Just received the family edition of this, and the water rule is still causing some confusion. Particularly the note - "If you hit into the water hazard and placing [the] ball where it crosses [into the] hazard causes it to be moved closer to the hole, then the player must hit again from [the] previous spot, with [a] one shot penalty." vs dropping the ball where it entered the hazard with the 1 shot penalty. In our mind, it's almost always going to be closer to the hole, as that's the direction you're (typically) aiming. Like in your video example at 2:20, let's say your tee off shot landed you on the fairway, and then your second shot landed in you in the brook. In the video you drop the ball where it entered the water, but that's still closer to the hole then from where you originally took the shot on the fairway. Would it be fair to say, you only drop at the edge of the water hazard if you were shooting towards the hole, with the tee-off zone behind you, and the water hazard comes before the hole. If the shot takes you past the hole and into a water hazard, or the water hazard is to the side of the hole, and dropping the ball lands you closer to the hole, that's when you take the shot from the previous location? I hope I'm explaining our confusion well enough, we're totally not golfers AT ALL, but enjoy dexterity games and the occasional crazy golf.
Hi Adam, check out this video, it should help. Also as far as hitting a shot in the water again from the tee box, that is only on a Par 3. If it's a Par 4 or Pr 5 you use the normal drop rule. Thanks. ua-cam.com/video/ifaVB3s7h40/v-deo.html

You rehit from the Tee Box only on a Par 3
On a Par 4 or 5 you drop where it entered the hazard and take a one shot penalty
