Great as always! While other "reviewers" already moved on with the zv1, yet you're still here despite you own those 7series. Thanks for helping us level up our zv1 game. Cheers to another 2 years haha!
Haha Zafree, that's a great point. I guess the others think the Zv1 is old but I happen to still like it. I think it will go down in the classics like the A7iii. How long have you owned yours?

Its such a dissapointing camera. So fragile. Difficult menus and setups. Im returning it this week. This thing is meant to be in a controlled environment and thats it. Definitely nothing like an action or vlogging camera

Sorry that I am being lazy and have primarily been using Intelligent Auto mode 😅and shooting in run-and-gun style. It's just so hard to not to want to record everything because it's so fun. I just got the ZV-E10 with some prime lenses and told myself to be more serious with that. LOL~~~

Your content is fantastic. I'm just starting to realise how much my ZV1 is educating me. Thanks to your videos it's about to teach me a lot more. Thank you
I got a ZV1 when it came out and have loved it ever since. Watching your videos made me realize I haven't even maxed out what I can do with it. Appreciate all your videos! 🥳
This is an exceptional review. Honest and straight to the point. Respect your passion for the craft and the whole problem solving approach, plus the fact that the ZV-1 has shown us all new creative paths. Well done. One of the best camera reviews ever. Cheers.
@@thefilmalliance Thanks for the reply. Your enthusiasm and real-world reviews of these cameras is inspiring. Yes, I have the ZV-1, super impressed with the quality and features, have just ordered the ZV-E10, as I have a good range of Sony E lenses, plus Pentax K film primes, with a K to E mount adaptor. Sony make great gear, but it's their video quality and image 'look' I like the most, having worked with their broadcast cameras in TV news for decades. Cheers and keep up the great work!
@@WSDuplex Wow, that is so cool that you did the broadcast cameras in TV News. What an experience that must have been. You will not regret your decision of buying the Zve10, its an amazing camera and I love it. The zv1 is also a great camera too though. Thank you again for all of the encouragement.
im right there with you man. I actually watched some of your old, initial zv1 videos back when I was doing my research about the camera. Fast forward to today, I own 3 of them, and have turned them into a 3 camera interview/ production crew that, paired with small lights and small audio and small gimbal, is now a fully capable single-back pack production powerhouse. Although the quality is there to do "professional" work, meaning professional in the sense like some small company might pay you to do some social ads or small marketing pieces, it still isn't for real 'professional' work, when its a campaign for a large company. to me, the zv1 fits in as an everyday creative tool, maybe some b-roll or BTS, or as a tool to help you constantly grow and study and test things that having larger and more expensive gear would not allow for. In short, the zv1 is quality enough for UA-cam, whereas not quite there for Vimeo (if that makes sense)
Just bought this camera, used it for 1-week camp on the mountain with my students, making photos for the blog and video for the final film... a very good choice. Simple to use and usable for those 2 purposes.
I've been using my ZV-1 for just over two years as well. It's a solid performer. I'm mainly a UA-cam video person who does solo shooting, so I'm either doing vlog-style shooting or shooting subjects on location. The compact nature of the camera makes it incredibly versatile and suitable for what I'm doing and I turn to it despite having a Canon m50 with a battery of lenses available. I need a fast operating, easy to handle camera, and I just don't understand how all the creators out there with their A7S3 and similar cameras manage because those are so heavy and bulky comparatively. I'm hoping this fabled ZV-2 will be a solid 2nd Gen and have built-in ND because the lack of ND is why I passed on the ZV-E10. Thanks Joe for your videos. You are the Champion for the camera.
@@thefilmalliance Haha, if you mean "professionally" that how I make a living? Then it's a firm No. But I do work in the coffee industry and my videos are about coffee, so there's that! But, in a previous life, I did motion picture production for nearly 15 years.
I've just bought one of these and you have just gave me a huge buzz and inspired me so much to get the absolute most out of this wee thing and let it teach me how to use cameras. Thanks man!
Joe I don't comment often, I am a content creator but, I do tech videos in Amharic in Ethiopia, trying to get the youth into tech, I baught the zv 1 about 1 year ago after seeing ur videos and I got about 90% of the accessories you told me to I must say I loved the camera it was just amazing and everyone that saw me transition my videos commented on how amazing then quality was thank you, brother. Sadly 3weeks ago I was mugged and have nothing now but for what it was worth I'm greatful I listened to you.
Hey there, this is probably the nicest comment I've ever gotten. Thank you so much. I am so glad that my videos have helped. I am so sorry that you got mugged, that is horrible. Are you going to start anew? Or are you done? Thank you again, and I hope that everything is all right.
@@thefilmalliance I doubt that that was the nicest comment I'm sure there were better but, mean it from the painters pole to the gimbal and all things ulanzi I'm not usually the type who learns from every video but I did from yours I even used your paper dolly trick on my Mac mini unboxing video for B-roll 🤣 your videos have helped me get creative and try things I wouldn't have if not for you so I'm sure there are millions more like me that tend not to comment but admire in the quiet, as for what is next for me.... I'm not sure exactly, I have wanted to be a UA-camr since 2012 but just never got around to it but lockdown go me started (probably true for half the new UA-camrs out there) and I actually fell in love with it and it's all the more rewarding when you are creating videos that help people (not a fan of vlogging either 🤣 can't stand it and idk why ppl watch). I can't afford to replace all the gear (it was basically a rig plus a few spares) and I was only pushing forward in the hopes of it becoming profitable and paying back in the future. I'll be making faceless for a while I guess I love it too much to quit.... I miss my ZV1 😭 lockdown also brought two kids with the new career so idk when but I'll for sure buy another one in a year or two, I only found aout about that little devil cuz of u and Ben Johnson hope to see a Collab soon with you two
