Yokomo yd2 rear wheel drive, pro drifter, easier to drift, technically all wheel drive is power sliding. Rear wheel drive are what the pros are using to drift, I’m not trolling, It’s not that serious, Love your shows, keep it up
It’s definitely still nice but you can’t really call it professional...... I recommend getting one of the yokomo yd2 variants, the sxiii is most used by people. Also if you do build it, proper good quality electronics are highly recommended and don’t expect to be an absolute pro the first go you give it. It’s a skill you have to practice and tune the car. One last thing is you need a gyro for rwd
3Racing Sakura D5S its a good real rwd rc drifter if you want to test out rc drifting. It comes as a Kit, you'll need a body and electronics to complete the build.

I have the touring version of this model the brand is called Blaze and the model R2 ! The car is based on xray t4 2014-2018 not exactly on one model ! For the price its a good model al though you can't compare it to carbon fiber cars! For stock classes it can hold a bit, for modified class tho not a chance you need a lot of upgrades from xray to run properly! First of all, driveshafts secondly shocks thirdly you need to mod the plastic spur mount and motor mount in order to achieve certain gear ratios for small to medium tracks ! For drift car it migth be good i dont know ! Let me know if you have any questions!

they arent touring bodies, theyre drift bodies. but its a big trial and error or just measuring to find good fitment. these guys just slapped bodies on.

This might be a little unrelated but I will really appreciate your feedback. I have bought a relatively cheap toy car and I can see the battery pack removed and replaced with li-ion 3.7v. The battery cavity has righting of 4.8v so it seems that it originally takes 4 AA batteries. My question is, is li-ion 3.7v better than 4 AA rechargeable 1.2V? I have tons of varta rechargeable AA 3700mah and I feel like getting a box and putting 4 AA in it like originally intended will be better than buying li-ion and charger for it. And I think the maximum li-ion capacity would be around 3000mah and I have to get a legit one to avoid fire. Thank you!

Who cares? 😂 the drift community uses a gyroscope. This is embarrassing to me. 50% of the work is done by the computer. in 4WD, at least 100% of the movements are made by the driver.

I am no expert by a longshot, but ive done some RC drifting a bunch. I own a sakura d5 and its great even though its on the cheaper side of the RWD rc kits. Knowing what I know now though, I probably wouldve went with a Yokomo YD2 series car. They have more options available that are direct fit and more of a following behind the brand. Love the drifting content kev, even if its just power sliding ;)
@@2smallgarage268 Yea. If you have 400$, and for sure want a RWD drifter, it’s a great deal. But it doesn’t compare to a YD2 with proper electronics. Just know that ur skill ceiling isn’t that high with a D5 chasis. At least without modification of course

It won't break on a smooth surface, it just caught a hard edge sliding sideways... the drift tires have no give so careful over the ridges and you're fine!

4wd is cool, but for more realistic rc drifting do a rwd chassis. There are budget rwd chassis’ that work very well just like the big dollar chassis’. Sick vid 🤘🏼

Learning how to properly drift a rwd drift takes some skill. Drifting in an awd drift car would be power sliding. I have an RMX 2.0 and it’s a blast. So many upgrades to personalize your drift car. This winter I plan on honing my drift skills at my local track. You can never go wrong with a Yokomo drift car!!!! Top notch!!!! Driver skill is what’s gonna make the difference either way!!! 👊👊👍👍
looks like kevins is a countersteer car, where the front diff is spinning slower than the rear. helps with some stability, gives the illusion of a RWD without the weird powersliding look of a full awd like a 4tec. good for a beginner.

It's because they didn't get low enough offset wheels for it.

Didn't know people still drifted 4wd. There are tons of cheap, good 2wd kits. 4wd is history.
RMX 2.5 or 3.0 would be a better drift car 👍
Id advise against it if you or kev taking the suggestion arent very comfortable in drift considering the rmx3kmw is 2000aud and the 2.5 is 650aud
