This was a fantastic video! I love the idea of a speed run with this. Thank you for sharing, I have just recently been learning wood turning and your videos are among the best educational ones I have seen on youtube.
Beautiful bowls. I learned a few tricks, too. Question: it looked like the bowl that you did had an almost flat bottom. Doesn't that promote wobbling? Or did I mis-see something?
Best woodturning Video I've watched. What would a bowl like that sell for? You are a great teacher and I always look forward to you and your father videos. Thanks.
I love the unknown Turner. Skillful, fast and no Waffeling. He is a good sidekick for your educational stuff, which i love also. 🤷🏼♂️ Greetz from Germany!!
Very very pretty. Love the hand ground 40/40. A question please...I have not seen wax used before oil before. Please share the benefit of the technique. It resulted in a very nice finish. Wonderful work!
These bowls are beautiful!!! Pecan is one of my favorites to work with by hand. I've never turned on a lathe this wood. I'm watching your videos to turn my first bowl. I have watched several of your videos and love your style of teaching. Thank you for everything.
Shawn whendrilling through timber, a little gap then concretre slab of a pre fab garage. Can i just use my mortar bit. It only 9mm OSB but not sure of slab? Also any particular speed. Thanks.
Good job but you scared me a little when you used a scraper. I was happy to see you use the big roughing gouge. My favorite tool but I’m a spindle turner not an art turner. You look very skilled. You need to know when you teach.
Great to just sit back and watch, but very limited teaching value for newer turners.. Bowls looked great. Do you have video content that highlights your awesome graphic art skills?
Good looking bowls, enjoyed the video. What Bowl Gouge do you use? Did you ever do a pen production video? Just got a lathe myself, takeing a lot in, my head is spinning :)
Learned a few tricks watching this one!

all bowl bottoms I make are inset.
@@wortheffort Thanks for your reply. I must not have seen it well.
Love the close up camera angles there during the rounding over stages. The helmet cam was pretty fun too!

Great demo and aesthetically pleasing bowls. You could start weaving baskets with those beautiful consistent shavings!

wax doesn't adhere as much to pre oiled wood.
I really enjoy your cahnnel's woodturning videos; I hopw you post more in the near future! What was that finish you applied?

Nice to see the unknown turner is still on the loose
Quick Shawn, the unknown turner have now taken over your channel, not just your tools and stash of timber!!
Shhhh.....
Great video like the close up
We just got a lathe for our shop and it has a much larger learning curve than I thought. good work and hope you keep it up
Couple of Bunkys… I know what you mean… I just got a lathe and it’s a learning curve like you said! 😊Good luck!
Do you have any extra large T-shirts? I love your videos. Thank you!
Up to 4xl.
Why the wax first then oil? I think I’ve always seen it the other way around
So they mix.

They’ve invented spellcheckers too.
Camera really shows the orientation of the gouge! Great job!
Did you know about the sparks thrown from the sander touching the tool rest? I wonder if I do that too
Nice turnings and forms. Pecan a lovely wood too.
Pretty bowls! That Pecan is nice too. I think I need to try turning some of that.
For the unknown turner, beautiful video!!
Finely the video I was waiting for. Great job 👍