I bought my ZV1 after watching a ton of videos on it. Yours were always my favourite and I purchased it through your link. (Along with some accessories!) I haven't had it for a full year yet, and am still learning how to use it. I tend to grab my iphone more often than not because it is so simple and works well for my videos. But, I'm getting more confident with the ZV1 and hope to feel as comfortable with it as I do my iphone. I have appreciated all your videos featuring the ZV1 and hope you'll continue to keep those of us who own one on our toes with new ideas!
I know, the camera on the phone can be tempting but try not to do that to much because every time you pickup and shoot with your camera that’s real experience gained
My ZV-1 is my go to b-roll and showroom floor interview camera. It's been tried and true for me. Thanks for all the advice on how to use this camera. It's been really helpful.!
I'm beggining my vlogging journey with the ZV-1, and the camera is en route to my home right now, expected to arrive today. Thank you for the beautiful overview of this camera - this video of yours is a work of art.
That's awesome. I don't want to hold you back though. When your ready to get a full frame you do it! The Zv-1 is a great trainer camera for when we get a chance to use the big cameras. If you were to pickup a better camera which one would it be?
This video shows how much you can achieve with so little if you have talent and creativity. Sony should listen to you and tune the ZV-1 III with you. Especially OEM accessories.
That was so inspiring - thanks so much! Definitely helped me to make an informed decision about getting one of these babies! I love your overall attitude and enthusiasm. Great job!
OMG!! I just found your video and so glad to watch it. I just bought ZV1 as my first camera yesterday. Now really can't wait to receive it. At first I was contemplating between this and Canon eos m200. But after watching many review and weighing my take to have a camera that easy to bring around yet have great features for beginner (except cannot change lens) that I can use for my daily life (taking pictures & video of my family, video for my channel & so on),I decided to pick ZV1. After watching your video, I'm so glad I bought it as my only camera even though it was released 2 years ago. Will definitely watch your other video to learn more bout ZV1.
I agree with everything you said here. Spot on. You helped my decide to buy this camera to take my content creation to the next level and it definitely has, i love it!
@@thefilmalliance tbh you have so much content that I haven’t even gone through it all yet. Currently im like 3 weeks into ownership and i have the zv1 + small rig cage + pgytech quick release plate + crab m2s and this thing is a beast. I use it for my job and my youtube. You’ve definitely helped my content making ability 10 fold man. Maybe a video on the different picture profiles? I think you’ve done that tho. Im currently in love with PP1 then i color grade in post. Maybe a video on cinematic in-camera effects like rack focusing or shot transitions
Amazing video! So much information and thought went into it! I just bought a ZV1 used, in great condition. I can't wait to start using it. I don't think a lot of people realize that it's essentially an RX100V with dedicated features for video. They both essentially do the same functions for photography, but I like those features that lean towards video over the RX100V. Plus, the ZV1 can be purchased used for around HALF the price of used RX100V's! Quite a revelation when on a budget but have more champagne taste! Lol You "earned" my subscription with all the thought and effort that you jammed into this awesome video!!! 😎🤘
Thanks for the detailed review! I love your approach in how you worked to find a way to make the camera work for you. People often lose sight on how amazing these tools can be with a little ingenuity. Definitely going to buy one myself!
Yes Ryan, I absolutely agree with you. They are amazing little tools, and so many people forget about them. Please tell me what you think about it when you get it.
Amazing review! I have the a7iv and picked up the zv1f for something pocketable but I think I might need to return it for this with the wide lens adapter… I’m so torn!
Thank you, Wait! before you return I rented the ZV-1f and want to try it out first. Ill make a couple videos on it trying my best to make the most out of it
@@thefilmalliance Awesome, I look forward to seeing those! It was so much fun to vlog with when I took it to Disney with me, so convenient! But I wonder if the focus and active stabilization works as well as the zv1?
11:55 - also, can we have a moment of appreciation for the cat and the lizzard - which had their patience tested by a cinematographer driving a lens right up their FACES 🤪 But seriously, it's been a pleasure and a good motivation to watch you grow and observe a real time progress of your journey. Not to mention that it becomes increasingly less common to see people who produce work arounds for technical and budgetary challanges, rather than just promoting upgrades and upsells. Good on'ya. 👍
@@thefilmalliance Nah, I opted to dive in with EOS M/50D into Magic Lantern world - it's a struggle! 😄 I have been eyeing ZV1 or RX1xx series for high FPS to replace my Nikon 1 though.
