It was such a super clean car, and is what inspired me to get my STI. He literally did EVERYTHING to this car though, and more. Everyone hates to say goodbye to something that you put that much work into, but it was time for a new project. Who knows though, maybe one day Scoob will do another STI, maybe on the new EV platform when it comes out!!
CS style kit is perfect fitment and durability which is why I also went with it. 2 years and still holding strong on my wrx. They also look good even with mud flaps on.
I bought a lip about a year ago and I hit a pothole and my lip broke easily on the side, I’m looking for a good brand that won’t easily break an look good on my gr86. Do you recommend this is a good one I could get?
Looks awesome bro! In November I’m getting the IAG AOS V3, GDT cooling mod, some fresh silicone couplings for my throttle body and turbo. Then just because the stock heat shield is trash I was getting a DEI turbo blanket. No power bits was going to save up for injectors, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, and flex fuel kit and full TBE exhaust 3”. Then I think I’m done with power will be plenty for me being my daily.
Love Bayson R product. They got a product called “Universal Front Bumper Lip Splitter Protector” which is the same as the oem sti lip protector and it is used in JDM STi final edition. Comes in red or black and it’s 40$ vs oem $180. Adds the rally look
Looks beautiful. Been watching your vids for a bit now but in Australia subaur parts are expensiveee. Makes me motivated tho. Always looking clean, keep hooking it up, love the videos 👍 👍
looks sick. some tips. wrap it in some ppf. you can do a few layers under the bottom. so if it scrapes it won't get too damaged. ppf/xpel is pretty cheap to buy and do it yourself. especially with crappy jersey roads up north around where i live.
I'm looking to buy a 2020/2021 WRX. Does anyone know if I can order this lip kit in Canada - Ontario? Car looks amazing and clear AF. Great work and a beauty to look at.
@@Autofreakgarage 7 months later and getting the kit installed in a couple of weeks on the '21 STI. Thanks again for the videos and information - it's priceless.
Quick question on the side skirts. Any issues when drilling the holes for the pop clips on the sides? Did you leave the side sills on and just drill the holes through from underneath the car or did you take the side sills off and install the side skirts then reinstall as one piece? I plan on installing the side skirts with some double sided tape, drilling in all the self tappers then lastly drilling through the existing larger holes into the underbody and installing the pop clips last.
Do you ever have a need to remove the lip? I know you didn't drive it in the winter. Deciding how rough it would be to put them on and take them off, depending on the season.
I know this is a year old video but I just bought a 2020 WRX STI with the same kit that you just recommended Did you paint yours or just slap them on because they look good the way they are also my cars in silver though.
Is the CS style from lip specific for the 2018+ bumper? I'm doing the same front end conversion and currently had their CS style lip on my 2016. Wondering if I'll be able to re-used it.
@@Autofreakgarage thanks, how’s the ride stiffness compared to stock? I recently got a new to me ‘18 sti, it’s on stock suspension but 18” wheels so the wheel gap is even bigger than stock w/ 19” wheels and I was considering it maybe time to add more low but honestly the car is pretty stiff as is, coming from a lowered mazdaspeed3, it’s not as stiff as the Mazda but it’s crazy stiff for a stock suspension.
To each his own, but these cars without a lip, even as low as I am, make the car look super goofy. These cars need at least a front lip to level the front bumper out with the rest of the car.
@@Autofreakgarage Personally i wouldn't lower the car. As for me, its already low enough. Not unless you track your car daily, i dont see the purpose of lowering it.
Miss this car on the channel such a clean car

I have all that plus maybe a few other small mods but on the jdm 207, more than enough power for a daily. Over 400 conservative as possible
Your Rex looks really nice and clean no unnecessary stuffs on it
I love the look of the carbon hood scoop.

I like the car its bold. I own a 2022 WRX premium in white. I'm thinking of getting oem front lip and v style trunk spoiler to keep it stock.
Nailed it.
I have this same exact car. Same color and all. Don’t be surprised when we pass each other looking alike.
What a good idea using 3m tape, dont like the idea of drilling into front bumber, thanks :D
Any idea where I could find a side lip and rear apron for a Subaru Impreza? I also am not a fan of the side skirt look 😬

Thanks for the support!
I like the setup, looks a little lower and it's subtle. The price is very reasonable. Do you have any issues in winter with snow?
No issues
Bayson R makes good products!
just ordered same spats, side skirts, and front lip. what product should i use to coat them before putting them on?
I eventually ceramic coated them which gtechniq csl/exo.
Adams VRT also works great to protect them if leaving them as is, I use a little on them after every wash

The kit is cheap enough that if they get damaged, I will just get another set. If I did the kit in carbon, this would be something I would do.
Hey @Scoobyfreak86 where did you purchase the front LED and Fog lamp assembly from? Thats exactly what i am looking for. many Thanks

@@Autofreakgarage awesome!!! Thank you!
Thanks for the video!
I know you’ve changed out the lip kit since this video. Have you noticed any rust on the spots where you put self tappers?
Yes that can happen since they are not stainless tappers. You can get better quality hardware if it bothers you.
Did you use pop/push in clips for the side skirt lip? Or just self tappers. Car looks good man!
Both. Drilled out for the pop clips and the rest self taps.

Yes I would remove
Do you ever have a need to remove the lip? I know you didn't drive it in the winter. Deciding how rough it would be to put them on and take them off, depending on the season.
Never needed too remove it. If I was driving year round, I would have kept my abs Bayson r lip. Much more durable than the current carbon one.

Cs style is available for all years. But the 15-17 lip won’t fit the 18+ as it is a different shape.
Do you have a video of you 15 to 18 bumper conversion?
