I knew that this song was originally by Ataullah Khan because my papa is a huge fan of him .Many songs of him are remade in Bollywood(mostly by Jubin Nautiyal).He’s known for his sad songs. Papa use to say his songs are incomplete without words like ’bewafai’,’ruswai’,’Janaza’,Mayyat’.😂

Actually, initially I did not know that Sonu also sang this song. I grew up listening to the original version (Atahulla Khan's Version). Then, the movie came. But no doubt Sonu Sir did justice to the some and it became a cult favorite.

To be honest, I didn't knew that it was first sung by Atah Ullah Khan, but both retro versions were best. The remake may sound catchy but still sometimes my ear hurts while listening to sad songs of B Praak because of those "Tilasmi Harkatein"😆😆 nahi sachhi aise words kahan se milte hain aapko!! Being from Punjab, it hurts to see Jaani being a part of something like this. Kaha uske gaane - "Mastaani", "Qismat", "Awaaz" and then he changed everything to write "Baarish ki Jaye", "Filhaal" etc 😭

I think b praak sings too much songs of jaani, kisi aur ko bhi gaane chahiye. Music acha product kiya hai but voice is not matching with the style of the song
