Being able to unlock such a powerful memory for so many of what an impact Bungie and 343 had on like all these folks said, our childhood our upbringing, “core memories” for so many came from that game and the 1,000s of people you just reached with that same shared 2:24 is something special thank you for your time.

Not that I wasn't acquainted with orchestral music in video games, but when I heard the Gregorian chant opening, I was blown away to the point I was wondering if this was the right game. This classical rendition brought that memory rushing in and I was 13 all over again for a minute. Excellent work, and you're inspiring me to pick up my guitar again if for nothing else than to learn this.
Crazy how easily it goes from a mysterious scifi song to a badass wild west theme. EDIT: Ya'll are crazy, it definitely sounds wild west. If you hear this (especially the beginning) and don't picture tumbleweeds rolling across the desert then I don't even know what to tell you. But I'll admit the later part definitely sounds like something you'd hear in The Witcher or something.

Halo 2 and Halo 3 LAN parties are still, to this day, some of the best and greatest memories ever. Hanging with your friends, staying up late, eating junk food, and just having an amazing time together. Makes you miss the days of youth when times were a bit easier 😢 Bravo! One of the best renditions of a Halo song I’ve ever heard. Period.
Nah, obviously its a Fantasy setting version of the storyline. Instead of the Elites, Grunts, Jackals, and Brutes you have Orcs, Goblins, Kobolds, and Ogres. Instead of guns you've got magic and swords. Instead of the flood you have an undead hivemind led by a lich who gave himself to his creation. Honestly it sounds really badass and I cant help but picture it this way XD

As someone who was in junior high/highschool when this game came out, and played it a ton with friends during the true good old days of life. This is incredible to hear, it carries the same nostalgia as the original with a new layer of beauty added to an already perfect video game soundtrack. Gives me chills remembering those simple times. Im 36 now and haven't played a console in almost a decade. Cherish the time spent with your friends and without the stress of life. It doesn't last. But it can always be remembered through things of this nature, vividly, and beautifully as well💪🏼🙏

Halo 2 and Halo 3 LAN parties are still, to this day, some of the best and greatest memories ever. Hanging with your friends, staying up late, eating junk food, and just having an amazing time together. Makes you miss the days of youth when times were a bit easier 😢

Nah, obviously its a Fantasy setting version of the storyline. Instead of the Elites, Grunts, Jackals, and Brutes you have Orcs, Goblins, Kobolds, and Ogres. Instead of guns you've got magic and swords. Instead of the flood you have an undead hivemind led by a lich who gave himself to his creation. Honestly it sounds really badass and I cant help but picture it this way XD

I dunno, the little kid in me that loved dragons and knights never really died lol
The octave drop at 1:22 was SO WELL DONE and the chord voicings you chose for it add such a unique flair

@@pedxing ok, why can I imagine this being the theme for cheif after him and his group of Spartans dropping onto a ring, but getting shot out of the air part way and having their stuff destroyed, making it so their stuff like their AI's, vehicles, food, and ammo unusable from damage to a luggage part of the drop pod, and forcing them to just rely on nothing more then stolen covenant equipment and scraps from the other soldiers who got massacred when the Spartans didn't make it to the drop location in time

As someone who was in junior high/highschool when this game came out, and played it a ton with friends during the true good old days of life. This is incredible to hear, it carries the same nostalgia as the original with a new layer of beauty added to an already perfect video game soundtrack. Gives me chills remembering those simple times. Im 36 now and haven't played a console in almost a decade. Cherish the time spent with your friends and without the stress of life. It doesn't last. But it can always be remembered through things of this nature, vividly, and beautifully as well💪🏼🙏

When you see how complicated 1:15 to 1:30 is to do on an acoustic guitar, you realize how much the song is an absolute masterpiece. Genius work.
It isn't even that complicated compared to what's possible.
That section seemed one of the easier parts to me. As a classical guitarist, I was much more impressed with his use of strumming in this performance.
