Joe Pants is usually a bad guy. I can't remember shit but he's the stepfather of Percy Jackson. Only not-bad-guy role I can remember is in Bad Boys.

This is an homage to anime, Hong Kong kung fu movies, and comic books...and under all of that a deeply philosophical core.Keanu had to read three deep books before filming (Simulacra and SImulation by Jean Baudrillard, which was the book that housed all of the discs Keanu had in his first scene, Out of Control by Kevin Kelly, about the advance of technology, and Introducing Evolutionary Psychology). The films are basically a primer on philosophy.
Personally, I feel that the second and third movies are so much a part of this one, that they are all one film. The fourth one is okay, but some people hate that more than 2 and 3.
The four main actors worked for 6 months on the fight choreography before the film started rolling. They worked with Hong Kong legend Yuen Woo-Ping. Keanu's stunt double in the film is Chad Stahelski, who is now a director...and has directed Keanu in all four John Wick films.
As far as good Hygo weaving films I recommend: The Lord of the Rings, V for Vendetta, Hacksaw Ridge, and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (you'll never see any of Weaving's performance in the same way after this one!).

When I was 10 I went to Hawaii with my grandma for a couple weeks. When I got home, I'll never forget... my mom gave me a big hug and before saying "hi!" or "we missed you!" or "how are you?" she told me "we just watched a REALLY weird movie!". That movie was The Matrix. A couple years later when I watched it on TV I totally got her reaction, lol.
My favorite movie with Hugo Weaving is *The Lord of the Rings* trilogy (2003), which is basically one 11 hour-long movie. But my favorite movie for Hugo Weaving's performance is *V for Vendetta* (2005), with Natalie Portman.

You can't begin to imagine the experience of seeing The Matrix when it came out! It changed everything. The fashion, the tech and the soundtrack were everything that year and nothing was the same! This film changed everything! ❤️🎬👍

I love that you brought up the song “Sandstorm” by Darude. One reason that song has sim many views on YT is because before lyrics sites and wiki got so popular, people would ask “what’s this song” in comment sections. And no matter which song it was, if it was country or oldies or rap or whatever, you’d just tell them “oh it’s Darude Sandstorm” 😂 This was even before Rick-Rolling.

I'm sure everybody in the comments will let you know; but The Matrix: reloaded and The Matrix: revolutions are actually passable movies. The fight scenes (for the time) were actually quite good. I enjoyed the story and the acting by 1 actor in particular is unparalleled. I wouldn't bother to watch the last movie. The creators only made it because if they didn't make it, they would have had to give the rights up for another group to make the sequel. Instead, they made a stinker on purpose. I've watched it 3 times. The only thing I remember from the resurrections movie was... "MISTER ANDERSOOOOONNNN!!" which was the only 9 seconds of the movie I enjoyed. I didn't believe a single second of the acting of that movie (who the hell could portray hugo weaving without doing an impression of the man? The guy who did the movie.) ugh. But.. when he shouted that name, I did kinda feel like he was the character. I'd watch "The Matrix Trilogy" if I were you. Ignore the last one.

Hugo Weaving is the one of the leads in V for Vendetta, it's incredibly good. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it.

A lot of people like Hugo Weaving from "The Lord of the Rings," or "The Matrix." I like him best in "V for Vendetta," and that's a "must see" movie, just like the others.
BTW, if you want to see a movie that is COMPLETELY different from this one, but which has kinda the same style, check out "Blade." It was made the year before this one, IIRC. As for the sequels to "The Matrix," while they're not awful, the excellent story is all in the first movie.

Yeah and the sad part is that it wasn't going to be that, originally the reason machines farmed humans were their brains to use them as microprocessors not batteries, which would make more sense but then it was decided that the concept of using a brain as a microprocessor would be too advanced for the average viewer so they decided to change it to human batteries, which as you already mentioned, human bodies would make crappy batteries.
@@dtavs_exe yah, apparently the comics and cartoons, which i haven't seen, say something about their particular machine intelligence being unable to do creative things, requiring humans to be their subprocessors.

Keanu did the sparring scene with Lawrence Fishburn with a neck injury that he hid from everyone. When he wasn't on set, he was in a neck brace.

Yes, there are 4 Matrix films. Would like more reaction videos from everyone. The fourth one is quite carelessly made. The rating is only good average, but the content is still not entirely uninteresting.
Fun Fact. Keanu throwing up during the Morphous speech wasn't intentional. Keanu had eaten some bad food that day and as if on que he couldn't control it and threw up at the exact moment Morpheus showed him the battery. Cameras were still going so he had to recover quickly and you can see it in real time him recenter himself to get back into acting mode as Neo starts to panic.

My favourite Hugo Weaving is The Dressmaker. An amazing piece of Aussie cinema. It includes Liam Hemsworth as well as Kate Winslet. Hilarious, dark and sexy.

Watch the other sequels too, especially as follow up. They aren`t as surprising as we know now what the special effects are, but still quite entertaining.

Loved Hugo as Elrond in LOTR. However , his voice in V is just on another level !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The best Comic book film ever IMO. Even better than Iron man by a hair .

That's not remotely true... Asian cinema ring a bell? It's clearly what inspired this film's action. The Matrix wasn't even the first American production to do this style of action.

While I wouldn't recommend the Matrix sequels, I would definitely recommend The Animatrix instead. I watched The Animatrix as a teen back in the day, and I think it's essential viewing for more context to the lore and history of The Matrix.

Film just as good as this remarkable one (and came out around the same time) was "DARK CITY"... I prefer it to "THE MATRIX"... both are FANTASTIC.
Nothing wrong with the sequels... Every reactor says that's what they've heard, but I don't know where this is coming from. Commenters usually disagree with that. They're pretty good.
The rest of the series is definitely worth a watch. More philosophical and study of the human condition, with action thrown in for good measure. I've noticed that the people who don't like the rest of the movies are generally confused by them. They definitely require some active thinking on the part of the viewer. I think you'll do fine with them. ❤

You'd be fine to skip the sequels. None of them live up to the first movie. It works pretty well as a standalone if you ask me. Also Hugo Weaving was Elrond in the Lord of the Rings movies.

The first movie is the best of the trilogy, but I think the other two are worth watching. Reloaded (the second one) I always felt was the weakest of the lot. Then Resurrections came out. Don't watch Resurrections. It's embarrassing. Do watch the Animatrix, though. That $#1+ is fire.
