Actually the Roman Republic kinda had an electoral college system, just based on class, not regions. (Well, the Tribal Assembly was kinda based on region, but that's not as commonly used)

As a proud inhabitant of Pannonia Superior, I say we keep our glorious system the same, the Imperial faction has always had all our best in mind, and we need to keep backing them up.
Especially in their endeavours across the Danube, you can see their good will and intend to serve us all, not like the senatorial faction, who intents to just increase taxes for some more far away circuses.

there's a reason it lasted longer than any other democracy (presuming you count it as a democracy lol)
it evolved to favour the actual keys to power, directly the rich had priority in assemblies while the poor who made up the military were given their own powerful offices (IE: Tribune of the Plebs), it was an incredibly stable system despite falling apart in into empire in the end

Theoretically, you could win each province with 2 votes each. Just have everybody except for 2 of them vote for a unique party, and the remaining 2 vote for yours. You will have the majority.
And then Aurelian got 95 percent of the popular vote and 100 perccent of the electoral college vote, and The Senate made Rome it's own city just before that happened.
So what I don’t get is why literally all the electoral votes of a prefecture have to go to the same candidate. Wouldn’t it be a lot better if every prefecture votes proportionally to how its citizens voted?

This may be a parody, but it isn't actually far from the truth. The Roman Republic (which helped inspire the US Republic) had voting for its positions based on "Centuries" which were very skewed towards the higher (ie. richer) Centuries, despite them being only a fraction of a percentage of the citizenry. It's almost as if the rich and powerful didn't think anyone else should have a say...
The funny thing is this would be a Massie improvement on the actual Romn system. In real life, the Plebians, 90% of the population of the city of Rome, got a whopping 1 vote. Also, you could only vote if you could afford to actually travel to the city of Rome for the election.
Nah, this system is wonderful! In fact, it's not monarchical enough! But I don't mind a good elective monarchy, so long as it actually works and doesn't decay quickly or irreparably.

Since the USA has an electoral system for electing the president, where the winner within the state gets all the electoral votes, it is possible (roughly) to beat someone who has three times as many votes.
How, so in states where you win you have 50%+1 vote, and where you lose you have 0%. Dear American friends, please correct me if I am wrong, and if there is anyone, please calculate what the exact minimum percentage needed to win would be.

Would have been cool if you added somthing about only roman citizens being allowed to vote, but still counting for the electoral college. Maybe each non citizen count for 3/5's of a citizen for the electoral votes. With large parts of the border provinces not being citizens, this would rig the vote even further infavour of the imperial factions.

He was only popular in Sicily which he didn’t even win due to FPTP’s horrible system and can therefore be categorized as a minor candidate not worth mentioning.
The Electoral College is awful perhaps in many regards but most alternatives are significantly worse in my view.
