Why does everyone keep comparing powerful characters to Superman,
Everyone knows Shazam is way stronger and is suppose to be faster
Also Shazam’s essence is Superman’s weakness

Superman even stated that he's fast but Shazam is faster because he has the speed of a God
They both recognize each other as equals. And remember the longer Superman is alive the more powerful he becomes.

Magical characters tend to be the most powerful character in comics, so they tend to either need to be kept constantly busy guarding some cosmic-level threat or severely limited.

I would love it if she appeared on either. But I have my doubts.
Zatanna was in Smallville. But yh I want her to return.
Since Smallville is at least tangentially part of the Arrowverse, it could happen.

Similar power restriction to Shazam/Original Captain Marvel, he also has the restriction that he can't say his own name - Captain Marvel Jr., as the words "Captain Marvel" are his magic words instead of "Shazam". But I guess he no longer exists in the DC Universe.

Isn't it that he can always use his powers, just that he refuses to unless it is something universal or more?
That's not a restriction. Why would he handle threats that are way below his level when there are so many superheroes who can do that.
He can use his powers anytime but he only intervenes when there is a cosmic imbalance. Like when Thanos becomes the new Eternity. The Tribunal could have stopped it but if Eternity wasn't powerful enough to save himself then he deserves to be replaced by a new Eternity.

In Young Justice Doctor Fates newest host is Zatanna's father, the spirit Nabu allows him to spend only one hour away from him once a year, this saddens Zatanna greatly. Also she has had a "Relationship" with John Constantin and seeing as she would rather hit him with a building then be around him I can only guess what went on between them
Alan Scott's weakness to wood has to be the stupidest power restriction of recurring comic characters.

I would consider Zatanna having to speak in reverse in order to do anything to be a pretty big limitation. (or was that a thing only in Young Justice?)
No she's always had to speak backwards to access her full potential. There was a JLA story where she spoke spells normally, but it's because another wizard was acting against her, and the rest of the League.
This video was full of very weird n unusual characters. So nice job Top 10 Nerd. As for a part 2 of this list. I don't know. If you put it out I will watch it. But if you don't I won't care.

@Odd haven if you don't count the "use too much power" because Superman's solar flame is a technique that uses too much power and at the attack, Superman is just as vulnerable and human as us.

I personally think that OP characters are more interesting when held back by character flaws rather than a random power stipulation

Great top 10, however not to be nit picky, Spectre's limitations in some cases are necessary & completely placed upon by The Prescence. The Spectre is the Spirit of Vengeance, if not controlled, his seeking vengeance could go to far. He is a magical being that when sometimes depicted seemed omnipotent. For example, Saga of Swamp Thing #50 & Swsmp Thing annual #1. In the 40's, there seemed no limit to his abilities. It was in the 70's that writers decided to tone him down, hence adventure comics. Also the animated showcase piece toned him down but maintained how awsome & true to being Spirit of Vengeance. Dr.Fate also depending on writer or era very powerful or weak. Also confusing if it is Nabu possessing helmut or it is Kent really in charge.

I've watched all the 4 videos it this restrictions and why not the little known character, Captain Carrot.
For people who are saying, who, Rodney Roger Rabbit was from Earth C and when Starro the Conquorer was attacking Earth One, some radioactive meteors ended up on Earth C giving six sentient animals superpowers. Rodney's meteor landed in a window box where he grew carrots. Those carrots gave him superpowers for 24 hours after which he needed eat another carrot.
