If those are desert plants, can't you try to make a bio active desert terrarium? I would love to see one from you since I think you're the best at what you do 😊
Common misconception as being the Rose of Jericho though its quite beautiful none the less. The true Rose of Jericho is called anastatica hierochuntica, a form of mustard plant.
this is also known as resurrection plant.. this kind of plant can easily survive in its dried state upto several years and just need water for returning back to life.. they are mostly found on rocks with some sort of moisture over there..they are not aquatic plants.if you wish to keep them for long time just place them over some moistury substarte where moisture remain always. their life after death is just a small example of our mother nature
@quercus. I think your referring to polytheism. Since Pagan was a derogatory term for polytheistic tradition, those that don't believe in God or believed in "false gods". Which many would argue would include all religiouss practice including Christian By definition. So it's not pagan belief that the Christmas celebration keeps alive, really not even polytheism either if you think about it. Considering the Christmas celebration was created in effort to end polytheistic tradition by replacing the winter solstice celebration Satranalia. It was actually pretty smart if you think about it. By Adapting the celebrations and traditions of pre-existing beliefs while demonizing there practice as evil, sorcery, black magic, or witchcraft punishable by death. Pretty convincing reasons to convert. Regardless most theist deny any polytheistic origin. Since admitting so would discredit the Christ narative they injected. Adding more evidence that likely all judeo-christian belief and tradition have been plagerized from previous beliefs and cultures weather Polytheistic, Zoroastrian, Buddhist, Egyptian or early nomadic hunter gatherers who painted the first known depictions of monotheistic belief on cave walls.
Dinosaur plant is also called Jerusalem Rose. They grow in the desert and green and open with every rain. People use them to renew their finances or increase health by keeping them open in their homes.🖤🇨🇦
I'd be really interested in seeing what plants you would recommend for a desert vivarium build! I'm following your guide for my crested gecko - but I've got some beardies that desperately need an upgrade. This video was cool, throwing in these short ones is a good idea :)
Face of Noh I also wanna see a desert build! I'm planning on getting leopard geckos and want a bio active setup for them. Also followed his guides for my Gargoyle Geckos tank!
Just saw these at hobby lobby yesterday when i went to pick up some cork sheets. Wondered if you do a video about them. Seems my prayers have been answered.
A friend introduced this plant to me and she called it a resurrection plant. I looked it up and found them very exciting and interesting. I love plants ant id been looking for something new and different. I do believe I found it😍❣ Thx for this video 🌵❤
love plant content!! I’m sure a ton of people have already asked about your top picks of plants for different kinds of vivariums but that would def be my pick too :)
Hey man thank you so much for this video I ordered after watching :)) I have a question: do you have other videos about unusual plants on your channel?
Why did people dislike this? There is literally nothing bad about it. Unless there was someone that didn’t like plants. But then I would ask, why watch it in the first place.
Wow, love this plant. I have been watching your videos today to get an idea for a project i can do with my children (7 & 9 years old) over summer holidays and we are off out tomorrow foraging in local woods to build free terarium as one of the projects but i just had to go on eBay and buy dinosaur plants as i think my kids will love them! Thanks for the idea and great videos that you make. I've subscribed so that i can follow your future projects. 😀😉
Thank you very much for sharing. I bought this plant to see how cool it really is and watching your video helped me get started. So thanks again and keep it up with the wild/weird plants. ;)
That is very interesting! Can you do some care videos on different vivarium plants? Like where they are best placed in side the viv and light/watering requirements? That's what I struggle with the most. Thanks for the awesome videos!
I bought what I thought was a couple of small selaginella. I got 8 giant plants some that have multiple heads. What a pleasant buy! :) One was at least eight inches wide when it was all dried up.
they make for great plans they're always beautiful and even if you forget to dry them and you rewarded them they'll still stay beautiful for many many many years
Personally i would always love to see more videos about terrarium plants :) Great video man. Can't believe I've never heard of these awsome plant before! :D Hope your having a great day, evening or when ever you read this! Peace!^^
Very cool! I just bought one a few months ago! I always learn so much from you! I can’t wait to see what you make to House this plant ! I was thinking a terrarium for mine. I’ll wait to see what you do first though! 😊🌱
My grandmother had one of these for decades. She always kept it submerged in water and would drop pennies into it, and said that it would eat the pennies. The pennies would dissolve in a few days. I don't know why, but it was really interesting.
You should have mentioned that though being a poikilohydric plant most of those plants are probably not really alive, as they most likely don't survive multiple "resurrections". What can be watched is therefore rather a hygroscopic process.
Yet another great video bro, honestly I think any video about propagating plants of any sort would be great... I really like bromeliads myself and moss much like you but any information you could give on tropical plants preparation for vivariums or just growing for household decor... you know I’ll watch it lol...
There are two plants, Selaginella lepidophylla (flower of stone) and Anastatica hierochuntica (rose of Jerico) that are commonly referred to as resurrection plant and another, Pleopeltis polypodioides ssp. polypodioides (resurrection fern), that is sometimes called resurrection plant. Anastatica hierochuntica is a Sahara Desert native. Pleopeltis polypodioides is native to the southeastern US and is more commoly known as resurrection fern than resurrection plant. The Selaginella lepidophylla, is a native of the Chihuahuan desert. Selaginella lepidophylla grows in desert area of Texas, New Mexico and Mexico along rocky ledges. It is collected in great numbers (probably much over-collected!) by ripping the plants from their roots. The plant dries into a ball of foliage that unfurls upon adding water. Unscrupulous marketers sell these plants to unsuspecting customers who have no idea that the plants can never be revived to a living, growing state.
interesting plant. it reminds me of the spikemosses growing on the drainage groove up my roof. once i was trying to clean them out but half way through it started to rain and to my amusement all the dry and yellow mosses started turning green.
Make a terrarium that has little dinosaur toys in it. Like a prehistoric landscape. I'd really like to see that be done. I think you could pull it off well, a lot of your other terrariums turned out very well.
Cool vid... I just discovered your channel just now and I'm going to subscribe and I've been getting more more fascinated by plants although originally I was into all that when I was only nine but now I'm coming full circle the more I learn the more I realize I don't know
In México, that plant is known as Rosa de Jericó (it doesn’t even look like a rose) and you can see it been sell as remedy or decorative plant in some traditional markets.
Those plants are native from where im from and are usually semi dehydrated, they are inmovile and can live in templated enviroments and in boulders beside rivers
Cool video and a super cool adaptation I would not expect from a spikemoss. Looking forward to your next installment of the crested gecko vids. I got my first crestie today, he's a beaut, and I know I'm going to provide him with a great home thanks to what I've learned from your videos. Many thanks!
I want one now!! I loved this video, love the plant videos, can't wait for the sensitive plant one. I built my first vivarium for my crested gecko and harvested moss from the forest because of you! :)
I really enjoyed this video, I'd love to know what you're planning on doing with these plants, maybe some info on long term care for them, like do they need to go through hibernation periods, what sort of life span do these plants have and how do they reproduce? I'd love to see more videos on unique plant species.
There is a species of fern called the resurrection fern which does a very similar trick. Looks dead and comes back to life when water is added but it's an epiphyte.

Yesterday I've buyed a similar plant from local market, can you help me in recognising it. I've tried googling it but couldn't find anything similar.
Born and raised in Chihuahua Mexico and I have never heard of this plant before!
Plants are fascinating, but I did find this one a tad above. Didn't even know such plant even existed. I love to learn new things.
I really enjoyed learning about that plant. Could be really cool in something like a crocodile gecko enclosure
Where has this channel been all my life? Subbed! Can’t wait to watch everything else too!