Had messaged you on Instagram about Microphone peaking with the ZV1. This camera definitely makes you problem solve. Wanted to share, that the internal microphone on the ZV1 I found out is great for loud environments. I shoot video at the drag race track which by nature is a very loud environment. The noise was too much for the Deity mic Duo, even at low audio level, and would peak instantly. After some trial and error, I found the internal mic, set to level 6 was perfect for recording the races. No peaking! Thanks for all your tips and tricks with the ZV1, they're the only reason my videos have come out well!
I have the Zv-1, the RX100 M7, and ZV-E10. Just because of the EVF and much better slow motion options, I use the RX100 M7 more than the other two combined. And yes, a gimbal is essential for all three cameras.
Hii Joe! This is one of the best videos I've seen about the Sony Zv1, thank you so much for making such an in-depth video about it. I'm a Canon lover, and I've been using their cameras for years, the DSLR but also the trusty Canon G7x Mark II. I love how easy they are to use etc. But I got the ZV1 to be able to shoot 4K and have a good backup vlogging camera. And I was not happy, exactly for all the same reasons you were saying. And it was annoying because so many of the top creators on YT were raving about it. But I thought the photos turned out really bad, the low light was bad, and also the stabilizer was not working well. And yeah I did attach the wide-angle lens, but I was shooting in warmer countries, so it kept falling off, and the glue would not stick. And eventually, the glue moved to the lens and the camera lens broke while I was filming for work. So pretty frustrating, and yeah the fact that it dies after 30 minutes. I honestly feel like I got a defective camera, but that is just how it's performing haha. I don't know, your video was very inspiring, maybe I should buy a gimble for it and give it another chance. Still mad about the photo quality tho 😅
Had my ZV-1 since it's release & I use it pretty much ONLY for video, at this point - perched on the cool Crane M3 gimbal. Planning to take these with me to Greece later this year to get the best possible footage out there. I also like using it for top-down product unboxings & shots - the Product Showcase feature is really good for this. Thanks for all your enthusiasm & information on this little gem of a camera - I'm constantly referring back to your videos when I need clarification on any aspect of this camera!
Hi Ken, Man that was really nice. Thanks for taking the time to share that. I’m excited for the ZB 2 and what else Sony is going to release. Thanks for always sending words of encouragement my way. it’s funny but I actually refer back to my videos also ha ha
So good and indepth! Definitely things to think about. Me as always, late to the party. Just picked up a ZV-1 over summer so I can use it where I can't take a pro level camera and am just now beginning to mess around with it. I got one of those Ulanzi wide-angle lens attachments... the ring won't stay seated where applied, it likes to slide to the side a little which makes my ocd a little nutty hahaaa! I'm like you too, I don't care for Catalyst Browse much, it crops in too much and there's no way to really move the video to decide where to crop it at so got a crane m2s to help stabilize when moving around. Definitely a learning curve from the ZV-E10, you'd think they would be almost the same, but lol nope, new things to learn. Atleast the camera menus are the same.
Hey Diane, I haven’t heard from you in awhile. Thanks for chiming in and don’t be a stranger! I’m happy you got the ZV-1 and I hope you get a lot of great footage with it
Yup, the ZV-1 is great. I love your videos on the ZV-1 and they have helped me get more out of. Thank you! I have acouple thoughts that could improve your setup. One is to replace the Smallrig cage with a Ulanzi cage - the Arca compatible attachment is already part of the cage. The other thought is to use the Ulanzi Claw quick release to make changing batteries and cards even faster. I am looking forward to more of your content!
Great video, love the spirit and approach. There will always be a next, better gadget. And your YT videos are getting better and bette, and you look so much more confident and relaxed. Well-done, keep it up!!
Great video, amazing to see how much you put that little machine through its paces! Guess I'll start studying your channel now, as I'd like to shoot more video with my ZV-1 (the kids love to make short "zombie" movies, and I can't imagine bringing something bigger than the ZV-1 for those shenanigans 😆)
I'm glad you inspired me to get a ZV1. Even though I have an a7iv the zv1 has really been an asset, and adds a lot that the a7iv cannot do... even as simple as just fitting in my pocket.
Dude, I love all of your videos. Your creative journey with the Zv1 is inspiring and your knowledge has been so beneficial to how I use my own Zv1. Thank you for your hard work.
@@thefilmalliance I am a travel vlogger (new on the scene)...so amateur at best. Much like you said, the Zv1 forces you to push your own creative boundaries. As someone who is quite new with operating cameras, the zvi has already presented so many challenges which are as exciting to overcome as they are fun. Finalizing gopro vlogs for now from Iran and am getting into a hybrid zv1 style with upcoming content. Thanks for the vids. Looking forward to more.
I’m getting one as an anniversary gift. I used to own a Sony compact digital camera 10 years ago but once it died I just used my phone. Now I miss having a separate camera and although I have a iPhone I want to use my phone for social media but the zv1 for being creative making videos.
Amazing video, ive learned alot from watching your videos and my settings match yours as well as my PP. Thanks for all your help and for keeping the ZV1 true (as in you shoot actual content with it). I also have the Zhiyun crane m2 but still cant get it to work properly even after following their sites isntructions
Dude love your attitude!! So good. I have been looking into this camera as its time to move up to something other than my phone. I find alot of these now on sale and very lightly used so I should be able to save. So ill be grabbing one soon. Thanks again….. 👍🏼 smashed 💥 🙌🏼
