my gosh we just found that under our whole basement floor has a void . we had water coming up thru cracks casing flooding . we cut a 12x12 square out and found a lot of water so we dropped a pump in and in the end we found how large this void is. the floor is basically hovering. we later found out the possible cause was due to a sink that had a drain pipe to nowhere under the floor. sink was removed when we moved in 55 years ago .
Hello and thank you for your comment and interest in our products. With an opening as large as the 12x12 you could definitely get the spray foam where you need to place it. The spray foam nozzles will spray out about 4 ft. or you could use cpvc pipe as extensions, as we show in many of our void filling videos. Also, you may be able to use our Secure Set liquid mix/pour product. It would need to be quickly poured or you could make a trough of sorts (cut pvc pipe in half and wax it down with a bit of car wax) and get the foam into the void areas. Do not let the foam get trapped in an area where it can't expand to the least resistant area, since it expands 18:1. Many of our customers do this type of project where they fill some of the void areas with this product and then top off with a spray foam to get the foam in all the areas you want to support, but not overfill. hi. watching your video demonstrates that 1 minute discharge will give us 1cu ft3 of expanded foam. can i assume that one kit will give us 10 minutes of discharge to get 10cu ft3 as it is specified on the product? thank you.
Thank you for your question. Yes, that is correct as a general rule. When it is hot out it can dispense the product even more quickly. Some additional info: You wouldn't want to spray it constantly, so you don't flatten out the foam that is trying to expand, as well as cause the compressed canisters to start freezing up and create an uneven flow of both Part A and Part B foam.
Thank you for the question. No, it will not work when applied into an area with standing water, or where the ground is too wet. During the exothermic process of expansion it will suck the water into the foam and make a junk foam, which is not supportive. The drier the better for the best results. GRA Services

The sound changes; therefore, we know there is foam filling those void areas. You won't always know that the entire cavity is full, but even pillars of foam in areas is much better support than the voids. Also, some of our customers state that they drag a mechanical jack or heavy metal chain around to listen for voids. You can also drill some additional holes and if voids are still found then drop a borescope/endoscope camera in to look around and see if you need to add additional foam. You could use a ground penetrating radar device, since we have talked to foam jacking companies that use one for their projects, but that is generally not a tool that most people would have on hand. I have a double garage that has a cracked on the slab went from front to back of the garage. And the right front corner had sinked down about 1.5” to 2”. Will this product is able to raise and level the slab? Thank you for any advise.
Hello VX, Secure set Spray Foam will raise concrete. The issue is that under the concrete there are most likely some voids that have allowed the concrete to settle. We have found that most slabs are not just siting on top of the soil under the slab. Hammer sound the slab, try to find where your voids might be. Then drill the concrete with a concrete drill bit that measures 3/8th" x 12" long. Once you have done that, probe the hole with a piece of hard wire and determine the thickness of the concrete and then measure the depth of the void under the slab. Remember, the expanding foam will always expand into the void which is a low pressure area. Once you can determine the LxH X W of the voids you will know the volume
About to make an order for a void in my garage floor. Pulling the jack around I can clearly hear the vibrations of the floor in one particular spot. This shouldn't be super difficult to do with secure set.
Hello Brendan, Another way to fine tune the areas where the voids exist under the concrete floor, is to take a hammer and start tapping all the areas of the floor. You will be able to "hear" where he voids are. I then take some chalk and mark those areas. Thank you

During this process the foam could possibly compress the soil, creating more void space, but once there is nowhere for the foam to go it has nothing else to do but lift. This is a high strength, closed cell foam that does not absorb moisture; therefore, it does not break over time for that reason. Also, it has no nutritional value, so nothing has any reason to attempt to feed on it. Fire will destroy it, but that isn't likely to happen under a slab, or in the ground. Finally, if you have side openings will you not have lifting because the foam will come out the side rather than lift? This is a closed cell foam that does not absorb water or allow air to pass through it. If used above ground, UV rays will change the color, but will not cause it to deteriorate. The only two known things to cause it to break down is large quantities of acetone, or high temperature incineration, and it does not shrink. Is there risk of overfilling a void and lifting the slab up? Would it be smart to drill relief holes to help avoid that?
