Some of it is inaccurate
That area was trashed before 2000 and 1990. Born and raised 79th Escanaba , it was violent in the 80’s
There are not many grocery options anywhere
Never been great not even in the 70’s
Beautiful area but very dangerous

A lot of the problems with those project high rises was when your kids went outside, you couldn’t keep an eye on them.
And the pure number of kids that lived in single parent homes there
@@brian636 correct me if im wrong, but they also didn't allow fathers to be in some of these subsidized homes (in order for the families to receive govern aid, the fathers couldn't be in the home). thus creating more fatherless homes.

Lived over there for 6 years, very dangerous but I loved every moment of it. City is beautiful and I worked over there off 87th and stoney. Good vibes regardless of the crime rate. Chicago isn’t always as scary as people make it seem.
