my friend is a filipino and she visited a filipino girlfriend who's working in Italy (her girlfriend's skin complexion is fairer than him) . He said, discrimination is very common there. Even the kids were laughing at him.. and heard them call him Alien. When they also went to a store, he wasn't allowed to use a card. They only ask for cash. Also people are often laughing at them.. That friend of ours is a handsome man here in the Philippines.. but maybe because he doesn't have fair skin.. many have discriminated him. This is just so sad.. given that we, filipinos are very welcoming to other nationalities

When in Rome, do like romans do.
NEVER GO CHAT the customs & declaretions guys. Doesn't matter if you are black, as italian i've learnt the hard way to just avoid them. Walk through, don't look at them. If they stop you, answer as shortly as concisely as possible. If you went through some border-line tax heaven countries, get ready for questioning.
Never show attitude. Know what you can have on you: less than 10k euros worth in assets and cash. Including laptops, gopros, ANYTHING. and that's across europe, so if you have more declare it when leaving the origin country and show the declaration. You should know this if you travel.
Never show attitude. You clearly did, probably you said it's because I am black and all.
When you buy a ticket it is on you to make sure the luggage is included or not. Anyone who ever took an internal flight (Ryanair, EasyJet, etc) knows that. Again, it is on YOU, not them.
Surprise surprise: I got stopped like you did many times. I am white. The difference between me and you? I know my way around, i know how dismissive and terrible they are, and I make it easy for myself.
You clearly identified the main reason why italians are emigrating so much. The Racisms part? your interpretation.

This may be true concerning Italian airports but I am certain, as I have spent a lot of time in Italy as a Black woman, racism is deeply problematic in Italian culture. Good advice, but also do not tell people they are not experiencing what they know they experienced. People who deal with racism often tend to know when it is and is not happening to them unfortunately.

    • @fashionblows4158

@@francisdrake7060 The system of White supremacy also discriminates against 'White' people because it is predominantly based on how much melanin is in a person's skin, hair, etc. So even a European group of people who are technically 'White' like Italians, can face discrimination. White Britain and British people of color are not the same so when you say "Brits" you should specify. Black and Brown people living in the UK face gross racism because even though your skin and hair might be darker thank a Northern European/Scandinavian, they are even further away from Whiteness than you. When we visit Italy there is horrible racism and that is interesting because many darker Italians, although they have the privilege of being White, when they are in the presence of lighter White people; experience discrimination themselves. White people created the most illogical system called 'race' smh. Makes no sense

I know Italy has a racist stigma but the only racism I faced when i went was from other tourists. This white blonde family probably Scandinavian, did not look italian. They were staring and glaring at me and my family the whole time we were being seated. Side-eying and looked so annoyed by us being there. I requested to be moved inside to get away from their bad vibes and to avoid any confrontation. We were the only blacks at the restaurant. And another time, when i was in line at the colosseum, this white mother and daughter was in front of me (they were from south usa can tell by the country accent) mother kept looking back at me, looked me up and down, from my shoes to head and shielding her daughter from me even tho i was far from them lmao.
