Just when you think a song has been done to death. This is probably the best arrangement of this song I’ve ever heard. What an amazing voice too, so clear and powerful.
Totally agree with you there. This song is one of my all time faves, no matter whoe sang it. This version is so very special and beautiful. Thank you ❤️
Yes, this is incredibly beautiful. But for my money, nobody has ever done this song better than K.D. Lang. If you haven’t heard her version, you haven’t heard the best, IMO.
You had it right the first time. This song has been done to death. I can't even bear to hear it anymore. Don't mean to take anything away from the musicians, but this song is low hanging fruit.
@@ToeTag1968 I don't think I could call it low hanging fruit, personally. Yeah, it's been done a lot, and it's pretty much always going to sound good, so I do get your point. Effie performed this live in Sydney on Friday night as part of PMJ's 'Life in the Past Lane'. She absolutely killed it. Standing ovation with cheering and hollering from the entire venue.

Her whistle notes literally gave me goosebumps!!
I had the privilege of seeing Effie and PMJB perform this in Modesto, CA this year. It was truly one of the most amazing performances I've ever witnessed.
wow.... i was brought to tears by the end of the first verse, its a song that ive been listening to and playing all my life; but dear lord ive never felt it this deep inside my soul. thank you
are you aware that the song is actually about sex, physically fucking and losing one's faith in God ; it is NOT a religious hymn
I've heard there was a popular song
That Effie sang and it pleased the throng
But we all do care for music don't we?
A dozen listenings and I think it's getting better.
And every single breath we drew was ...?
Was blown away by Effie's renditions of this and Creep at the Gold Coast performance last month. What a voice!! So good! Thanks!!
Amazing Effie has to much passion when she sings and the musicians playing the instruments in the back too I love this 🖤🖤🖤
Пост модерн. Ребята вы молодцы, так держать. Очередная вкуснятина.
Привет с солнечного Норильска..
Leonard is listening, feeling and smiling upon you tonight. Simply wonderful.
Saw her live in London tonight... this literally brought me to tears!
Me too, from NZ!
I have always loved this song. But never did I have the kind of physical reaction to it as i just did. You amaze me. I'm enthralled. I'm 73 yrs young and I've never felt anything like i do when i listen to you. I wish I could see you live. But, I'll take these beautifully done videos. Sending you Blessings .❤
love how the costumes mimic the floor pattern but the lighting on Effie is the opposite, adds an other-worldly dimension to a wonderfully performed piece, well done all 👏
One of the few songs that pretty much whoever sings it always puts a tear in my eye... Such an emotional, invoking song
Effie Passero is just amazing. I can't get over how perfect she is.
Saw her Sunday at the Tower in Okc. Goosebumps and tears . Amazing.
I find this song hauntingly beautiful; this performance made me cry. It would have been difficult to contain my emotions at a live performance.
honestly the most beautiful version of this song I have ever heard. I have loved this song since the very first time I heard it but this totally gave me goosebumps listening to it. Amazing simply amazing
You guys are the best antidote to the crappy musics of the last decade
