Bulk Gallon Castile Soap: amzn.to/2tOgjEj

Bamboo Spoon: amzn.to/2teKpUi
Window & Mirror Cleaner:
-1 cup water
-1 cup vinegar
-10-15 drops lemon essential oil
Shower / Mold & Mildew Cleaner:
-1 cup water
-1 cup vinegar
-10-15 drops OnGuard essential oil (or a mix of others)
All Purpose Cleaner:
-1 cup water
-3ish tsp castile soap
-10-15 drops essential oil
Toilet Bombs:
Some websites say you should wear a mask when mixing citric acid & baking soda; I didn't but I made sure my windows were open. I've used several recipes, some with castile soap and others without. I've found that the cubes without castile soap fizz up more when dropped in water, but if you add a splash of vinegar to the water (with either recipe) it helps the cube fizz.
Toilet Bombs:
-2 cups baking soda
-2/3 cup citric acid
-essential oils
Find the instructions here: goo.gl/nL4CCs
Don't use citrus essential oils or vinegar on natural granite counter tops. Melaleuca or Eucalyptus are safe.

Hi, I’m Alli!
I’ve been making videos on this channel since June 2014, but I’ve been watching youtube videos for much longer ;). Before starting this channel as my creative outlet, I was in a major rut and thought the challenge of making a video every week would help. I'm happy to report that it did! Making UA-cam videos is now my favorite hobby and I’m excited to see where it can take me in the future.
On this channel, I share my journey toward a capsule wardrobe, travel videos, home decor projects, healthy recipes, natural beauty recommendations, and more! My husband (Nick) and I are also documenting the renovation of our 1974 dodge travco motorhome: lovingly referred to as the Cherry Travco!

What do you recommend for stone counters such as granite or quartz?
Don't use citrus oils or vinegar as they could strip natural stone. I don't have granite in my home but I've heard this is a good recipe:
-1/4 cup vodka or rubbing alcohol
-a few drops castile soap
-10 drops of essential oil (melaleuca, eucalyptus)
-fill the rest up with filtered water (in a 16oz spray bottle)
V CR I use this recipe and it is perfect.

Few DIY enthusiasts warn of that when praising their vinegar-based ‘all purpose’ household cleaner.
As soon as I use up all my conventional cleaners, I can't wait to make my own! castille soap is so great for everything.
Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with all the different recipes for various homemade cleaning products. I keep coming back to this video as reference and inspiration as its so simple and clear. Please make more like this! I'm curious to know if you make your own laundry powder/liquid? Would love a video on this.
I feel the same way! Simplifying my routine also helps me reduce stress, it's the only way for me. :) I'm currently buying a powder detergent that comes in a paper box. I'll see if I can think of other simple cleaning diys for another video!
Thanks for the helpful tips. I have been diving into making my own products in home and love learning new recipes. Thanks! 😉✌💚🌿
Loved your video! thanks for sharing. I love my essential oils too!
loved this vídeo and tipo. those Fizzy squares are awesome im going to try them out!
Such an informative video! I really want to get into making my own cleaning products
Thank you so much for sharing these tips. I can't wait to try them out. :)
Great video!! Thank you for sharing. I need to get one of those shakers for my bicarb soda, so handy!
it's so nice!
This is so informative, thank you!
We've been using primarily natural products to clean our house for so long that I get a headache now when I walk through the cleaning aisle of the grocery store. There are some recipes in here though that I didn't know about!
Isn't that crazy? Fragrances are so overpowering to me now too.
I am exactly the same way, and having a hard time at work, looks like lots of people swim in a pool of perfume before coming to work, when you get off the elevator, can sense all this junk in the air, my eyes hurt...
The OnGuard essential oil sounds amazing. I think that will be my next purchase!
It's a great one!
I'm a guy and live alone and i like trying natural things for cleaning I did what you said vinager and a few drops of essential oil since I didn't had lemon I put an essential oil I'm using the name is grapefruit pink but what stinks nasty is the vinegar omg that stinks I haven't used that in my life is the first time but one thing i noticed when i was cleaning and wiping with some cotton towels since i have problems with nasal congestion I starded to feel better like I was able to breathe normal i was like what happened here why am i breathing without problems i don't know if it was the vinegar or the essential oil but I felt good lol plus my washroom and toilet were shiny also I cleaned the kitchen my room as well it was weird breathing good for once in a long time cause I wasn't able to breathe in like 10 years but anyways great video it helped me clean my house. 🙏 Next time I'll use lemon essential oil I just ordered a 30ml one
Go natural, just use nature's lemons. Perfectly balanced, no concentrates.
Love this! I'm so excited to get more into oils:)
I love these types of videos! Thanks!
Thanks for watching, Chanda!
This is a great video...thank you so much ...you're awesome!
Love it❤️ you're such an inspiration alli
Thanks so much, Sam!!
Thank you for linking your supplies and sharing your recipes! :)
Thanks for watching!
