We grew up with gopher turtles, and many giant indigo snakes, and since the built all these thousands of houses for housing here in ludowici, GA, I haven't seen either 1 here in like 10 years
Big fan of the Orianne Society, This was a Beautiful documentary showcasing one of my favorite Florida ecosystems. And a Huge! Thank You, for not Bombarding us with loads of "Mid Roll Ads"
Wow what a great documentary! I am reading Edward O. Wilson's novel, " The Anthill " and I thought, ""I wonder if there is anything on UA-cam about the longleaf pine savanna ecosystem? " I will never experience this part of the world, being a Canadian and all but I thank all of you featured in this film for the great work that you are doing! Bless you and bless you again! Thank you to the filmmakers as well.
My grandfather showed us what the Longleaf pine looks like in its grass stage. I was taught that it grows a strong root first, and uses those very long needles to gather sunlight, and finally it decides to shoot upwards. One of my favorite woods is a strong heavy Longleaf pine board. Ive weighed samples that were as heavy as our northern hardwoods. In my state we have the very light and easy to work White Pine. All of them serve their purpose
Could you please show the plant from Chiapas Mexico upclose. I grew some from seeds I collected. They turned out so Beautiful. Would love to hear your thoughts on "chiapas".
Yeah, The Indigo snake. Impressive animal indeed. I have one on my property Or possibly Had, Its been a year or two since I have seen him..but.., My Damn neighbor was gonna shoot it. I picked it up and showed him off a little and explained how they get that sheen. and how they kill copperheads and Moccasins. , My neighbor may think Im crazy for picking up a 6 foot long snake but He has a little more understanding about our area. Plus, we all know, Don't piss off the crazy guy next door. XP.
Can't get enough of documentaries about 1 specific organism. I have a lot of books about plants and single plant books are my favourite.
Fantastic video! I am in the process of restoring 250 acs of land in GA into a Longleaf Pine ecosystem, the video reinforce its importance.
I am trying to do something similar and looking for information
Good for you!
I got a very, very old 1 on my land, but I haven't seen a few like it

St. JOES Tree
I give this video a thumbs down due to the way these innocent animals are being handled and how they are being treated in this video.
The animals are fine, do you not understand they’re literally saving them and their natural environment? Nobody handled them poorly.
