coming from a knee injury i wish i had a knee brace on i dont agree with the braces making you ''weaker'' thats why we work out and train legs the braces are there to 'hopefully' help minimize the risk of injury.. other then that quote nice video! wear what ever works best for you im trying the entry level braces from alpinestars the rk-1 plasma's 233$ for the pair because im a beginner anyways but i learned that the beginning stage of mx/offroad riding is where most injuries seems to happen hahah so investing in protection a bit after the fact but oh well!

A lot of people seem to like the TP199 pads, my calfs are too big for them lol I like the Leatt pads but even with them on I ended up tearing my ACL 🙄 but yes the first couple years I feel is the most injury prone, taking some classes can help get your technique down, for example Aj Catanzaro's moto academy classes

What do you think about rk-1? Pros, cons, are they worth it...

@@milevafajt9692 I personally like them they arn't as stiff as the higher end braces so it does give you more bike feel but they feel stiff enough to give real good protection so yeah they are knee braces but feel bit more mobile. downside is the adjustability the velcro is very small and takes some time setting up to your personal liking and it only comes in two sizes BUT it does come with these angle pieces to prevent hyper extention in increments of 5% sorry for my bad English haha i havnt crashed in them so i cant say if thats good or bad for protection but i like how they feel on and off the bike.
*Ps with less stiff i dont mean they feel cheap they are build very nicely obviously because they are cheaper it uses cheaper materials it doesnt flex at the hinge or anything it just feels like i got a bit more mobility sorry if i sound confusing hard to explain haha*

I use Champion base ball catcher leg guards - metal clip that holds straps easy on off with gloves - secure

The only knee brace I think that actually is on paper beneficial is the asterisk with their tether system that connects the brace to the boot so that you can’t twist the foot in an opposite direction of the knee. I grew up wearing braces and just got another bike and went with the Slaycos so we will see how they work!

Oh that's an interesting system! And yeah I ordered them but they didn't fit my calfs 😕 heard good things though!!

Why the hell would a brace need to be connected to your boot ? If this was worth doing every brand would do it . If the brace is locked to your knee it doesn’t matter a shit if it’s attached to boot

@redwolfracing just a heads up...make sure to check they are the latest version with the thicker reinforced gears....apparently there was a manufacturing error that made the gears too thin...read up...problem has been solved but the thinner geared version is still circulating. I just requested the 2025 stock...

I only wear them to help squeeze the bike so my knees don’t get banged up gripping the bike. I lost one though so I’m trying to figure out what to get. I like those green ones you got but I also kinda wanna try the axel Hodges ones. Lav mic coming in clutch right?

Ahh, yeah everyone that wears the TP199 or the axel hodges ones, absolutely loves them, you could try them and if they don't fit return em! Yeah the Leatt ones are nice, I have had no complaints since I bought them. And I couldn't get it to work (or figure it out) so I got a rode one from best by

@@redwolfracing I had the tp199 but you’re right they run small. The only thing I don’t like about them is they are hot in the summer. I’m sure the axel ones are the same but we’ll see

I just use the evs tp99 knee guards cause my knees will hurt from gripping the frame, i feel like braces would be uncomfortable, but im picky with stuff like that lol i end up not wearing my chest protector cause it feels weird haha
