I drove my ‘02 Honda Civic LX for 18 years (14 of those years with no car payment). So it was definitely waaay past time for an upgrade! Just bought a brand new 2023 Civic Touring last month, for cash. No car payments! Yay! 🥳 I chose the Touring over the Sport primarily because 1) I could get the ivory seats instead of black (I’m in South FL and it’s far too hot for black seats!) and 2) I wanted the power seats that would go UP! I’m 4’11”, so reaching the pedals while also being able to see over the steering wheel is a real concern. I love all of the additional tech too. I really like the toned down exterior compared to the 10th gen and the interior is gorgeous. Mine is meteorite gray with the ivory seats. It looks/feels like a semi-luxury sedan. I’m super happy with it so far. 😊
Definitely can’t go wrong i love the car so far aswell
Good video bro, I went with the sport. Saved myself the $5k
Same here I actually think the system sounds great in the sport.
Imma do the same and get katskin leather, new sound and a deck when they come out
Nah I need that 180 horsepower sound system and roof screen definitely justifies the extra 5k
@Fabian6980 it really don't. U might aswell a Si
@@staygrinding3817hell nah, 25 mpg is trash
I would go for the Touring, pretty nice amenities & I like the new design overall of the Civic. The black wheels are nice on the Sport but the no amenities, no fun lol
Just ordered the 22 civic sport as my first car
That’s also gonna be my first car..did you got yours yet
@@harpreetgill4941 yes, and it’s a great car
You got the good 2.0 motor. After reading the 1.5 turbo problems I went with the 2.0. Just look at the dealerships used cars. They are all selling their used 1.5 turbo cars.
What color
Good job bro. Great coverage. Going with touring, sunroof and turbo did it for me.
Yeah I think I’m leaning towards to the touring too
Good luck. I’d rather have the 2.0 reliability.
@@chodkowski01 never had a problem with Honda. But I purchased ext warranty just in case 👍🏻
I want to go touring but I’m on fence with leather seats. I live in a hot area so black leather could be a problem.
@@Hugosmokes don’t they give u 5 years warranty how much did u pay to extend it
In Mexico the sport version has sunroof ($29,000 dollars), I think is a mix of the sport and EX version, touring ($31,500 dollars) is the only version with Honda Sensing, Lx version ($26,000 dollars) is the one with 2 liters engine
I wish they made a sport touring. I Iike the outside of the sport but I like the interior of the touring. Good video
They do make a sport touring.
sport touring is the hatchback version
The Civic has grown up, and I like it. Coming from 20 years of daily driving Accords. I am actually interested in buying a Touring trim of the Civic. The 2023 Accord is a turn off with no pep. By killing off the 2.0t, it's pretty much dead to me.
Test drove the 2023 Sport and it is rougher then the 2021 Honda Accord Sport. The Accord sport felt better from a rid quality standpoint, but the Civic felt more modern and I like that.
The Sport trim is going for $27k MSRP in my area, and the Touring is going for $31k MSRP. I think the extra $4k is worth it to jump up to the Touring for the Engine standpoint. The 2.0L NA in the Sport felt sluggish. If you need a car and want to get into a Civic Sport, there is no reason not to unless you are like me and want the 1.5t shared with the Si trim.
I plan to get the Sport Touring (Hatch) over just the Touring. I like the hatch from a access standpoint. Having the hatch to me is a nice add for the price. And I like the rims on the Sport Touring vs the Touring.
Got my touring for the price of a sport. After 2 weeks and walking out of the dealer (: I pay $415 /per month, 60 months, no interest :D. Nvm the turbo, the Bose is actually pretty good! Never be excited for a car, make that sales rep call you back, if not go somewhere else
Nice that’s a super good deal.
If you get the touring model in Canada it also comes with a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats.
Don’t understand everyone’s obsession with the sunroof. I went with a sport model because it DID NOT have a sunroof! Im tall and my hair was brushing the ceiling when I sat in the Touring… I personally wish there was a sunroof delete option in the Touring
Personal preference honestly. I love sunroofs myself
@@NamedLisandro I’d love a sunroof if it didn’t take away precious inches of headroom
I really like the body style of the new civic, but I definitely have a few gripes. The sport version is missing a ton of features that a 2022 car should have. I watched a video of the Canadian 2022 Civic SI and it's basically all of the things you'd get in the touring edition, but with 200hp + stickshift. The US version is 30k and you don't even get automatic seats... I think the fact that you are paying a minimum of 25k after taxes, fees, etc.. you're basically better off leasing a 2020+ Toyota Camry SE (That will have 200hp + better features) for a few bucks more a month. =/
Definitely. The Canadian versions are amazing when compared to the US. They could’ve included so many more options
The sport is basically a base model. If you think it’s missing features everything it needs is on the touring just gotta pay up
Rumor is Honda couldnt add those features without jacking up the price and cannibalizing Acura. In Canada the Si is considered a highest trim level while we think the Touring is.
