OMG, we're from Chicago, grew up just a block and a half from Cubs Park ( Wrigley Field) in the 70's - 80's, now my wife & I live in SW Florida. Great video & advice, thank you so much for sharing this, I'm new to this, so this really does help, you are AWESOME!!! Stay Creative, Rock On & God Bless.

I have a painting on a loose canvas sheet that is a little smaller than 6 x 6 and I want to mount it on a 6x6 cradled panel, I could either paint a border on the empty part of the canvas beside the painting, or I could paint the cradled panel before sealing it and mountng the trimmed painting. Which do you suggest?
I would mount it first and then paint the remaining border, and maybe also side edges of the panel.

Is this a permanent adhesion?
Yes, it's permanent
Can i use masonite instead of plywood?
Yes. But it may have more acidic content (depends on masonite). Also with larger pieces it should be cradled, otherwise it could warp.
I use a fat old cat when I want to hold anything down flat. Your brick is probably more reliable.
Well, if a cat is old enough to stay still for a few hours, I don't see an issue here.... 😆
