This is a resurrection plant. It starts out looking brittle, dead, and lifeless…but it’s not. It can easily be brought back to life when placed on a pebble tray with distilled water.
In their natural habitat, these resurrection plants dry up and curl into balls so the wind can blow them to the next moist location. Crazy right?! These funky plants have been known to go dormant for up to 50 years and then come back to life when placed in water. So, if you’re the type to forget to water your plants for a few months - or years, haha! - this might be the plant for you.
If you have kids, definitely pick up one of these plants for them! They’ll have so much fun watching the brown lifeless plant unfurl its gorgeous fern-like fronds.

Awesome! Love David Attenborough. Yes, these plants are so interesting. And no matter how many times they dry up, they'll always unfurl their fronds and turn green again. Nature is so neat!