Just the review i was looking and waiting for!! Great job! thanks!
touring more options just 5k more, also you can get more discount on touring .It’s worth you get a lot more options
We got the sport touring. Love that hatch. Personally I can't stand the look of the half and half display. Just bug's it is two different shades that causes the very noticeable line. Almost appear s as if broken. Still a great car.
I agree 100% on the dash
Great comparison, thanks for sharing! I think I'm leaning towards the touring for the better features.
Touring is great i love it
Worse engine though, it’s not very reliable compared to the 2.0NA
That other honda in the garage is beautiful too❤
I rather spend more for the touring the sport is missing a lot of things I want like the moon roof electric power seats more horsepower wireless Apple car play heated seats etc sport to basic
The EX is by far the most value trim there is there’s no argument
doesn't come in manual transmission sadly
How?
Great video, very helpful and looks clean
Not necessarily, the touring model is having a couple problems with engine Honda is having the same problem from the last civic. The 1.5t has something going for them. If we are talking reliability i would go with the sport 2.0 naturally aspirated. Overall both vehicles are great cars, just with the sport came with more (sunroof) it’s 2022 I think it should be common in vehicles now.
Gotta go with the tech and the 40 more horsepower on the touring
The touring has the high maintenance problem 1.5 turbo while the Sport has the very reliable 2.0. Just look for used Honda Civics, they will all be the 1.5 turbo because when they reach 30,000 miles that’s when the problems start. You won’t find any used 2.0 for sale.
🤔
I have the 1.5 in my 24 Sport Touring Hatchback 1.5 6MT and I am not worried one bit. Will maintain it properly and there is the warranty. No problemo. Plus, I have extended warranty. Complete paranoia about the 1.5.
I am so confused so right now. I was in the market for sport but then i found Subaru legacy base is 22995 . Subaru legacy seems like a no brainer compared to sport awd, bigger, quieter etc . With destination both of them are priced more or less the same
Sport Touring 👌
I went with the touring as too many cuts on the sport. I hate the split screen on the sport dash and 7inch screen is too small. The only thing I liked better on the sport is the black rims and black headliner.
i did the same went with touring
Just wait till the problems start. Look at used civics and you’ll see touring with 30,000 up. You’re going to have a hard time finding a used 2.0.
The 2022 honda civic sport looks totally different here in canada. We have the sunroof, with heated steering wheel, and heated seats only the front and a few more things
The Canada sport has way more features it’s crazy
Thats not a sport. If the engine is 1.5 turbo
I got a 2019 touring ❤ I love it
Just look up touring civic oil dilution, direct injection, high pressure fuel pump, spark plugs, coil pack problems on the Honda Civic 1.5 turbo engine. Problems start at 30,000 and get worst from there.
It’s a Honda, it doesn’t have problems
I work at a Honda and I have seen some of these minor issues. But if you keep on regular maintenance you don’t have to worry about major issues
@@LeonardoDiax24 the 1.5T engines do actually have pretty annoying and expensive problems. 2.0Na is still great though.
@LeonardoDiax24 it has problems. honda isn't an exemption. I have one
Great video! I would go with the sport model. The touring with the 1.5 liter turbo has issues.
Thanks!
2:29 Right after you click the start button there is this little click. I just got my 2023 sport and it does the same thing. I was wondering if it was normal, seems like its what they all do.
Yea seems normal
Awesome review !
Civic Sport all the way. Saved $6,000 off the price of the Touring at my local DC dealership. I can easily live without the bells and whistles of the Touring and the 2.0 engine in the Sport is factually more reliable.
I like them both. I love the black accents of the sport
Good video bro I went with the touring
Canadian model the touring comes with heated steering wheel and heated rear seats
so does the sport
Maybe because it's cold as shit in Canada.
& thanks for the comparison👌🏽
For my touring owners. Im looking to do an exhaust swap and do some body work on it. Any advise? Ive been told to be cautious of the exhaust I pick because it might not be compatible with my touring.
Bro I got a Toyota ad in a Honda video 😂😂
😂😂
That funny on the sports 2016 both RPM and are digital
It’s such a easy question sport turning hands down the best of both
That is true. What sucks is that it only comes in a hatch. Some ppl don’t want that
@@NamedLisandro good thing
I really like the styling of the hatch back and it’s available with a 6 speed manual 🤟🏽
we need a speed test :P sport vs touring i wanna see after 80km 100km
Thanks for the suggestion !
