The D606s are very common here on the island for the trails. They are long-lasting, and the compound is a little hard when the weather gets cold, so some of us like softer tires. I love the Shinko 520 Dual compound on the rear, which is not street-legal but so nice in the mud and slick rocks and roots. I went to a 90/100-21 on the front for Baja last spring, and I don't think I will go back to the 90/90 tires as the fatty tires take the big hits so much better, IMHO, and float nicer in the deep sand of Baja. If you have not found the Taco Moto Co. UA-cam site, Mike has a ton of great videos on these bikes, including what works well and what does not. How do I properly service these bikes, i.e., by the hour, not the kilometers. The KTM/Husky/GasGas are very different from my other bikes and require a lot more maintenance, but Mike has great reference videos on how to do the work at home with a few essential tools that will keep you and your 500 happy and having fun.
Yup, 606 on the 500exc for me, works so good in the mud, and sand we have up in the north, Prince George bc, Running a metsler tire on the front, seems to be doing good, so far, lots of snow here yet, So I watch your videos to keep riding , 😂❤ Great video 🇨🇦👍