Glad that it helped you. I also appreciate you taking the time to comment and let me know. Btw your channel is awesome, just checked it out:). Have you grabbed one yet?
@@thefilmalliance Thank you, then channel has been coming along and obviously it’s a learning game the whole time. I just picked up a bundle pack from someone selling a lot with it. Crane 3, Ulanzi lense. Sony grip, small rig cage, 3 extra battiers, lcd protector, ulanzi light which I already have one. Small road mic as well. And maybe another little item but was a good bundle deal. So will see how it does with my style of videos. And will it do better than my phone for what I’m trying to do. Phone works great for some stuff and other things not so much. Focus is mainly the issues. Should have it next week. 👍🏼
Only tomorrow I will start to get acquainted live with this camera, but I am very inspired by your videos, with cinematic effects. I will learn from you and use them for my common video project with my beloved. It was important for us to have a compact and convenient camera that shoots 4K video. But this camera has many more nice features.
That is so awesome. The zv1 does have a lot of very nice features. You are definitely right about that. Thank you so much for this nice comment. Are you happy with the ZV1 so far?
Thank you Joe, I just got my first ZV1 ever, I am waiting on the delivery and so excited about it. Love your content man! How does it work on Zoom or streaming?
I'm ditching big gear... Left full frame setup with pro lenses... to APSC with kit lens... Now trying point and shoot. The prosumer / professional gear is PITA to use. 99% of the time I can use smaller / prosumer gear and get the shot just as well with less of the hassle.
Hey man, nice review! Also great point with the tool getting the shots needed. I learned this after spending 8 years with the alpha line and now use my phone and go pros more than I thought simply because you can do things you just can’t with professional equipment and if you can it’ll cost 💲 Great points 👍🏼
I’m 2 minutes in and love the intro! I’ve been using the ZV1 and almost all the tricks I know were learned from this channel. I recently picked up the ZV E10 and most of those tricks transferred over. I’m still using Catalyst Browse, but it doesn’t work well at some shutter speeds. So, I’ll need a gimbal to clean up future shoots. Thanks!
Hey there, haha That's awesome, It seems like you and I are in the same learning curve arc. Maybe we will one day see the benefits of Catalyst. Do you have your eye on any particular gimbal? I think the M2s is the right one for the ZV-1
I actually got a gimbal not long ago and now can shoot video in standard instead of active stab. ZV-1 looks quite a bit worse in Active than Standard IMO. Infact you might as well use an iPhone on 4K60 As for photos thought ZV-1 takes wayyy better photos than any 1/2 sensor phone.
Bro this was really powerful "Work with what you got" Especially when most of us can't afford a $4k camera And even with a expensive camera, if you don't know how to adapt, it'll still not be up to par.
I think I got this camera right around when you started videos about it. I have used your picture profile, wide angle lens suggestion, gimbal, and color grading techniques. I will say though, mine has overheated and shut off here in AZ at about 90deg. My skin tone compared to the Canon r5 was way off, and I didn't like taking pictures without an evf. But it is a fantastic camera to get you into making videos!
Thanks so much, yes once you graduate to a bigger camera you really start to notice the limitations Zv-1 has. i’m so happy you got that canon. that will really help your channel grow I think
Good video! I have always been interested in filmmaking. I have been trying to figure out what camera to start with. Do you recommend this camera for a beginner? I have done a good bit of research but I can't decide what camera to start with. I know that 24fps is the frame rate for the film look but I know that the story you are trying to tell and other things are more important than the camera. I don't have much of a budget (Something around $500 to $700) Would love to find something a little cheaper than that to start with. Thank you in advance.
Zv series has been great until now, I own a zve10 for wedding videos and it's amazing, I don't even use a gimbal just active stabilizer and catalyst browse for waking shoots
Fabulous review - really inspirational. You have taught me a lot about this little camera and want to thank you for taking the time and effort in making theses great videos.
I bought the ZV-1 as my "good" backpacking camera. Rather then a bunch of lenses and a high end A7x that would weigh me down, I reasoned this was a better solution for a lightweight camera. It has been a workhorse for me and I love it. When I am on the trail the gopro does its thing, but when we are stopped and motion is not as big of an issue out comes the ZV-1. It is also my picture camera and with some nice software tools you can really get some nice pictures out of this thing. All the thumbnails you see on my videos were taken with a ZV-1
@@thefilmalliance My biggest challenge is always getting the most dynamic range out of the 8 bit converter, and color balancing. I have standardized on Slog2 REC2020 and have a LUT I use in Davinci Resolve before saving out to REC709 as my standard workflow, but not always happy with the results. If you have experience with the best shooting setup/log curve/LUT for best dynamic range and color I would be interested.
Great video. I am still using Sony ZV-1 with zhiyun crane m3 gimball and Sony ECM-W2BT microphone for my videos and it's great connection and quality :) Thx
@@thefilmalliance No. Usually one battery is enough for one video on my channel. Sometimes I connect my powerbank to zv-1 when I need to record longer videos. To connect crane m3 with zv-1 I bought transmount and bluetooth connector for it. I can take pictures, record videos wireless using gimbal buttons :)
I love these "two years later" videos of people who really use the product and know what they do. Great content, keep going!