What do you think is the easiest colour to maintain SGP, White or Meteor Grey? Great review btw!
SGP for sure. thanks!
Hey man I see you’re in Florida, how has your leather seat experience been where you’re at? I live in Vegas so I’m worried that black leather will be too hot.
Never bothered me. I’ve had multiple cars with leather
We purchased some towels to cover the seats when we have to park somewhere. Two normal size for the front and a large for the back. Works perfectly. Walmart had some black and white ones that match the cars paint and interior.
158 HP with the 2.0L engine, I believe about 140 FT./LBS. Torque.
*138 ft./lbs. torque. Generally more longevity than the 180 hp 1.5L turbo.
@@jjacob25101 you mentioned the longevity of the 1.5 turbo, you apparently have done your homework.
@@chodkowski01 Hondas make good engines, and tgey will last long if you maintain them well and don't abuse them, but in comparison, it will not have the overall longevity, reliability and dependability at high mileage with the turbo and GDI compared to the N/A 2.0L engine. K Tuner csn now bring the N/A 2.0L engine power levels up to that of the 1.5L turbo in the regular production, non Si engines, but I don’t know how it would adversely impact or affect that engine.
Weird how the touring is faster than the sport even tho it’s called a sport
Kind of wished they did a 2.0L Turbo in the civic and I would have bought it.
Type r
@@NamedLisandro Yeah I don't know. Availability is pretty bad right now. I ended up getting the Mazda3 Sedan with the 2.5T instead. So far so good.
I was very close to getting a sport touring hatchback with the 1.5T and a cvt. Lets just say I'm fine with a standard six even though it's been around since the stone age.
You own both? Really like the look of the sport
Yes i got rid of the sport though not only the touring
@@NamedLisandro why’s that? I’m actually looking into getting a sport
@@kevin2jzzzz203 the sport is nice. I like all the extra features and alittle more power from the touring personally.
The touring is worth the premium.
The 1.5 turbo problems aren’t for me.
I'd decided get the touring...but I'm 54 years old
Nice job!
Chrome over the windows on the touring
160mph? LMAO, in Honda's dream!
😂😂
From my pov, extra features are not for me. Do I need a sunroof? No. Do I need lane assist? No. It makes you as a driver rely on a camera rather than actual skill. Etc. You know where I’m going. I like my car to be bare bones.
Getting the Touring!
You’re gonna love it
My 2001 civic has a 60/40 split and its a dx 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
the sport in canada has sunroof n side mirror signals n heated seats n wheel
and has parking sensors
Yea it’s crazy the differences from the Us version and the Canada version.
Canada has it all :) I had pre ordered Sport and decided not get it after test drive
@@digitors how come
@@athernoo trim features I like were missing, sunroof, Bose sound, leather etc
Isn’t the “fake fog lights” corner detection?
No they are not
I want this white touring. Where can I find one?
It’s hard now to find because of the shortages
side view pic of both?
Only diff from the side is going to be the painted mirror caps and wheels
Touring
🙌🏽
What you think about the Acura integra 2023 ??
I like it. But also the interior is almost like the new civic
I thought it had wireless CarPlay 😢
The touring does
The touring does, but it also has a way less reliable engine.
It’s titled 2023 but you said 2022 - just checking looks like 2023?
22 and 23 at the same
Sell me the tsx wagon!
😂😂😂
this is misleading thumbs down this it's 2022 not 2023 model.
No difference in the two
I'm sorry Honda but the word "sport" and CVT does't belong together....This car is for sure good, but anything but sport👎
comes in manual transmission
The sports is a waste of time, touring is far better
Thought Touring is Hatch
Hatch is Sport Touring
So the white one is Touring? I don’t see hatch in the back
@@digitors white is the touring sedan. Red is a sport
@@digitors Why would see a hatch? It's not a hatchback. The Civic Sport is a sedan. The Civic Touring (the white one in this video) is a sedan. The Civic SPORT TOURING (notice: Not Civic Sport OR Civic Touring.) The Civic Sport Touring (a completely different model than you see in this video) is a hatchback.
Touring or nothing!
Agreed!
I wanna trade my accord sport for the touring…a lot more features honestly
@@VirgoKing1987 a lot more problems. Lots of people are dumping their 1.5 turbo engine cars. To many problems.
Touring is nice, but the 1.5L engine is not reliable. I wish they had touring features in a 2.0NA
On God!!!
Bubba you got 2022 why you lie with 2023? Not cool
No difference in the two
