Thank you for the instruction. It turns out the plastic safety switch was not being moved by the receiving plate. It looks like it was poorly placed by the installer. I simply adjusted the plate and the lock is secure. Not bad for 11:30 on a Thursday night!
The locking mechanism had two screws that hold the lock into the door. In your exampke the screws were missing. Have you ever screwed in the missing screws? I cant get them in.

Good fix. I wish I had more of those calls than the Andersen hinge calls. Those proprietary Andersen hinges are always a challenge.