I'm hoping this fabled ZV-2 will be a solid 2nd Gen and have built-in ND because the lack of ND is why I passed on the ZV-E10. Thanks Joe for your videos. You are the Champion for the camera.
Thanks so much for the support, and all of your insight. Do you shoot professionally, or as a hobby?
@@thefilmalliance Haha, if you mean "professionally" that how I make a living? Then it's a firm No. But I do work in the coffee industry and my videos are about coffee, so there's that! But, in a previous life, I did motion picture production for nearly 15 years.
I've just bought one of these and you have just gave me a huge buzz and inspired me so much to get the absolute most out of this wee thing and let it teach me how to use cameras. Thanks man!
Glad to hear. Are there any videos that you would like to see on the Zv1 anytime soon?
The intro self is very unique. The very reason I continued to watch the complete video!
Thank you so much. Do you have a zv1? If so, what do you think about it?
I miss my ZV1 😭 lockdown also brought two kids with the new career so idk when but I'll for sure buy another one in a year or two, I only found aout about that little devil cuz of u and Ben Johnson hope to see a Collab soon with you two
thank you so much joe...i already bought it and still learning to use this incredible cam
Bro! You're the reason I have 3 zv1s with every accessory possible. Thanks man, you're stuff is amazing.
Thank you, Im happy your getting value from these videos
I just ordered my ZV1 thanks to hours of research (many of which came from your channel). Thanks for sharing your experience.
Great, so glad that you chose the Zv1. Please tell me what you think about it so far.
Thank you, I am glad you are getting value from my videos.
I'm beggining my vlogging journey with the ZV-1, and the camera is en route to my home right now, expected to arrive today. Thank you for the beautiful overview of this camera - this video of yours is a work of art.
Thank you so much. Congrats on getting your Zv1, and please tell me what you think about it when you get it.
This is probably The best ZV-1 channel on UA-cam. :D

