Nice tutorial Josh. I didn't realise you could shine a torch like this. I do nightclub after movies and created leaks by taking off the lens very quickly. Great for getting colours and numerous colours sometimes. I may try your technique with coloured gels on the torch.

i started shooting with an anamorphioc lens wich creates the flares automaticaly. these frares you record and add in post can be also created by lens whacking (just yt search it)

How is the footage black with the light streak going through it? Because shouldn't it be recording the wall or whatever the lens is facing?
+Parker Creates great catch man! Totally forgot to mention. Make sure you keep the aperture very narrow (f/11, f/16 etc). You want to keep as much ambient light out as possible.
Another option is just to turn off all the lights in the room. Thanks for the comment. Just added an annotation to the video.

+DjMisa Hurtado Hey! I used my Canon T6i in this video with a rather underwhelming 18-55mm kit lens. I prefer to use either the Canon 5D Mark 3 or the Panasonic GH4 for pro stuff.