Love the video! Collecting supplies now! Would the brand NOW essential oils work?
Thanks for the video, awesome info...would like to know where did you purchase that big soap dispenser for your Castile soap, very nice!
Really great video with awesome information. I noticed your castile soap was in a large glass container. Do you buy that in bulk? I live in Ontario Canada but would love to know if that is an option and could may be source closer to my home.
loved this video :) your amazing!!
Thanks so much!!
This was so inspirational Alli, thank you so much for this. Also, idk why but you remind me of Lili Reinhart
Alli, will you do a vlog on different beauty tips with essential oils? Thanks for considering! Love your vlog!
I'm planning to make one soon! :)
YAY!!! Thanks Alli, looking forward to it.
New subscriber here! I enjoyed your video. I am using some homemade cleaning products. My next one I want to make is the toilet bomb. I am yet to find citric acid though. I'm in Australia. I'll have to look online I guess. When you pop it in the toilet do you use a brush to clean after it's stopped fizzing or during?
I've been really enjoying exploring DIY cleaning recipes and zero waste principles in my cleaning routine but one place I'm having trouble with are my bathroom floors! I have the recipes down pat but am wondering if you know of any tools/techniques for cleaning these areas? I can use an old toothbrush on the tile grout but for the smaller tile areas (example: behind toilet area), I'm wondering what kinds of tools you might use? Mops don't really fit around there.
this is such an informative video, thank you! i am living in my first apartment, so trying to figure out how to do all of these things in a way i feel most comfortable, if that makes sense. may i ask where your glass soap dispenser is from (your kitchen hand soap)? thanks!
Absolutely! I hope you're enjoying your first apartment, that's such an exciting time! My soap dispenser is from Target :)
I love this updated version of your cleaning video from last year ! :) I'm always afraid to buy fizzy drinks and other bottles because so far, I've never found one that fits the attachment I have. :) haha. But I should keep persevering ! Because for now the little bottles that came with those spray attachments are plastic and they are super annoying as they "smush themselves" because of the pressure. Anyways, when you meant "cleaning routine" I thought you were going to show us the routines you have, as in "how often you clean this, and that, how long it takes" etc :) I think that would be a great idea for a video.
Oh, that's a bummer! I've used Perrier and Pellegrino bottles with my spray tops. I think my original plastic containers were 16 oz. That is a great idea for a video, thanks for suggesting!
Aww, glad you like the idea ! :) Thanks for the tips ! Hugs
Etsy sells spray tops (without having to purchase another glass container)... so you can keep using your Perrier bottles ;)@@AlliCherry
How do you kill the black mold that is in showers. I bought the house used and I had black mold in my apartment so it seems to follow me around. I have killed it with tilex and tee tree oil but it comes back. I have shampoo bottle that may be reinfecting the shower? Where did you buy the glass spray bottles. Plastic don't last long particularly if you use them outdoors.
i use 1/2 vinegar 1/2 water for all-purpose cleaner and for glass/mopping
I do agree with this video 100%
This was so informative. I can't wait to see more in this series. Are there any good books you recommend to learn more about essential oils?
Modern Essentials and Just the Essentials are great ones!
Hello Alli, super informative video ! Also, would you consider making one about your hair ? They're so beautiful and shiny and I would be interested to know your routine !
Thanks a lot, Love from Paris ;)
Thank you! That's a great idea!
Alli Cherry yay! I have been hoping you would do a hair care/routine video 👩
Great video Alli!! ;) I loved how informative it was. Your castile soap container caught my eye. Where did you get a glass one with a pump?
Thanks so much! The glass is an upcycled apple juice container and the pump is from amazon!
I also loved your gallon jug with pump! Do you have the amazon link for the pump you bought by chance?
I need all these recipes! Thanks for sharing. I need to write these down so i can make my own stuff. I'm currently finishing up all my cleaning products i have right now and going to start fresh. what do you use to do your laundry? I'm very curious about that. i already substitute fabric softener with vinegar already.
Good for you, Amy! I'm currently using a powder detergent that came in a cardboard box. I don't remember the name, but I got it at my local health food store.
Hi. I am starting to make my own organic cleaners. Is apple cider vinegar ok to use or does it need to be white? If white, is it important to be organic? Does regular white vinegar have harmful ingredients in it. Also do you make your own laundry soap and shampoo?? Ty 🙂
Do you take your large glass jug to the store to refill your Castile soap? Our coop sells bulk Castile but it's expensive. Wondering if there is a more inexpensive way to by Castile soap low waste! Thanks Alli!
they sell it in bars as well, if you add some of it to the solution and mix it the soap should dissolve.
I saved this container (it's an apple juice container!) with the hopes of finding a local place to refill it with soap. Unfortunately, a co-op in San Diego was the closest bulk soap location I could find! I bought the gallon sized container of soap from my local health food store instead and poured it in here. Obviously not the best option, but I prefer it over buying lots of small containers.
I'd love to see a DIY cleaner for wood and for granite, as certain products (such as vinegar) cannot be used in granite.
