Thank you for all the feedback and for letting me know how things are called and how you pronounce certain things ;) I've heard it so many times now that I can't forget ever again :) Much love ilse
I just love this video. It’s so clear that you had such a bond with your grandma. I miss mine so much. Very true about pendants and/or brooches looking good on older people. I know it’s an older video but I just now saw it for the first time. Very tingly, thank you!
Ilse, I'm sorry to hear your Grandmother passed away. Even though it was several years ago, it always feels like it was just yesterday that they were here. She had some really pretty jewelry. I love the brooches and the pendants. I knew you were a Pisces sister. I am a Pisces too. Elderly people, especially women, always give me ASMR. And yes, definitely Bob Ross. I still watch his videos to this day. I don't know when your birthday is;March or February? But, Happy Birthday to you! I love this video and watch and listen to it quite often.
I really appreciate how slow, thoughtful and deliberate you are with hand movement. You are so aware of how this seemingly small detail conveys relaxation in a way that cues the brain that many other asmrtists do not consider.
The things you wear on clothes are called Broaches yes :-) your grandma sounds like such a caring person. she must really mean a lot to you and thats a sign that how shes connected to bob ross in that way and how you do asmr i find it really cool. makes a great story! you should write a book :D
Thank you for sharing all of her beautiful jewelry with us.This video reminded me so much of my grandma who recently passed away. She also wore a lot of jewelry very similar to the jewelry your grandmother wore.I feel that if i went into my grandmas jewelry box id get really sentimental because i miss her so much! Thanks again for this lovely ASMR video :)
I'm glad you are honoring your grandma's jewelry. Both dark red necklaces look like garnet. That first one you showed, with the bumpy natural surface is called druzy. The orange ring looks like coral. I understand your comment about old people and their old jewlery, that wouldn't work well on younger people! I have a friend from the Netherlands. I miss her!
Andrea Seigel sent me here! Her report about ASMR on This American Life floored me. I get ASMR mostly on the left side of my body, the tingles start behind my left ear, and goes all the way down to above my left knee. Glad to know I'm not the only weirdo out there, haha. I loved to watch Bob Ross as well :D
I know this video is really old and you'll never see this, but the stone necklace you showed at 6:20 (it's citrine I think) is not only gorgeous, but I have the same one!!! Mine isn't citrine though, it's amethyst, but besides that they're the exact same necklace.
I dont know if you still read comments on here, but I wanted to say your grandmother had beautiful, unique taste in jewelry. Boxes of treasure, really.
This is the very first video I watched on utube.. when I searched feeling of wellbeing through touch or speech.. I didn't know what asmr was.. I just knew the feeling. Have a great summer.
Bob Ross, huh? His voice gives me ASMR too, and his paintings are beautiful. He makes painting look easy! But it's cool that your grandma was with him.
Oh my goodness, Bob Ross was the first person to ever give me brain tingles too! I was 8 years old. For years I've been listening to his videos to help me sleep. I thought I was the only one who would get these tingles. Then my boyfriend discovered your channel and he showed me your videos. You have the best videos. You help me sleep, relax and unwind. Thank you for the brain tingles! You are wonderful!!
Forty-two thousand plus subscribers. This is simply amazing. I had no idea this was a thing. Thank you TAL for constantly improving my quality and understanding of life. I feel like there is a little piece of myself that I understand and appreciate a lot more now. And if not for the internet - who would have ever known there were others? What a great time to be alive. :)
Someone may have told you by now, but the pin that goes on your clothes is called a "brooch" (rhymes with "coach" and "poach"). I like your jewelry show and tell videos a lot! My grandma also has an abundance of interesting necklaces and bracelets. Thanks for your content!
the dutch speaking community of asmrtists is sooo good, original, soothing, and i like the sort of chill attitude, and you're like the biggest representer of that ilse
I love the meaning of this video and the story behind it. Jewellery is something quite personal and interesting, so thank you for sharing. Love all of your videos!
Maria and me were actually interviewed for NPR and unfortunately they were not able to put any of the 2 our interview in the broadcast :P What i did do though is i cut out the 15 minutes about ASMR and you can find it on my vlog channel for those of you who didn't listen to it yet or for those of you who want to listen to it again :) vlog channel is IlseTheWaterdrops
I loved Bob Ross! I would watch him to genuinely enjoy his painting and work but always fell asleep. I'd wake up later and be mad I didn't see his finished work. I also would get the tingles from his show. Thank you for sharing your Grandma's jewelry with us. They are my favorite videos of yours to watch. It's cool to see things from other cultures and countries. :)
I never knew you were married! I saw the ring in other videos but never was sure if it was a wedding band or not. Also, seeing your grandparents' wedding rings side by side like that gave me a lump in my throat. So beautiful to know they were together so long until she passed on. I love seeing jewellery videos that have a backstory behind them. You can almost picture their lifetime together seeing these pieces.
I think it's always so sweet how you tell your viewers that you love us. Thank you! I actually really appreciate that, and I think I speak for so many when I say, We love you too!
Ilse, this is such an incredible video! Never did I think, that I could feel such complete peace & comfort...from watching someone talk about jewelry. But, with your amazing voice & your Grandmothers beautiful collection...I am in a trance! Thank you SO much for taking the time to make these. You are such a wonderful person!!Ik hoop dat je al het geluk in het leven dat je verdient!!

I've never heard of ASMR before, I was just enjoying watching videos of people's jewellery collections. My first reaction to the video was "Why on earth is this girl whispering the whole time and what does ASMR stand for?" I continued to watch and noticed how relaxed I was feeling. When you started touching the box I was feeling so tingly and awesome I had to do a Google search on ASMR. Anyway, this was a really cool experience I can't wait to watch more of your videos!
This is my all time, favorite ASMR video. I think I have watched it, at least 50 times...I just keep coming back to it. I'll listen to a different one & if it's not working & I want to fall asleep...I always say, off to ol' reliable from ilse! Thank you SO much for what you do, you've helped me so much :-)
I had no idea ASMR was a thing until I heard the This American Life podcast. I always experienced it as a feeling that just happened here and there. I never thought about trying to induce it or replicate it. I think you must be an incredibly generous and gentle soul to share this with others. I found the video so comforting - reminded me of being a child again. I am pregnant with my first child - and could feel the baby moving when you whispered. I think you have your grandmothers gift.

Wow your grandma was an interesting lady! I love that your grandpa gave you her jewelry box, so sweet. I love things that are passed down, especially boxes with tiny treasures. It makes them more special and wonderful :) The gold and silver rings with the orange stones are amazing, really unique and beautiful! The gold chain (really pretty and sparkly) with the large garnet type stone, and the quartz encased in silver, gorgeous! Thanks for sharing :)
Your grandmothers jewelry is very beautiful. This video is very meaningful to me, because I like to go through my great grandmothers jewelry as well.
