That 5th option on a red stakes lateral water hazard is worth remembering. If you've sliced massively but rolled back into the water from its far side, you would normally walk over and around to it and drop 2 clublengths, and be hitting over the water hazard back to your fairway. The 5th option lets you drop from a spot on your fairway's side of the water hazard (equidistant from the hole), thus taking the hazard out of play on the next shot (and saving you the walk around to the other side). Your playing partners might take some convincing.