Here's a recipe for granite!
-1/4 cup vodka or rubbing alcohol
-a few drops castile soap
-10 drops of essential oil (melaleuca, eucalyptus)
-fill the rest up with filtered water (in a 16oz spray bottle)
Alli Cherry aww thank you so much! Gotta keep the granite clean 💕
it was so nice seeing something a little different than the typical apple cider vinegar/water solution! I will definitely be trying these soon :)
Totally! :)
Good stuff. I’m wondering if you launder your cleaning towels, dish towels etc. with your clothing or do in a separate load?
Thanks, Emily! I like to wash them in a separate load, it's easier to keep track of them that way.
Hi Alli. You look so naturally beautiful in this video. How are you getting your hair so shiny? Would you consider doing a tutorial for this makeup look you are wearing in the video? I hope you are having a great week:)
That's so sweet, Kristin! :) I curled my hair with a curling wand for this video, that usually helps tame the frizz. I like to use hair oil to condition my hair, I'll have to make a video about it soon!
So inspired to ditch the chemicals! Love your channel, Alli
+Faffrika you can do it!!
You are so beautiful! Great video love! I love DIYs! 🌺💖
you have good heart in life iam happy for you good friend 🤗
hello! what kind of vinigar do you use?
Great video! I would love to figure out how to get Castile soap in bulk like you! Any tips?
I actually bought mine in a gallon size (in plastic) because I can't buy it in bulk near me. The glass bottle is a repurposed apple juice container! Some whole foods locations have bulk castile soap, check your local co-op too.
Alli Cherry Okay awesome! Thank you!! 😊
where's the link for the essential oils you use ?
Do you have pets? And if so, how would this affect them? Did you research it because I know plenty of essential oils are deadly to dogs as well as cats.
How long do these keep?
Can you add rubbing alcohol into the window and mirror cleaning ?
Where did you get the pump for your hand soap? I've been looking for one like that!
Target! :)
hey, alli! do you have something for wood? i have more wood surfaces...
I usually just dust my wood surfaces with a slightly damp microfiber cloth. If I find something that works better I'll let you know!
Thank you for another great video! I am so making those toilet bomb.. haha.. 😅 btw.. thank you for linking where you got the dredger for baking soda - I wanted to find something like that for ages (how hard can it be? 🙄)
I know! I had been looking for something second hand for ages with no luck. It works so much better that pouring straight from the box!
Hi there. What is castile soap?
notification squad🔈🔉🔊
Thanks so much, Eve!!
Would grapefruit essential oil do as well as lemon essential oil in this regard?
Absolutely! Most citrus oils contain limonene which is the compound revered for its cleansing properties. It smells amazing too!
Thanks! Yeah, it's hard not to add it to everything :)
Curious, when you make a cleanser, how long does it last? Do they last a while and you just give it a shake when needed? or do you make small batches at a time, if so how often? Sorry for long question.
Don't be sorry! :) I got through the 16oz bottles every 2 weeks or so. The mixtures separate naturally so I do shake them a bit before using. I usually eyeball the recipes when I remake them and that takes me under 5 minutes. Hope that helps!
Alli Cherry It does help very much. Thank you for taking time to answer. I can't wait to give this a go! :)
What is the recipe for your dish soap and your hand soap? I need to try this! 👍🏻
I don't always measure, but I think it's around 1/4c soap & 3/4 c water with 10-20 drops of essential oil. :)
Alli Cherry 😊 I don't measure either cooking or making products. Funny how some of us can do that. Those are the correct measurements for hand soap. 💕👍
Nice video iam new hi love it
thank 💐🌸🌻🐞🐝you so much for the video it's good video I love it can you send me more videos iam Ashley hi 😀🤗😎
your videos. rook lol I like good job 🍎🍓🍅🍉
Natural does not always equate to safe. Granted some things are less toxic than others, but everything becomes toxic at some point when used in excess. There is a popular misconception that because essential oils are derived from plants, they must be safe. Unfortunately people can and have been injured by essential oils. Mostly due to misuse. But even with proper use reactions can still occur. The most common is burns to the skin and rashes.
Like you I prefer to do things natural. But what defines natural? That depends on where a person draws the line between natural and man made. The purest definition of natural is "occurring in nature without human intervention." Wild berries growing on a mountain side would meet that definition. But in today's world most things go thru some processing.
Essential oils are derived from a natural source, plants. But so is Tequila, and both essential oils and tequila go thru almost an identical process to create the final product.
Is Tequila all natural? Does it bear risks? I will let you decide.
Turpentine comes from pine trees. That sounds natural to me. Is it safe? What about crude oil? Its naturally occurring and organic. Is it safe? I will let you decide.
What about essential oils? Are they all natural? I know nature provided the plants, but man extracts and concentrates the plant oils beyond anything nature has to offer. Nature never gave us the final product in that little glass bottle. Major corporations did.
Wheres the recipes for all these???? lol
