I remember listening them repeatedly back in 2001 when I was 13 and my parent was worried sick. They thought something is wrong with me lol. I'm 35 now and their face still stuck in my head 🤣. They don't realize korn, linkin park, deftones, papa roach, staind and limp bizkit actually helped me in rough time at my teenager. Thanks to those bands

I was 13 when I first started listening to disturbed and fell in love with them also and been obsessed ever since! ..I was lucky to have a Kick ass cool mum who first introduced me to disturbed by jamming to their music loud in our house in the British Virgin Islands. F yeah!
I also love Linkin Park (so very fricken upset about his passing I legit cried!), Korn. System of a down, three days grace, bad wolves, red, skillet, limp bizit. All amazing. Rest in peace to your dad!

I am 60 years old. I was upset that my grandson was listening to "Disturbed", until I heard "Sounds of Silence", which caught my attention. I started researching and reading about David Drainman and maybe I was wrong! I read and listened to some of his songs. I grew up with 1970's Rock and the sound of "Disturbed" was, well, disturbing. But basically it is ok. I was shocked that "Prayer" was based on the plights of Job... Very Interesting...David Drainman, grandma says your ok to listen to.
That makes you an awesome grandma lol. Most grandparents I've known (mostly my own) cant stand, and don't care to listen to or understand the songs, lyrics, meanings behind the songs... But the fact that you actually took the time to do research and came to understand that disturbed isn't, I quote my grandmother, "Devil music" just shows that you care very much for your grandson and his upbringing :) which is more then I can say for some parents these days

My mom is close to the same age you are, she turns 56 this month, and she didn't care much for Disturbed either until I played "Sounds Of Silence" for her and she was actually pleasantly surprised at their take on it! Of course with my mom not being much of a metal head unlike me, the only other song from them that I could get her to listen to was "Land Of Confusion" and I also had her listen to "Darkness" and she did like those two, but with some of my favorites being "Stricken", "Voices", "Stupify", "Remember", "Prayer", "Deify", and "I'm Alive" those were all what she said as quote "Too heavy" I said "Mom, you listen to Metallica's "Black Album" and the Megadeth song "Symphony Of Destruction" and Disturbed is too heavy? I'm surprised you don't think of Linkin Park as too heavy!"

This was my first love with disturbed.
Disturbed did a break away concert in Ozark, MO with Mudvayne, Linkin Park, PaPa Roach and Slip Knot at the Ducks Stadium..I was so lucky to catch this show in the Ozark Mountains in 2001. The dude sounds EXACTLY like this live... He classically trained before trying out for "Disturbed".
As odd as it sounds, David saved my life when I was young and his messages still save my life to this day... I came from a similar upbringing and his words will forever resonate within me

Draiman's face hasn't changed in 15 years other than the addition of facial hair. Look at the music video for, say, this song, then look at his face in the lyric book for Immortalized, or just look him up online. It's kinda creepy...
