You know what I would have liked to see? Cameron admitting that she did use the Galahs for revenge, apologizing and letting the rest of the team finish the game. I think that would have shown that she had changed, that winning the game wasn't as important to her as her team. And I would have liked to see Angie sabotage the Cassies, and Leah lose the final game, and then leave the field fuming. Then maybe a scene of Angie and Cameron making amends with each other. That would have been a perfect and truly happy ending to me.
I agree with you about Cameron admitting things, but I think Angie sabotaging would have been sucky. It takes away the legitimacy of the competition and defeats the whole point. If you can't beat them on merit then you didn't real beat them.
@@Julia-yi1zn you're right, joining the Cassies to force her team to let Olivia play was already sucky. And you could use the same reasoning to doubt if the Cassies victory was well deserved, after all, all their players had been training for the whole season and they took away one of the Galahs' strongest players, whereas the Galahs didn't have a choice but to rearrange to include Olivia, who hadn't trained in two years. That's definitely an unfair advantage for the Cassies... If you hurt the best player in your rival team so that they can't play, isn't it sabotage? If you make them play for you against their team, isn't it sabotage? Is it really that different in this case? Just that the Cassies didn't have to force Angie to do any of that, she did it all on her own. See, Angie didn't sabotage the Cassies but the Galahs, her own team, and so you could say that the Cassies victory isn't as legitimate as if they had played with their original members only. It would have been a fairer game if Angie at least had pretended to be injured in the middle of the game instead of joining the Cassies on such a short notice. But either way it would have been manipulative of her and Olivia. They chose to force their team to do what they thought was better (for themselves) instead of being honest with them and convincing them with arguments.
Unpopular opinion, I guess, but that end wasn't satisfying to me. Angie basically stole the victory from her mates to punish Cameron... and also manipulate her team to let Olivia play. I mean, if she at least had sabotaged The Cassies, I would have been able to understand that, but it's like the hard work of her mates during the whole season and their hope to win didn't mean anything to her. And so Olivia never frontally confronting Cameron for the conversation she overheard was ok? Despite being the team's captain? Isn't what Olivia and Angie did equivalent to what Cameron did, in a way? Because the final game was never about the team but about what each one of them wanted, and how they were so convinced that their goals were more important than anybody else's to the point that they would manipulate whoever crossed their ways if that was what it took to accomplish them, and in the end they got away with it. Man, even Cameron's ex got away with it.
I know right, honestly I'd have been pissed if my team had a chance of winning and then our star player quits because everyone agreed that we shouldn't let someone who was recovering from a 2 year injury play, especially in a contact sport. Not only does it kill your chances, it's also dangerous for that person
I disagree. I think it makes sense for Angie to not care about whether they won or not, since that's what her character has consistently believed. The teammates caring to much about winning is what caused feelings to get hurt in the first place. Angie made her point that the focus should be on having fun, and the Galahs seemed to be having fun during the game. She just helped everyone realize the importance of playing together and enjoying. Also, if Angie tried to sabotage she would just take away the whole legitimacy of the competition and it wouldn't have been a real win anyways.
I really wanted to love this but I feel like touch has fallen a bit flat for me. The development in cinematography and more ambitious cast seem to have lessened the strength of the story telling. Cameron doesn’t know the team before this so she’s not in the wrong for wanting to beat the Cassies, Angie literally joins them to prove a point but there’s no lesson learnt for her or Liv about making an actually welcome and healthy communication environment. Just a repeat of the lesson Cameron has already learnt. As a viewer I felt a bit cheated out of any kind of comeuppance for Leah, who is the real villain of the piece.
And she proved that the team was right, they said they were going to lose if Olivia played, and they did lose hahahaha Also, she tried to show Cameron that manipulating the team to accomplish her goals was wrong, and her way of showing it was manipulating the team to accomplish her own goals xD
Disagree with people saying they wanted Angie to sabotage but I agree this ending didn’t feel fully fleshed out to me. Feel like Angie and liv were being petty and disregarding cams growth that we’d seen throughout the season. Plus liv and Angie going behind her and the teams back and Angie switching sides feels pretty childish imo. I think it would’ve been stronger if cam had sacrificed to let liv play instead of Angie doing it. Didn’t show any growth from Angie - in fact shows some regression as she began the season too hard on cam and ended the season selfishly leaving the team because she made an assumption about cams behavior without talking to her
i desperately need there to be a season 2
