Ad break with 1978 "World Cup Plus" branded ITV trail and TV Times ad cashing in on same. Milk, Vanamil, Nationwide Kitchens, Liptons, Milky Way, Gas, TV Times. RX: HTV West
Watching these adverts brings so many happy memories but they also make me realise that those wonderful times are gone for ever and I'm stuck in the 21st century ..
I dunno, some of the stuff at Liptons seemed a bit expensive, like a pound of peas for 21p. You can get 900g in Tesco for 55p right now, which is not far off the same price per pound. The instant coffee was cheap though but it's probably crap.
I shopped at my local 'Liptons' in 1978.The Noel Edmonds ad is a spoof of 'Saturday Night Fever' Disco Movie which had extremely long queues at the Cinemas in spring,summer 1978.TV ads were fun & often stylish,chic & '70s fashion.Good times,the 1980's washed it all away with more selfish & greedier way of living.

Not until the later. The early '80s were great!
If YOU found Noel Edmonds creeping up behind you while you're doing your cooking?
Meal Or No Meal?
😂😂😂😂😂
Remember the world cup theme tune 🎶
The trailer for Thunderball was for the 29 May 1978 showing
This was the best time of my life, so far! 17 and in love for the first time.
I think Liptons keep it low....
The announcer for the Bond Film sounds great
Is there any point in asking what Thunderball has to do with the World Cup beyond being shown on ITV while it was going on?
My biggest worry in 1980 was time coming when i would have to leave the children's home in to the big wide world.
@G G no
Liptons keep it low apparently.
Gas used to be cheap in the 70s, not today though.
1978 is year of World Cup are booming
LMAO! What does Edmonds look like?? :D
i did have a milky way between meals and it fucked my appetite up.
+Casper C Same here. Had to tell my mum to shove it, and she'd spent about four hours cooking.

Mersey Way - the bar you can thieve between meals.
Scotland would have won it that year if Nicola Sturgeon had been manager
@Applemask
It's a good old reliable TV space-filler. Even today!!!
HGV? Sounds more like a train!
What happened to Liptons? They dont seem to exist now.
