Players....you can't go wrong if you hold the ball until you can hand it to a ref. Something our Coaches taught us back in the day (high school). If we scored and didn't hand it to the ref we had suicide runs the next practice. No one, I mean no one failed to give the ball to the ref post-score!!

Add to the fact that Jeremy Lane broke his arm and leg on the same play, amongst other in game injuries, with the biggest being Cliff Avril leaving the game in the second half. Once Cliff left, Tom Brady was able to get things going. Seahawks couldnt get the sane pressure on him. There are videos out there of many recent games where players have dropped the ball short of the goal line! I have coached for 20 years and can’t explain this. I coach players to run through the back of the end zone or hand the ball to the ref. I explain the life long memory they will have I’d they embarrass themselves by doing this. The only thing I can think of is the players have created a culture where dropping the ball prior to scoring is somehow cool!
You're one of the few, honorable exceptions. The problem is that too many other coaches have allowed the culture of showboating to grow and flourish, and shove aside traditional sportsmanship. And the punishment for stupid moves like the ball-dropping thing--if there are punishments at all--are way too light. If I were the head coach and a player of mine did that, he'd be off the team.

This play was even worse than DeShawn Jackson’s play because at least with DeShaun’s play you really did need slow-motion to tell if he flipped the ball too soon. With this one by Tuputala, the dude was practically still on the 5 yard line when he “did the deed”. Ain’t no slow motion needed to notice THIS blunder😅.