Just bought one. Pretty blown away with the feature packed little powerhouse.
Thanks Joe! I’m still learning, and because of your videos, I’m still keeping my zv1!

Your consistent positivity is oddly satisfying and addicting!

SONY ZV-1 is the BEST! WE love it two years later as well- FAB camera just gorgeous clarity and fast shoots! AMAZING! We see NO limitations! the BEST!
Thanks for the motivation. I think it all depends on the user and what they’re using it for.
I am so disappointed with it. Returning it soon
I just bought a pretty neat used ZV-1 for 320 USD here in Perú. This video made me buy it. Thanks for this video.
Just bought this camera and appreciate your video. Thanks.
Glad I could help!
It's knowing how to use the camera because the camera can do just about anything. As you've already shown. Good video Joe!
Thanks so much for all of the encouragement. I agree with what you said. Do you have the ZV1?
That was so inspiring - thanks so much! Definitely helped me to make an informed decision about getting one of these babies! I love your overall attitude and enthusiasm. Great job!
ZV1 - i love it because of how compact and self sufficient it is for my needs. Perfect camera. My first camera
Hey there, yes and you will graduate to a bigger and better camera if you keep pushing forward with this craft? Are you doing any client work?

Great, I am so glad that it helped. Thank you for saying that. Are there any Zv1 vids that you would personally like to see? I love suggestions.
Man, I hope you will have a review for the ZV-2 coming up! Stoked!
Up today! And more to come.
Lol
You "earned" my subscription with all the thought and effort that you jammed into this awesome video!!!
Absolutely loved this. Thanks so much

11:55 - also, can we have a moment of appreciation for the cat and the lizzard - which had their patience tested by a cinematographer driving a lens right up their FACES 🤪
But seriously, it's been a pleasure and a good motivation to watch you grow and observe a real time progress of your journey. Not to mention that it becomes increasingly less common to see people who produce work arounds for technical and budgetary challanges, rather than just promoting upgrades and upsells. Good on'ya. 👍
Thanks Mack! Haha Do you have he ZV-1
@@thefilmalliance Nah, I opted to dive in with EOS M/50D into Magic Lantern world - it's a struggle! 😄 I have been eyeing ZV1 or RX1xx series for high FPS to replace my Nikon 1 though.

Fantastic video, thank you so much!!
Thank you, that was so nice of you! Wait! Before you give it another shot, have you thought about selling it and picking up the ZV-E10?

