Yes: smoking is super bad for me. I end up feeling sick when I'm around people who smoke, and this is why I know I can't ever take up smoking as a habit. I have tons of restless energy that can extend to spells of insomnia. Mental overload is part and parcel of this ascendant for sure. as a gem i find that smoking tobacco REALLLY interferes with my lung health...yet weed ironically seems to help in so many ways...i think you should do whatever feels right; if you smoke a sativa strain that might help your sleep, indica would keep ya up to my knowledge
I can fall asleep at night easily because I tire myself out but once I wake up, like even if i accidentally wake up really early like 5 am or something, I can't get back to sleep because the monkey is lose in my brain. I literally will have a bad day because I didn't get enough sleep but I can't go back to sleep and i cant focus my thoughts. If i try to use caffeine to feel more awake, I just end up becoming more jittery. I am Scorpio sun and moon but I exude none of the cool/calm energy, I just look like a nervous/jittery/over enthusiastic child to most people. Most of the time, I have so many thoughts jumbling around in my head like crazy and I find it really hard to focus. And I shake my leg all the time. Funny enough, I'm a gemini rising and I'm very very shy around people I don't have a close established connection with. And I'm a mercury in sag (I blame my tendency to withdraw on my venus in scorpio)... I've actually read somewhere that gemini's personality ruler is mercury, but its soul centered ruler, its higher ruler so to speak is venus. And this makes perfect sense if you take into account gemini's capacity to make connections and associate with people and ideas very quickly. I don't remember where I was trying to go with this (typical gemini) but it's and interesting idea to take into consideration!
