I bought a 2024 350 and the suspension is comphy and super easy to adjusts, best suspension ever ,both the 500 and 350 very much the same except more torque in that big one ,I almost bought the 501 husky as the weight is the only a few lbs more than 350.I spent much time deciding on 350 but really the 500 would be great too...these bikes are state of the art and Hondacis a old stale heavier platform, the kickstand is a disaster on these, watch that.I got mine with license and all fees taxes ect 11,000 here in Washington state.
@@simonladlow1513 Check your spare parts kit, some say the shorter screw is included in it. I got mine as part of Taco Moto's smog delete kit. It comes with the kit. Basically, it's shorter than the stock skrew so you can remove the cam spacer.
You might have to change the exhaust end cap and take the intake reeds out and get an ecu to get the max hp on that model. I have the 24' exc-f and i did that it was like 20 more hp than stock
Just did that, thank you! After reading this I noticed my Taco Moto de-smog kit included the shorter screw for the kickstand. So much better and safer now. Appreciate the note and hope it helps others.
Go ahead and put some pirelli mt21s on it immediately. The stock tires will get you hurt off-road. I also did the taco moto dynojet setup and the smog delete kit. Also check everything, from the dealer my idle was way off. Wheel bearing and swing arms bearings had next to no grease.
Thank you for the recommendations! I desperately need new tires so I will look up the pirelli m21s. I also just installed the Taco Moto GET SX1 ECU, De-smog, and billet end cap. It's a different bike now, wow. I have a few videos in production phases to share. Please keep a lookout for them.
Shifting gears was smooth right out of the dealer. In my experience, there seems to be a break-in period for the clutch like with my KLX 300. Shifting and finding neutral in the beginning was a bit stiff but loosened up over the break-in period. Feels like no break-in with the KTM if that makes sense. Subjective feedback from my perspective.
Great bike, I have a 2024 500 as well. Check out outback motortek crash bars. I added the crash bars, seat concept comfort seat, Rebel X light adv rally tower Acerbis 4 gallon tank and the ECU also running a graves exhaust with the Vortex ECU. Super strong bike. What part of Georgia are you in? I live in Acworth.
Great upgrades. I'll look up the outback motortek crash bars. I just installed a bunch of upgrades but have not had a chance to test them out. I got my ECU from Taco Moto - the GET SX1. I'm in North ATL.
@ I’m in north ATL as well in Acworth. Here is a link to a UA-cam short video of the same bike with the crash bars. ua-cam.com/users/shortsPGGckOSb3Vg?si=2gHrju7eQbp0_Dwd
Thanks! I'll look into that. I'm still getting the hang of things with this bike and went crazy on black Friday with aftermarket parts still to be installed. Cheers
I also have a 790R and think it is better at everything than my 500 EXC except tight single track and sand. My DRZ is more comfortable on the highway than the 500, but the 500 is a blast in the dirt. I just don’t want to spend more than 20-30 minutes on the road on the 500, so I don’t consider it an Adventure bike. It is an enduro capable of riding on roads.
So far my experience riding the 500 EXC vs. the 790R is same as yours. Agree, the 500 does single track and sand better but the 790R is better at everything else, it's like a large dirt bike. I rode in sand on the 500 that I would have struggled on my 790 at an event in SC. Cheers.
Yes and there are also deals going on right now with 2024 model KTM, GAS GAS, and Husky bikes that I wish I had waited for. Someone will buy KTM, the question is who. I remember when similar happened to Harley Davidson many years ago which resulted in them going back to their roots.
Thanks for the recommendation. I bought a bunch of upgrades on Black Friday including the red vibration dampers from BDSB and ECU from Taco Moto as well as other stuff. Haven't installed it yet though.
@@theEHWAZ I just to the Taco Moto EUC also. There is a noticeable increase in power but I got it more for the traction control but the extra power is nice.

Great video Michael! Very informative.
Thank you! Congrats on your new bike too!
Congrats on the new bike!
Thank you! It's a blast to ride.
For $2.80 the dealer has the correct bolt for the kick stand. Also, their is a new updated starter switch that is a free upgrade/recall.
Thank you for the tips! I already had the new starter installed but will definitely look into the kick stand bolt. Cheers
Got a part number for kick stand bolt mate ?
I need to look in the starter but button i had no idea

My kick stand bolt came out and the spot the bolt goes into is welded onto the frame and bent. Cant even fix it now
Keep the videos coming Ehwaz!
Thank you! Let's ride!
I have the Husqvarna FE350 and it’s really good!

If you haven't already, just unscrew the bushing from the kickstand and run the bolt back in without it to eliminate that annoying auto up feature 😅

9:04 what do you mean when you say the gearbox is smooth “for stock”? What would you do to change it it if it was not smooth?

Take the kickstand spacer washer out. I put the stock bolt back in; it sicks through 1/2 inch but doesn’t hit the chain.

Should have bought a 2024-5 KTM 450 XCF-W there 6 speed, less weight, no smog & easily plated
I wounder witch company will own ktm gas gas husky hard to buy when the future is uncertain 🤨

@@ridemfast7625 just the rubber dampers
Get Rid of those TKC 80s.
Yes, great point. I'm not crazy about the stock tires. Doing research for tires that are good in the slippery GA clay and single track.
@@theEHWAZ I went with the Motoz Tractionator Enduro I/T front and rear. Great Bike BTW, its sure one to grow with!