Thank you so much. Im glad that my video helped you to use your ZV1. Are you more into photography or filmmaking?
This video did give ya a chance to showcase all your magnificent footage 👍
Hey there, yes, As I was editing I was like wow I have a huge bank to choose from. Have you seen all the videos I referenced in this video?
@@thefilmalliance Ive seen all your videos. Ive rewatched many of them several times
Love these videos, they've helped me immensely to utilize my ZV-1. Thanks for the great content!
That's great. I am happy that it helped. How do you like your Zv1?
I’m happy you got the ZV-1 and I hope you get a lot of great footage with it
THIS IS REALLY SO AMAZING 💝

Wow! What an intro.
Wow, those are all great suggestions. Thank you so much for that. I really appreciate it and will look into it.
Damn. I loved that intro! Awesome 1min and 44 seconds!

Great video, amazing to see how much you put that little machine through its paces! Guess I'll start studying your channel now, as I'd like to shoot more video with my ZV-1 (the kids love to make short "zombie" movies, and I can't imagine bringing something bigger than the ZV-1 for those shenanigans 😆)
that's a lot more than a review. can't even call it a review. it's a motivational inspiring video that just circles around a great camera.
Wow, thank you. That is so kind and encouraging.
I'm glad you inspired me to get a ZV1. Even though I have an a7iv the zv1 has really been an asset, and adds a lot that the a7iv cannot do... even as simple as just fitting in my pocket.
Hi Aaron, that’s awesome. Are you able to get the colors to match up with your A74?
I am going from a Go Pro to this so I’m super stoked!!!
I love my ZV-1. I think it's incredible. Pairs well with my Sony cybershot rx10 mark IV

I’m getting one as an anniversary gift. I used to own a Sony compact digital camera 10 years ago but once it died I just used my phone. Now I miss having a separate camera and although I have a iPhone I want to use my phone for social media but the zv1 for being creative making videos.

@@thefilmalliance Thank you, then channel has been coming along and obviously it’s a learning game the whole time.

I learned this after spending 8 years with the alpha line and now use my phone and go pros more than I thought simply because you can do things you just can’t with professional equipment and if you can it’ll cost 💲
Great points 👍🏼
Infact you might as well use an iPhone on 4K60
As for photos thought ZV-1 takes wayyy better photos than any 1/2 sensor phone.
Bro this was really powerful
"Work with what you got" Especially when most of us can't afford a $4k camera
And even with a expensive camera, if you don't know how to adapt, it'll still not be up to par.
Love my Zv1 I got it open box for about 500 it’s a great camera for what it is!
Yes, I agree. It is a great camera.
I love my Sony ZV-1 small but mighty power don’t let the size fool you.
yes exactly. that’s why the battery runs out so fast. it’s like a work horse haha
Thank you in advance.
i have a zv1. you are spot on on everything. liked and shared. love from malaysia
Thanks for that. Yes we have the same experience. Thanks for reaching out
Came here for the camera reviews, stayed for the storytelling
Haha, thanks so much. I really appreciate it. But which one did you like better?:)
@@thefilmalliance The story telling for sure. Anyone can review a product, but not everyone can tell a compelling story!
Wow, those are some nice thumbnails. Are there any specific videos on the zv1 that you would like to see anytime soon?
@@thefilmalliance My biggest challenge is always getting the most dynamic range out of the 8 bit converter, and color balancing. I have standardized on Slog2 REC2020 and have a LUT I use in Davinci Resolve before saving out to REC709 as my standard workflow, but not always happy with the results. If you have experience with the best shooting setup/log curve/LUT for best dynamic range and color I would be interested.
Great video! Just got one to do shorts and reels… and random pics when I travel. I think it does the job!
Hi Vicky, what great usage for the ZV-1. Please make sure to get extra batteries!
Great video. I am still using Sony ZV-1 with zhiyun crane m3 gimball and Sony ECM-W2BT microphone for my videos and it's great connection and quality :) Thx
It is nice camera but battery is weak :) Maybe ZV-2 will be improved
@@zbigzbig20 Yes battery is weak but I bought 5 batteries so it is not problem for me now. But also I am waiting for ZV-2 :)
that sounds like a great set up do you power the ZV1 from the gimbal?
@@thefilmalliance No. Usually one battery is enough for one video on my channel. Sometimes I connect my powerbank to zv-1 when I need to record longer videos. To connect crane m3 with zv-1 I bought transmount and bluetooth connector for it. I can take pictures, record videos wireless using gimbal buttons :)
