Thank you for these videos I’m a prot pally myself recently getting into the 15-16 range of keys and I’ve learned a lot from watching this video. There is always room for improvement.
Haste is the best stat, but haste loses values heavily once you hit 33-35% due to it having very minimal difference in your rotation as you would need around 40% to get 1 extra second off avenger shield, and around 37% haste to have 4 second judgement and sub 4 second blessed hammer. At that point mastery and versatility gains value heavily. Crit is not a bad stat for prot paladin due to tier set interaction, crit is an "okay" stat for prot paladin because of how it helps you parry stuff, and for a tank like prot paladin that heavily relies on RNG to mitigate autoattack dmg outside of cooldown it's a nice little bonus to make sure you don't get randomly trucked. Sporecloak is bad on prot paladin mostly due to it proccing at the same time gift of the golden val'kyr would, getting a 50% dr on top of a 100k absorb doesn't really do anything as when val'kyr procced you are most likely not going to die anyway so the sporecloak absorb usually ended up doing nothing. Unbound freedom should be dropped for Punishment as the blessed hammer it generates gives you holy power and can proc from avenger shield canceling cast and therefore improves your dmg as well as survivability, Lightforged blessings provides a decent amount self sustain healing for yourself and is more reliable than something like golden path where it requires you to be in consecration, Seal of Order is an offensive talent, for pure survivability Fading light is simply better as it on avg is anywhere between 15-16% of your overall healing while being completely passive and requires no management. Blessing of Freedom and Blessing of Protection are niche utility that is only good for specific situations, in general you will not be using them for anything except that one specific mechanic that happens once in the dungeon, you are better off spec into short hammer of justice, also cleanse toxins only useful in 2-3 dungeons so it's another utility points you can put elsewhere. The first pull you did at the start of the dungeon the big mistake you made is not putting wings on cd, the first thing you did after getting aggro for the pull should be sentinel and then divine toll for a fat absorb, snap threat, big dr, and then drop consecration/sotr spam, instead you use ardent, blessed hammer, and then sotr. If you were saving it for the second pull that would be fine but the worst part about it all is you ended up using wings anyway but it was towards the end of the pull causing you to have less of a wing uptime and using 1 extra defensive that you could have save for pull 2. Also for pull 2 you use wings at the end of the pull which is the worst thing you can do as you at that very moment have bubble and ardent left for the next pull, considering you are only fighting 2 trash just standing in consecration should be more than enough to keep you alive and you can have wings for the start of pull 3. For pull 5 you again start the pull not with Wings but with EoT into Toll, the shield absorb you get scales with your max hp and wings gives you an extra 30% max hp, so you straight up missed out on 30% extra absorb. For the pull after the third boss you use wings there instead of saving it, and if you look at your own bar you will notice you have only ardent and Bubble up for the next pull. Another thing is you are not using hammer of righteous on CD, it is your single hardest hitting ability if it is available you should be using it over literally any other spell unless you are going to die. Also as a prot paladin you should never bres anyone due to it costing you 3 hp which ties directly into your survivability unless you are the only bres and said person is required for the pull/boss you are doing. The lashers are free, you can aoe cc them or kick them individually if you want to, their casts take a long time to finish and have a long cooldown, moreover it is dispellable. I 100% disagree with looking at what killed you after you die, it is quite literally irrelevant information, you have plenty of time to analyze what killed you after the key is over, you are wasting precious time looking at your death log and thinking to yourself oh this is what killed me hmm what should I do about this next time instead of thinking about what you are pulling next, what cd you have available, what should you be prior targeting etc etc etc, not to mention he has a recording, there are time to look back at it later, you are in the middle of a key, your attention should be on timing the key, not what killed you. Tips: You can stand in other paladin's consecration and you will get the benefit as if you were standing in yours. Use a /cancelaura macro if you are going to pull ticks, if you BoP yourself and /cancelaura quick enough you won't drop aggro. Also consider getting a WA that helps you track your holy power better, in the video you are spamming sotr without realizing you have 0 holy power.
Something weird happe Ed where I threw on EVERY Haste piece of gear, just to goof off amd see what would happen. What I noticed is that I cannot get past 47% Haste No Matter how much haste I equip. I played this goofy 47% Haste build in a plus 10 Uld. It didn't feel any different what so ever from my normal gear where I have 32% Haste. I thought that it would feel like I have a Mini time warp/hero at all times but no, there's no difference. I wonder why I see a difference when someone pops t/w, but when I have higher Haste normally, it's just nothing. Can we Prot paladins even break 47% Haste naturally with gear or no ?
This was a great video! Really enjoyed how you broke it down, and don't overly complicate it. What add on are you using to show which abilility that you used recently? and how do you check combat log with details?
Can anyone else see the floating Damage numbers from "Eye of Tyr"? It shows up that it did damage on details but no floating text. I just want to make sure that it's Actually working is all ! I also noticed that when my shield bounces from target to target, if one of the mobs is in the middle of casting a spell thats interruptable, it won't Interrupt them UNLESS it's the first mob that the shield hits. Is that normal or is it supposed to be silencing every mob that it hits (that can be interrupted). Thanks for the help boys. Warmly , Shioda -Dalaran.
Throwing blessed hammers b4 dungeon start doesnt work, it will reset your hp to 1 after key starts. On first boss he just didnt aggro mob, that killed healer. He needs to play around cooldowns, its the most important thing im M+. You have cds - go use it on something big. You dont have - wait till cd is over.
Nothing wrong with rotation helpers while learning. It gives suggestions based on real data. You dont have to follow every suggestion, it helps folks learn the USUAL move, and you can actually customize it for different situations which many people dont seem to know about.

these kind of videos are so helpful for new tanks. great work mate
A protection warrior version of this would be great
Im starting to gear up my pally in s3, even though this is from last season, pretty mich everything is still relevant, great vid and thanks!
I love this content keep up the great work !!
Using Blassed Hammer's inside the bubble at the start is usless since your holy pwoer resets back to 1
You use shield of the righteous before it resets
if you use it 1 sec before start you can have 2 powers
Probably my favorite type of content, other than your seasonal boss guides
i guess im too old and out of the loop to figure all this stuff out on how to gear up upgrade like the details
great video, thank you

Hey friend I’m not sure if you have cleared out your questions but Avenger Shield only silences the primary target( the first target you throw it to)
hey sha, great vids! are u interested in some blood dk footage? they seem kind of rare...
