edwards This is a great question, and one we have been asked numerous times. Unfortunately it is not recommended to wear a cosmetic contact on the the prosthetic eye for two reasons. Unlike a natural eye, the prosthesis is not aqueous enough to ensure the contact does not dry up. Also the curvature of the corneal dome, the clear peak over the iris, is not shaped appropriately to support a good fitting contact. We hope this information helps. Please let us know if you have any questions!
My name is Chimezie from Nigeria. I need a very good matchable artificial eye for my wife's right eye please how do I get it and I need it urgently

You are so pretty may God bless you.
Perfect eye perfect woman!!!
man she is gorgeous
by changing with prosthetic eye it will not effect other???
This is the first time I've ever heard about a peg implant. Wouldn't this be painful? I'm 34 and just now getting my third shell made at this time by Roland Scott. Movement would be a life changer but I don't see how this would work. My injury happened when I was about 9 or 10 years old I believe. If I just get an eyelash behind the shell it hurts like crazy.
Motility peg surgery is designed for patients who have had their natural eye removed. If you are wearing a scleral shell over an existing eye, you unfortunately would not be eligible for this procedure. If you have any more questions about maximizing movement in your prosthesis, please visit our website at www.ocularpro.com or call us at (323) 462-6004. Our board certified ocularists would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
I have only a one eye. And I want an artificial eye because if I'm applying for a job here in Philippines. They always asking what happen to your eyes and they always said that i am not qualified for the job.

Dr, Haddad made my prosthesis in 2006. I was, and still am, very pleased with the workmanship and fit of my prosthesis.
Thank you so much Dale, we appreciate hearing from you. Hope all is well.
she is beautiful.
ow this is really cute .. i wish i can afford that Prosthetic Eye so that i can take my niece to Ocular Prosthetics Inc - California Ocularist to get her new eye :)
wow, she is gorgeous
😢🙏👏👀
is there any permanent prosthetic eye ?
Thank you for the question. To our knowledge there is not an ocular prosthesis that is permanently placed in the eye socket. This would unfortunately make the prosthesis impossible to clean, adjust and replace.
how much is the polish?
Please give our office a call (323) 462-6004 or e-mail info@ocularpro.com to schedule a polish appointment. We look forward to hearing from you!
What about a donor eye?
+ELECTRICCLOCK This is great question and one we get frequently. Unfortunately, to our knowledge, the technology to successfully perform a complete eye transplant has not been developed.
Generally speaking, prosthetic eyes will help, not hinder, craniofacial development in most cases. Prosthetic eyes can also be worn without any surgery. Much like a large contact, the prosthetic eye can be made to be comfortably worn over an existing eye. If you would like to discuss your questions further, please give us a call at (323) 462-6004. We look forward to hearing from you.
Did you get a peg?
Katelin, thanks for asking this important question. Taylor, the patient featured, elected not to have the motility peg surgery. For more information on increased artificial eye movement with peg integration, please visit our website at www.ocularpro.com.
how much is the polish?
