- Recent Class 20 films have been so welcome to Diesel Enthusiasts proving incredibly popular, especially when solo like this one! D8001 was built in July 1957 so at 67 years old when this was filmed, it is quite simply the oldest running class 20!
20001 in TOPS days, however we see it in its original 67 year old livery and it looks mighty fine. How does it sound? Please watch this film to see. I will say, I hope I sound this good when I reach 67!!! Enjoyed best with the volume up!
Still goimg strong even not far off its 70th birthday. Indeed some of the last standard classes of steam loco were built after this. Thats why i dont get why some people turn their nose up at diesels, albeit a small minority these days. The SVR diesel galas are at least as well attended as the steam ones. I appreciate both.
Thank you for your contribution.
Great video and believe I was at the next door down from you. I even spotted myself at the end as it was leaving on its next run to Leicester North.
Lovely loco and sounds… Did you have your 2 boys with you?
@hellfiretvmh No I was on my own
Amazing video good sound quality!
@@c.r.productions always happy to receive positive feedback. Thank you for yours!
Shows even a type 1 is an Overkill for a preserved railway
What do you mean not sure I follow?
I guess he means we should only be transporting passengers in Wickham trollies on preserved railways? Or even just manual pump trollies? Nicely done Mr Hymek (Type 3's? Serious overkill...) you've just dissed the whole of the railway preservation movement! :)).
@@MrDerbyram59 thank you, I think that’s how I read it, but as I haven’t as yet, had a response? So I sit on the fence for the moment. Let’s hope we misunderstood this comment.🤔
