Since I like this song so much I did an analysis of the lyrics. (Warning: Very dark themes including s**c*de) Also, I used the lyrics from the Project Diva games ---- A season at its end, a quietly spreading winter sky Surveying the street, the scene shifts (The seasons are changing, and so is the scenery. Notice how Miku disappears at this part of the song. This may signify that everything is changing and Rin is losing people close to her.) Confusion, Sadness, I carry them on my voice (Self explanatory) The mirage at solitude's end Pierced by the waning moon ("solitude's end" I think is referring to death, especially if her loved ones died. She may be waiting to meet them in heaven, or, more darkly, just wanting her pain and loneliness to be over.) All that waits at the end of the road Is the shadow of a silent window (She wants her solitude to end, but she thinks that all there will be in death is the "shadow" of a "silent window". I think "silent window" refers to a window that once had sound (life) and now is silent (death). Meaning, Rin believes that all there will be when she dies is the shadow and reminder of her life.) Just staring at the end of the story The traces of my mistakes leave my hand and wander (She is waiting for the end of the story, meaning death, and doing nothing more than that. Just waiting for it all to end. She might think death will erase the traces of her mistakes and errors.) Regret, Despair, this voice carries them (Self explanatory) The mirage at solitude's end Pierced by the blue moon All that waits at repetition's end Is the peaceful dream of a star (It's unclear to me what "the peaceful dream of a star" means but it seems like a better possibility of what lies after death than the "shadow of a silent window") Devoured, lost and forgotten Formless, it all fades away Even this song is lost and forgotten It all becomes dust carried off on the wind Whether here or there Forgotten, to memory's end That song and this song too And so we sing of this world's impermanence (Everything will be forgotten and disappear and everything is transient. Nihilism.) Confusion, Sadness, I carry them on my voice Regret, Despair, my voice picks them up The mirage at solitude's end Pierced by the waning moon Is all that waits at the end of the road The shadow of a silent window? (At this part of the song, Rin is shown standing on a building, alone, at night, with memories of the people in her life going through her mind. Though she was more sure of what was after death before, since before there was a statement at the end of each chorus (ex. "All that waits at the end of the road is the shadow of a single silent window"), now she is wondering if all there will be when she dies is the shadow of her life, because she is also wondering whether or not she should end her life.) The mirage at solitude's end Pierced by the blue moon All that waits at repetition's end Is the peaceful dream of a star
ngl, I should comment on the really interesting analyzation but I'm just too giddy to see someone else still loving this song in 2023,, it's definitely really underrated compared to some of Rin's other songs and just in general older vocaloid songs, this is like one of my all time favorites and I'm glad it hasn't been completely forgotten into obscurity
@@Joyjoy-xr3ed I'm glad someone saw this comment!! Lol I very much agree! This song is completely amazing in lyrics, music, and the video. I must say, the music especially and its connection with the lyrics has been especially amazing me lately. In the last chorus ( 3:27 ) when there's modulation (key change) it gives me chills EVERY TIME. It really gives the feeling of her growing desperation and unsureness with the possibility of a decision. I'm just 🤓ing right now but from a musical standpoint the way they did the modulation was amazing, and the melody in general is amazing and unique. I wish I could figure out exactly what is so great musically about this song but there's something there that is very unique and makes the song haunting imo
this is the most catchy song i've heard yet next to butterfly on your right shoulder, fire flower , spice, karakuri burst *i may have misspelled it *, etc.

Everything about this song is badass, Rin's tuning, Len's chorus, the guitar, the PV, the lyrics and of course the modules!😁👍

I love PV's with more than 1 or 2 vocaloids.
I spotted Haku and Neru!
This sounds like an anime opening. Love itttt
