Discovering Menton & Monaco: The Best of French Riviera & Monaco's Marvels 🇫🇷🇲🇨

- After driving 1500 miles our France trip lands in THE BEST town on the French Riviera and we visit the second smallest, and wealthiest, country in the World all in one day!
Menton is a town within touching distance of Italy but with all the charms of France. In fact it blends both French and Italian themes amazingly well, we had to go and check it out. We left the van at our campsite and hopped on the train from Nice to Menton to check out the Pearl of the French Riviera.
After exploring the old town, market, extensive beaches and the amazing winding Roman streets we stumble across the impressive Basilica of Saint-Michel-Archange. Outside it is amazing, and we'd have loved to look inside but it was shut when we were there. That said the surrounding streets were also stunning.
We passed Monaco on the way to Menton on the train, so in the afternoon we decided to make a short stop in this millionaires playground. We'd have loved more time there, but managed to see the casino and a few other sites. Oh and the cars - an interesting and funny experience.

Definitely recommend Menton. It’s given us a glimpse of Italy despite being in France. Maybe Italy next year? 🤔

Oh it was hustle and bustle in Monaco for sure. Menton was much quieter than Nice and Monaco, but still busy as it was high season. Lovely place though.

This is exactly what we found. Same sort of vibe as Vegas where we went we thought in Monaco - not just the casino but the overall spectacle of it all. Menton is amazing and we’d love more time there for sure. Any tips for next time?
From the town if you walk along the sea front towards the Italian border, you come across quite a few smaller cafes, restaurants alongside the marina.
Also, little known fact, William Webb Ellis, founder of the sport of Rugby is buried in the cemetery up by the church you visited. It has awesome views along the coast in both directions.

Thanks mate 😂. The van is performing well and the ball valve (touch wood) is working great. It’s really handy being able to open it via the VRM app too. So far so good with that.
