I could listen for hours about all the experience you gathered with sponsors. I loved this format, however i think Nick could have made it more of a "podcast" style to make it more casual.

I've been doing a lot of brand deals this year and a lot of this is spot on. You can't sit idle on your hands and think good sponsors are going to reach out you have to go out and chase. Another good place to meet brands is going to conventions I've met ALOT of high end sponsors just going to their booths at these trade shows and chatting it up.

Educating brands is one of the things that made it so I could get a 5 figure deal. On the brands side, they really underpriced me. Jumping on a quick Zoom and explaining what they asked for and how it is priced they immediately admitted they weren’t sure what would be fair for the platform. I saved a deal and helped a brand learn about the industry here on UA-cam.
    Great advice

There is some golden information in this video, I was lucky early on in my journey I was approached by a big brand in my niche that I have been with now for a few years and they have been amazing to work with.
Recently I thought up a new idea for a second channel that I want to start and approached another brand whom I have done work in the past and pitched the idea and they are going to support it, which will help me get it off the ground. And sold off the back of everything that is being talked about here. I plugged right into what they were about and made it all about them

I have one problem I tried hard to find out the reason but i was not successful
The problem with my channel is
    The RPM drops like what
    Like if i get 5 dollar for a k
After finalising i get 50 cents for one 1K views
Which is weird because i have 4 more channels same audience same content, but doesn’t happen there
Do you know what is the problem?

    • @NickNimmin

That is interesting. I'd be looking at variances in geographical location of audience, the number of monetized to non-monetized views between channels. I have four questions:
1.Does having a faceless or showing face matter to the brands?
2.Can the type of content a creator makes affect working with brands even if there completely different content?
Ex.If the creator does tech vids on UA-cam but is also doing xxx content on the side can that effect the outcome of getting brands.
3.Can a creator break from a brand agreement even if in the beginning was perfect but later down the road the brands expectations were too much for the creator to handle?
4.Should a creator hire a lawyer for higher brands as well as an accountant?

    • @NickNimmin
      @NickNimmin  9 місяців тому

Brands prefer faces. Yes your content type will determine the brands you work wth. Yes, your off UA-cam activity can be a factor if it's public. When doing deals both sides get everything in writing so that you don't have those types of issues. At a certain level it's helpful to hire a lawyer and an accountant.

Hi Nick, I don't know if you'll ever see this message, but I have a little dilemma I'm hoping you can help me with. recently I was sent a product to test, I presented the product on my channel. Today I received an email from the company letting me know I did a good job presenting the brand and can I include the discount code and link in the description of my video. This is the first time I'm doing this. Should I be asking for compensation for myself or seeing this is the first time I'm presenting just go ahead and do it to get my feet wet? what do you think.

So the video is already done and on your channel, based on what you've said. This is one of many things that should be discussed before you even start making the video. Knowing what the brand's expectations are (links, discount codes, if the provision of the product requires you to make the video, or if its a no strings attached where they send you the sample and its up to you if you make a video or not.).
If its a good product, you can be providing a benefit to your viewers by providing a discount code. Its also generating some goodwill with the brand, and you maybe able to negotiate an affiliate link instead where you could get a commission from future sales.
Definitely chalk it up as a learning experience!

@@NickNimmin Thank you so much for responding to me! I wanted to get started on receiving brands and I excepted the first thing that came without asking the important questions. Next time i will do a better job of asking the right questions. I went ahead and open an amazon store, my next step is to find the product and enter it into my store. Of course I'm still trying to figure out how things work with the affiliate link before responding to my email. Thanks again for you help.

Or brand don't sponsor meme video channel?
If you answer it will be really helpful.

I would put meme content in withe general entertainment, so you would be looking at brands that have mass appeal, like snacks/drinks, casual gaming, the usual VPN/website/hosting fare, etc.

@nick But how would a brand randomly give budget for three tier. Like they have to know the offering first right? Any thoughts?

You know? Navigating UA-cam on my own has been super overwhelming. For quite some time I watched every do and don’t video there was it seems. I should really thank you for having a stand up channel and not using fear as a driver to your channel or making promises only to try and sell something. I cherish the content you put out and when I have a question I always search your channel first. You’re good people.. Trusted.. Thank you ♥ @@NickNimmin
